Right back Bruno Saltor could be first transfer

Catalan radio station Ona FM claims that Barcelona wants to sign Almería right back defender Bruno Saltor (28) this summer.

The Catalan defender had a pre-agreement with Betis Sevilla, but the agreement will be broken because Betis got relegated to the Spanish second divsion last weekend and Bruno could now accept an offer by Barcelona.

Barcelona sports director Txiki Begiristain would already have met twice with the agent of the player. Barcelona manager Josep Guardiola would have talked with Bruno when Barcelona faced Almería in March to inform him that they were closely following him.

Valencia and Atlético Madrid are also interested but the negotiations with Barcelona are the most advanced and the player prefers to join Barcelona. The contract of Bruno at Almería expired this summer, which means he would join Barcelona on a free transfer.

Sources closes to the player told Spanish news agency Europa Press that Bruno is looking at other options after the relegation of Betis. Asked about the rumours linking him with a move to barcelona, Bruno said in an interview with Catalan radio station RAC 1 that he's very happy with the interest: "Barça is the best team in the world and I would be delighted to be able to play there. If this would go through, I won't play complicate things but I want to stay calm now."

His cost would be 0 euro since he's out of contract.

Bruno Saltor can give the same performance that Silvinho but in the right. It is a good signing for 0 Euros

if he is that good, then it would be a good singing, also because he is free and he is a catalan and he is a perfect back up to dani alves!

if he is that good why is he out of contract then ? I don't like this transfer we can get better players with better skills the squad need depth with quality like Manutd & chelsea .
but that is only my openion . I trust Pep Guardiola 100% I know he will make the right choice. bring in Alves and kieta was a very smart move . but helb was out of touch :) .

I think he was out of contract because he was sick and fed up with being in Almeria so didnt renew. Valencia and Atletico madrid are desperate to sign him it seems, but we are Barcelona, best team in the universe, so we get him.

but is he willing to sit on bench?
I mean if he's tht good, wont he prefer to play? =P
And with Dani Alves as RB, dnt think he will get alot of minutes?

...if barca is really interested in him,he must be good...don't know him,but sounds good what some here said about him...he even looks like one who does only his job and not like a star...that's a positive sign...

if he is that good by the way i dont know about him, he can be our right back and dani alves can play on the midfield or right winger in the copa matches or insignificant occasions.add depth for god's sake :)

Yes, it is a good point that I think Dani Alves can be a backup for Messi. Iniesta is also a backup for Messi of course, so we probably dont need a clear backup for Messi, like Hleb was supposed to be this year.
