Ajax player Suarez dreams about Barcelona

Asked about the rumours linking him with several European clubs, Ajax forward and Uruguay international Luis Suárez (22) has said in an interview with Dutch newspaper De Telegraaf that he plans to stay at Ajax this summer:

"I will stay. Because I feel good here and because I know that coach Martin Jol can make me even better. And that is needed to succeed at a top club.

Of course I'm thinking about what would happen if a club like Barcelona would show interest. To play there is the dream of every child, so also my dream. Now my feeling says no, because I'm still not ready for that. I feel important here, supported by the group and the coaches and I want to help the club winning the league and taking part in the Champions League. But maybe Ajax will sell if there would be a bid of many millions."

Barcelona preparing bid for AZ striker El Hamdaoui

Dutch newspaper De Telegraaf claims, based on unconfirmed Spanish sources, that Barcelona is still interested in AZ Alkmaar forward Mounir El Hamdaoui (24) (read more here).

The interest could soon become concrete with Barcelona preparing a bid of 20 million euro° for the Dutch-Moroccan striker, who is at this moment the leading goal scorer in the Dutch league with 14 goals out of 14 games.

Dutch newspaper Algemeen Dagblad claims that Barcelona scouts are closely following El Hamdaoui and that there were again Spanish scouts present on Saturday to watch the player in the game against Feyenoord. AZ would have accepted that they won't be able to keep the striker if a serious offer comes in during the January tansfer window.

Asked about the rumours linking him to Barcelona, El Hamdaoui seemed to suggest in an interview with Dutch television channel Eredivisie Live that there has been contact: "I heard about the interest of Barcelona, yes. Although I won't tell here how or when I heard it. We'll see what will happen."

In an interview with Dutch television channel NOS, the striker said that he's now focusing on finishing the year with his club: "I'm only thinking about AZ at this moment. We still have two games to play before the winter break. That's what I'm focusing on."

Deal between Ajax and Oleguer to follow soon

Asked about the negotiations with Barcelona centre and right back defender Oleguer Presas (28) (read more here), Ajax sports director Danny Blind said in an interview with Dutch newspaper De Telegraaf that Ajax hopes to close the transfer soon:

"A loan deal wasn't an option for Barcelona. We have a deal on the transfer fee with the club, that's step one. We haven't an agreement with the player yet but the prospects for a deal are good.

He is looking forward to play again and would like to do that with us. We have given Oleguer an indication of what he can earn with us. If you buy a player for that kind of fee, you don't sign him for one or two years. Today we pick up the negotiations and we hope he can join the group soon."

Dutch newspaper Algemeen Dagblad claims that it won't be a major problem to find a deal because Oleguer wasn't one of the big earners at Barcelona.

Catalan sports paper Sport claims that Ajax is now negotiating with Oleguer's legal adviser Sergi Clavera and that the Catalan defender will fly to Amsterdam this evening or at the latest tomorrow morning.

Sport claims that former Barcelona manager Frank Rijkaard has recommended the transfer of Oleguer to current Ajax manager Marco van Basten and Catalan sports paper El Mundo Deportivo claims that Oleguer's former team-mates Feyenoord midfielder Giovanni van Bronckhorst and Ajax midfielder Gabri have done the same.

Dutch newspaper De Telegraaf claims that Barcelona and Ajax Amsterdam are close to reach an agreement on the transfer of Barcelona centre and right back defender Oleguer Presas (28) (read more here).

There would only remain a minor gap between the Ajax bid and the asking price and both clubs hope to close a deal later today or at the latest tomorrow.

Ajax will then start negotiating with Oleguer on his contract, which could cause some problems since Ajax isn't able to offer the player the same salary he's curently receiving in Barcelona.

Catalan sports paper El Mundo Deportivo claims that Oleguer is expected to fly to Scotland with the rest of the group today. If a final deal is reached, the Catalan defender will travel to Amsterdam to be presented as new Ajax player.

Asked about the rumours linking Palmeiras central defender and Brazilian international Henrique Adriano Buss (21), who is close to joining Barcelona (read more here), with an Ajax Amsterdam loan deal, Ajax sports director Danny Blind has said to Dutch newspaper De Telegraaf that this could indeed be an option:

"In an earlier stage the construction was being looked at, altough now it's too early to say anything about it. Of course we would prefer to go for the long term and buy a player. But if the quality of the other options is too low or if other options fail for other reasons, then you should consider a loan deal. At that point, Henrique would be a serious option, cause the fact that we also would have liked to buy him means that we believe in the player."

Catalan sports paper El Mundo Deportivo meanwhile claims that, although the plan is clearly to let the player gain some more experience at another club, for Barcelona all options are still open regarding where Henrique would play on loan next season: Brazil (Palmeiras or another club) or Europe (Spanish league or other league).

Ajax Amsterdam sports director Danny Blind has said in an interview with Dutch newspaper De Telegraaf that the renewal negotiations with Ajax forward and Dutch international Klaas-Jan Huntelaar (24) are temporarily put on hold:

"The negotiations are stopped for now. We have agreed that we will listen to offers coming in. If the interested clubs don't pay what we ask, then we hope we can sit again around the table with Klaas-Jan later on. We don't really want to see him go. He's our top goalscorer and we would want him to stay, even if he doesn't sign a renewal. He still has two years left on his contract."

Although Ajax offered Huntelaar a serious pay rise, the player couldn't accept the fact that the Dutch club wanted to include a buyout fee of 25 million euro in the new contract. Huntelaar has now set his mind on a transfer to a foreign club.

The paper claims that Huntelaar could this summer probably leave for a transfer fee between 15 and 20 million euro°. Barcelona has over the last months been rumoured to be interested in the Dutch striker.

Asked about the new rumours linking him with a summer move to Barcelona (read more here), Hamburg attacker and Dutch international Rafael van der Vaart (25) has said in a reaction to Dutch newspaper De Telegraaf that such a report feels good but that he waits now if something will come out:

"Everybody knows that Barcelona is one of my dream clubs, so it flatters me that I'm linked with the club. On the other hand I know very well that I should not let every newspaper article go to my head. I just wait and see if the interest becomes more concrete or not."
