Bayern holding on to Lahm

Asked about the position of Bayern Munich full back defender and German international Philipp Lahm (24) who did not renew his contract that expires in 2009 (read more here), Bayern Munich CEO Karl-Heinz Rummenigge has told in an interview with German sports site Sport1 that in his opinion the player will not leave in the summer and that the club will give the renewal another try:

"Philipp has a contract until 2009 and I assume that he will play for us next season. Regarding to the contract renewal the last word has not yet been said. Together with future manager Klinsmann, we will try to convince Philipp that Bayern is a good club for him."
