Inter asks record transfer fee for Ibrahimovic

Italian sports paper La Gazzetta dello Sport claims that Inter Milan is asking a record fee of 80 million euro° for Inter Milan forward and Swedish international Zlatan Ibrahimovic (27).

Because Barcelona president Joan Laporta couldn't offer more than 25 million euro° plus Barcelona forward Samuel Eto'o (28) for both Ibrahimovic ànd Inter left back defender Maxwell (27) during Thursday's meeting with Inter president Massimo Moratti, Barcelona's bid was soon rejected (read more
here).

Inter could be willing to accept players in return, but the cash part of the deal cannot be less than 50 million euro. The transfer fee Real Madrid could have paid for Kakà makes Inter stand firm. Real Madrid and Chelsea would meanwhile be preparing to enter the race for Ibrahimovic.

Italian sports paper Il Corriere dello Sport claims that Inter prefers to be paid in cash, but could accept to include players in the deal. Inter Milan manager José Mourinho would prefer Barcelona attacker Andrés Iniesta (25) but realizes that it's highly unlikely Barcelona will let the former youth player go. Two other possibilities that are mentioned are: Eto'o plus 40 to 50 million euro or Barcelona defensive midfielder Yaya Touré (26) plus 60 million euro.

Catalan sports paper Sport claims that Inter rejected a bid of 40 million euro plus Eto'o. Catalan sports paper El Mundo Deportivo claims that Inter asked 40 million euro plus Eto'o, while Barcelona, that is not interested in Maxwell, offered 25 million euro plus Eto'o. Madrid sports tabloid As claims that Inter asks a transfer fee of 65 million euro.

I don't understand why Chelsea isn't going for him, they really need someone to replace Drogba who's aging and injured a lot.

Moratti and Raiola made a big mistake. They should have offered Ibra to RM in the first place. We are not interested in paying that kind of money.

It seems a question of pride for Moratti now. He is thinking : If Kaka is worth so much shouldn't I be getting as much if not more for Ibra?

All the options mentioned are of ridiculous proportions.

I don't see the push for Zlatan. This guy has no localty. He and his agent have behaved very badly in this situation. They are just trying to get the best deal they can are are happy to play clubs against each other. I have never wanted him at Barca and hope he does not sign. I believe he will unbalance the team with his attitude. For every year he stays with us you can guarantee there will be controversy. We need focus and commitment next season not PRE-MODONAS!

ridiculous.

villa or torres would be better and cheaper

Iason said...

Zlatan is not that good. Take a quarter of that money and get David Villa or keep Eto'o. Villa is just like an improved version of Eto'o. Better penalties and better free kicks, way better finishing, better passing, better first touch and is just as fast and has a strong shot like Eto'o. Also, he wouldn't take time to settle in and and is Spanish. Maybe Barca can swap Eto'o and 5 million with Villa.

Iason said...

Also, Villa doesn't have any personality problems and commits himself to any club he plays for.

Anonymous said...

Villa would cost at least 50m euros lason. 20m euros for David Villa is not going to happen.

i begin to think that keeping eto'o is the best option!just ridiculous.. or zlatan starts pressuring inter or he stays..

Marc4barca said...

as much as I like zlatan, moratti is bullshitting with the transfer fee. how can someone ask for 80mil or 50 and eto, if you don't want to sell then just say so. i hope barca doesn't pay this fee or spend a whole transfer trying to get zlatan cause madrid did that last year with ronaldo and ended up only with van der vaart. i am sad cause zlatan would of been a great addition to the the team. everyone ask us for huge amount of money then end up selling to other clubs for way less, does arshavin ring a bell. there will be no trading of yaya or iniesta so forget it. just have to make do with eto again or get benzema. we sell players at right prices but we have to pay overprice for almost everyone? where is the justice in that?

