Bojan will not leave on loan this summer

Catalan sports papers El Mundo Deportivo and Sport both claim that Barcelona forward and Spanish youth international Bojan Krkic (18) will not leave on loan in the summer.

With the permission of Barcelona manager Josep Guardiola and according to the wish of the player (read more
here), the club would have decided on Wednesday that Bojan will stay with the team next season. Barcelona would have informed the player's agent Ramón Sostres about the decision during a meeting yesterday.

Sport claims that Dutch champions AZ Alkmaar would have been the last club to have asked for the player, with new AZ manager Ronald Koeman having discussed a possible loan with Barcelona sports director Txiki Begiristain.

El Mundo Deportivo claimed earlier this week that Deportivo had given up on Bojan (read more
here) but that Barcelona was considering to include the loan of Bojan in an offer for Atlético Madrid striker Forlán.

Almería sports director Alberto Benito said two days ago in an interview with local televisión channel Interalmería Televisión that Almería would give a loan another try (read more here): "Our president is very interested in Bojan. We know it will be very difficult but the president has a great relationship with Joan Laporta and I can assure you that we will try to sign him."

But the sports director gave up on the player in an interview with Madrid sports tabloid As today: "Our interest in Bojan was real. It's a young and motivated player who could have fit in in the team. But if Barça doesn't want him to leave, we cannot do a lot about that. It's a shame, also because it's very hard to find born strikers."

i know i will get bashed for this buuuuut..

am i the only one who doesn't think bojan has (yet) proven to be something more than average?

i knooooow he's young, but i still think he hasn't done that many to prove he could be a world class striker in a world class team as barça.

i would really wanted to see how many goals he would score for -let's say- almeria..

too bad!

yeah!! i really wanted bojan to stay.people think that when a player is loaned he will get more expirience but it doesnt work that way.expirience is earned by playing in top leagues, difficult matches and by training with world class players.its not the same if bojan trains with messi/ronaldinho/eto and if he trains with lower talented players.those minutes he gets in barca shirt are more expirience than playing a whole season in ajax or deportivo.

in last 2-3 games he started in the league he showed how much his game has grown up,he created 2 goal chances for eto(beatiful passes) and played without fear(almost all games he played he was a bit afraid ),now he lets his talent out, mainly cause he has stayed with this team alot of time. i bet next year he will become better and by 2011 he will earn a position in our first 11.

sorry if what i am saying doesnt make any sense hehehe, but thats how i see things are going

i'm still 50-50 over this decision, if he couldn't get enough playing time last season what's the chances next season when the squad is stronger, he might breakdown that his football is being less and less appreciated.

on the other hand pep might play him more cause the season is more games and shorter, fatigue and injuries will be a huge factor. we can garauntee he will spearhead our copa attack again but is that enough for dear ol bojan who wasn't happy that he didn't even get a second in cl final but pedro did, i still don't get that but whatever.

i appreciate you guys opinion showing that you don't have any arguments.
is there anyone so brave to tell me he isn't quite an aguero or a pato?

he's by far not that good.

skanjos said...

i think bojan has the potential to be way greater than pato and aguero.pep should use him as striker more often though

he hasnt impressed me yet either

pato can't pass a ball if his mother's life depended on it. but he has a great shot and some defense splitting runs and speed. boajn is true cantera product. none of our cantera products start as the awe inspiring person we want them to be. give bojan more time he is our second youngest cantera in the first team. so i agree with skanjos bojan over pato and aguero.

This was a right decision. He needs top-level games to develop from super talent to superstar.

someone above asked if he has proven himself to be anything but average...
firstly, hes 18, where was eto at 18? where was ibra? they werent getting 10 goals and 8 assits in 17 starts and 24 subs. bojan has also scored 1000+ goals in the youth division. he is anything but average. thats never been the question, the question is if he is great? barcelona great?

bojan is two years younger than aguero.

@ areign:

well we weren't interested in eto'o and zlatan till they were at least five years older.. needless to say that we can't give bojan that many time.

Don't doubt he's talented and on the verge of becoming an above-average player.

i just claim he isn't barça material yet..

yesssssssssss!!!!! i prayed and prayed and God and Pep listened! woooot! mark my words guys he will be a different player nxt ssn esp now he's gotten this boost of confidence (as shown by the decision to keep him), you will see esp the doubters.

hieifcb said...

he is great, but i still think he's bit young for the starting 11.
He cant reply complain tht he's not getting alot of minutes, he should be patient. He will shine soon.

Well lets hope Barca made the right decision. for me its 50-50, lets wait and see.

i hope Pep doesn't use him as a super sub alone. not tat he wont deliver , he will. but he needs more starts to get his confidence high up and tat would surely affect the way he plays on the pitch.

Pato scored 17 goals this year and Bojan scored 10. But Pato played probably twice as much as Bojan in terms of minutes, he started most of the games. For all the hype that Pato gets I think they're pretty comparable. Bojan is more of a finesse striker, more of a dribbler & passer. Plus Bojan is 18, and Pato is 19.

Is this a barca fan glog??? Let me explain how this works. No matter what options were out there Bojan staying was the best 1.

-Long season
-Youth product
-10 yrs left of futboling
-if we really wanted to sell his value just goes up by retaining him
-why would you get rid of a spanish citizen on the team...???
-U21 Spain Striker
.....pato...aguero...
come on guys really. Only real barca fans should post.

I wonder what we would be talking about if he scored that header against chelsea at the nou camp as a sub.....

inieeeeeeeeeesta said...

never thought of selling him- have mentioned that before...

and if barça-fan means you can't have an honest opinion about a player, than i'm not..

a real barça-fan
