International: Bad start for Eto'o and Keita



















In the African zone, the last qualifying round started this weekend. Cameroon lost 1-0 against Togo. Barcelona forward Samuel Eto'o played the whole game and got booked.

International: Keita released by Mali

Barcelona midfielder Seydou Keita has found an agreement with the national football federation of Mali. The player was in France to play a friendly game against Angola tonight but received the persmission of the national team coach to return to Barcelona.

Keita was this morning one of the eight first team players (Valdés, Pinto, Jorquera, Sylvinho, Víctor Sánchez, Pedro, Hleb) who trained together with the Barcelona Atlètic squad. Puyol, who is recovering, has been doing some running. Barcelona manager Josep Guardiola, who had given his players two days off, lead the session together with Barcelona Atlètic coach Luis Enrique.

International: Eto'o scores twice for Cameroon

Barcelona forward Samuel Eto'o scored twice in Cameroon's 5-0 win against Mauritius. He scored the opening goal in the 26th minute and made his second from a penalty in the 47th minute. Eto'o played the whole game.

Ivory Coast won 3-0 against Madagascar. Barcelona defensive midfielder Yaya Touré played the whole match.

Mali got a late 2-1 win against Chad. Barcelona central midfielder Seydou Keita played the whole game.

Equatorial Guinea lost 0-1 at home against Sout Africa. Since the FIFA site hasn't the official match data yet, it's unclear if Barcelona Juvenil A forward Anselmo Eyegue (18) has participated in the game.

The 12 group winners and 8 best runners-up will advance to the next round. The 20 teams will then be grouped into 5 round-robin, home-and-away groups of 4 teams. The group winners qualify for the 2010 FIFA World Cup in South Africa.

Cameroon, Ivory Coast and Mali move on to this final round. Equatorial Guinea is eliminated.
