Youth: Stefan Ilic (MF Pelister)
Swedish fifth division club MF Pelister has officially announced that Pelister player Stefan Ilic (17) is in Barcelona for a test.
Pelister official Djoko Korlevski told Trelleborgs and Vellinge local newpaper Trelleborgs Allehanda that the test will last for one week: "We indeed received a request from a Barcelona scout here in Scandinavia, and of course we gave Stefan the permission to go there. Stefan travelled to Spain last Sunday and will stay in Barcelona for eight days."
The paper reports that Ilic grew up in Sweden but travelled to his parents' home country Serbia when he was 14 years old for an AC Milan talent camp in Belgrade. Although he didn't get selected, he stayed in Belgrade and joined OFK Beograd for two and a half year, after which he returned to Sweden. Earlier this summer, Ilic has been testing with Swedish first division club Malmö that offered him a contract.