Moratti is playing hard to convince if IBRA really wants to play for us he would talk with Moratti to lower the transfer fee if not we should try to get someone else keirrison is my primary objective he's tall as ibra and strong but needs some speed he would be useful!

oh and iason, pep doesn't a striker similar to eto, what is the sense in buying villa when eto is better or the same quality as him, in barca basically all u need to do is be in the right place at the right time and the forwards will find u as a author on goal said, so villa wouldn't be any different, what pep see in zlatan is a striker who is on the same skill as villa technically and with long shots and great passing ablity. not to forget he is also taller and more physical than villa, admit it that villa complains alot on the pitch. if we just wanteda tall forward we would of gone for crouch, llorente or whoever but pep chose zlatan cause he is more than a tall forward. so basically pep won't sign villa for three reasons, he is the same as eto and wont change anyhting and he is loyal as u said so he won't leave valencia and lastly valencia turned down a 42mil bid from chelsea, what do u think valencia would accept from barcelona who are rivals of the team. zlatan is unapproachable and i admit but villa is a waste buy and so is forlan.

NOOOOOOO! I hate Ibra! He is far too self confident, when he has no reason to be! Big Game flop, and not Barca quality! We need the Best and the ones who will fit into our system!

First, Eto'o should stay.

Second, if he left, even though he's 28 he should still command a price fit for a top-3 striker in the world. He's scored more goals in a better league than Ibrahimovich, so the notion that the year younger commands 30-40 million Euros is hilarious. If Barca determine that Eto'o should go now for economic reasons (because for my money personal reasons are no longer an issue - he clearly loves the team/city/etc), then they should actually achieve an economic goal by his transfer. Losing that sum of money and him for another great striker (but not better) who's only a year younger would not achieve that goal. Eto'o plus 10 million tops, or Eto'o plus Hleb. That's the limit, otherwise it's a loss.

It's funny that Inter still thinks it's a club that can make such demands. Mourinho & Co. should wake up to the fact that being a big fish in a dilapadated pond isn't an ideal bargaining position.

...or prima donna...

Like I said, Villa is similar to Eto'o but with way better finishing. If Villa was Barca's Striker this season, he probably would have scored over 40 goals in La Liga alone. I prefer Eto'o to stay.

Marc4barca said...

yea iason i know, he would probably have more than that but the question isn't weather he can score alot in la liga we already know this. the question is what will he do in cl against the english. that's the big talking point of the transfer season. What is the solution to games like the chelsea match?

First barca restructure eto contract and but Villa.

R10FCB said...

80 million?!!!
are they drunk?
Im a huge fan of ibra and would love to see him at barca, but not that amount of money, that is just plain stupid. if inter arnt prepared to lower their price to a reasonable amount i say forget him and focus on villa.

Ibra = too expensive.

We need an LB more than a Striker. Get Ribery and another top class LB. I hope Silva doesn't come here. Everyone seems to love him but i'm not a big fan.

Inter can go fuck themselves...

Villa will score against the English the same way he did with Spain.

Honestly, the only reason pep might be interested in ibrahimovic is because he provides something different than eto'o (sure etoo is the best striker in the world, fast and powerful) BUT what eto'o does not have is aerial threat, the ability to shoot from outside the box and the ability to bully defenders like ferdinand, terry, kolo toure etc..

Some might argue and say, well WHY change eto as he has scored soo many goals and been perfect, like i said it all comes down to pep's decision to provide something different.

Villa et al. r not like ibra. They are all good strikers, but ibra is like drogba, llorente, adriano...strong aerial threat who can bully defenders. GET IT EVERYONE!

Personally i think eto should stay, as i do not c the need to change the system and provide something different. But i trust in peps decision, and either way u CANNOT ignore ibra's skillz!!! i mean Freekicks (btw he would be a great FK taker for barca), dazzling goals!!! PLUS commercial value!

If Barca really want to spend 40m, spend it on Ribery.
Hleb+40 = Ribery = Best transfer of the seaosn.

Moratti must be smoking that good shit =) hell he always has that weird Joker smile on him. 80 Mill. for Ibra? While I'll admit Zlatan is superior in "almost" all aspects - he is super cocky - he makes CR7 looks like a choirboy. - he is lazy as hell - again he rivals Ronaldo. AND on top of that he commands a hefty salary - which is reasonable as a Inter player - since he is winning most of their matches by himself. But in Barcelona he is just one of many and not that high on the totem pole. He'd score crazy amount of goals with the service he would get from Xavi, Iniesta, Messi, Henry. I agree 10 - 15 Mill. + Eto'o and a salary around 8-9 Mill. But I highly doubt his arrogant ass will take a pay cut.

sashi said...

do ppl understand that Ribery would not come for anything less than 50 mil. Bayern said Real would only get 1 leg of Ribery for 40 mil. so ppl who think Ribery is cheap can chuck the thought out of their mind. also, Eto is in his final year of the contract and so he would be valued less than the others who have 2 or 3 years left in their contract. tats how it is.

and Villa is not free either. they rejected a 40 mil bid from Chelsea. so if we need some forward this year, we need to spend big and i feel Ibra is our best bet.

and the thing is Moratti is just trying to scare Barca with the high price tag but eventually Mourinho would tell him tat he doesn't need Ibra bcoz he has decided to leave Inter and if he still stays, tat will be bad for the team. so Moratti would have no other choice than to reduce the price tag to a reasonable valuation like Eto+30 mil bcoz they willl also be desperate to get rid of him.

we should alll believe in Pep tat he can change Ibra's ego and make it productive for the team. and i really feel tat Pep can do tat.

Sorry Eto'o + 30 is not reasonable, not at all. That would put Ibra @ 60. He's only half a year younger than Eto'o, commands the higher salary that we don't want to offer Eto'o and he doesn't bring in the advertising dollars that Kaka brings.

whatever happens, in pep we trust.
i would love it if we get Ibra. and I think next month or a couple of weeks we will talk again w/ inter, and they will consider to lower the price cuz ibra himself wants to leave.
what i do not want, the only thing i'm worried about, is Evil Empire hijacking Ibra. that i do not want. they have the money, so we should becareful of this Ibra case. the tought of Ibra in madrid make me scared :p
in PEP we trust

my dream is coming true - of not seeing this guy in a barca shirt. hope it stays that way too, too expensive, useless in big games, no commitment. that about sums up you hero, Marc and Amir

80m ?? wtf? I dont think so.. firstly Kaka was 65m so how can be Ibra valued 80m?
secondly I prefer breaking the bank for Ribery not for Ibra so Eto'o and Henry will play in the middle

Anonymous said...

he is so overrated, I hope Barca don't buy him. He can score in the italian league, ok, but in the Champions League or in swedens national team he never/rarely scores.
And look at how he plays, he stands at the top, not moving or anything, just waiting for the ball. Does a player like that fit in Barca? Hell no!
Buy Adebayor instead, he's cheaper and better and suits Barca's style

All this +Etoó deal reminds me of robinho plus deal real madrid had with man u.

and somewhere along the way could damage Etoó while we dont get any1 in return...

Eto'o should leave. After this great season by Eto'o he will most likely want a better contract, and more money than Messi. That's not going to happend. + Eto'os contract ends next season, if barca want some money for Eto'o this is the time. He is still "not old", and he will probably never play this good again.

Anyone saw Ibra in the international match Sweden-Denmark? Totaly sucked. But the thing with Ibra is that he plays great in good teams. Thats why he sucks in the Sweden. What would happen in Barca - the best team in the world? The answer is that he would be awesome... Hopefully.

I really hope whoever wrote 80 mill or 50 + Eto'o was stoned when he did it. No way Ibra is worth that much.

Unknown said...

i think etoo + 40 millions for ibra and maxwell is fair for everyone we should try another bid

Anonymous said...

its all Bullshit!!! wtf it the meaning of all this nonsense. How can Barca plans to repay Eto'o so badly after all the IMPORTANT goals he has scored this season for Pep and Barca. If not of Eto'o, Pep won't be so happy. Isn't it? now signing Ibra is total Shit. that guy aint got manners. giving eto'o a better pay package to stay at Barca is just the best thing to do.....also signing Ribery and selling Henry will be BEST to Barca this season.
