Barça B: Miki Roque (Liverpool)

Sevilla regional newspaper Estadio Deportivo claims that Barcelona was earlier this summer interested in Liverpool central defender Miki Roqué (21).

Miki Roqué, who played on loan with Spanish third division club Cartagena last season, nevertheless rejected an offer to join Barcelona Atlètic.

Last month, the Catalan defender, whose contract with Liverpool expired this year, signed for Spanish third division club Betis Sevilla B.

Right back Bruno Saltor could be first transfer

Catalan radio station Ona FM claims that Barcelona wants to sign Almería right back defender Bruno Saltor (28) this summer.

The Catalan defender had a pre-agreement with Betis Sevilla, but the agreement will be broken because Betis got relegated to the Spanish second divsion last weekend and Bruno could now accept an offer by Barcelona.

Barcelona sports director Txiki Begiristain would already have met twice with the agent of the player. Barcelona manager Josep Guardiola would have talked with Bruno when Barcelona faced Almería in March to inform him that they were closely following him.

Valencia and Atlético Madrid are also interested but the negotiations with Barcelona are the most advanced and the player prefers to join Barcelona. The contract of Bruno at Almería expired this summer, which means he would join Barcelona on a free transfer.

Sources closes to the player told Spanish news agency Europa Press that Bruno is looking at other options after the relegation of Betis. Asked about the rumours linking him with a move to barcelona, Bruno said in an interview with Catalan radio station RAC 1 that he's very happy with the interest: "Barça is the best team in the world and I would be delighted to be able to play there. If this would go through, I won't play complicate things but I want to stay calm now."

Bojan linked with loan move to Deportivo and Betis

Asked about the rumours linking Barcelona forward and Spanish youth international Bojan Brkic with a loan move to Deportivo La Coruña (read more here), Deportivo manager Miguel Angel Lotina has said at a press conference that the club has talked with Barcelona but that a loan move of Bojan is unlikely:

"We've been talking with Barça about some players, like we did with Valencia, with Atlético Madrid and with Real Madrid. There are now some names on the table. We had some good experiences with loaning players from big teams and we're gonna try to repeat it by signing other players who are getting few chances at big clubs. I nevertheles can't confirm the rumour about Bojan because Barcelona surely will want to keep him."

Sevilla regional sports paper Estadio Deportivo meanwhile claims that Betis Sevilla is also interested in loaning Bojan next season, although it seems difficult to compete with all the others club that are wanting to sign the Catalan striker during the summer transfer window.

Malaga and Betis interested in Jorquera

Catalan sports paper Sport claims that Málaga is one of the clubs that are interested in Barcelona goalkeeper Albert Jorquera (30).

Málaga is looking for a substitute for first goalkeeper Iñaki Goitia, who doesn't plan to renew his expiring contract. Because of his position as third goalkeeper, Jorquera could reconsider his inital plan to stay at Barcelona (read more here).

Sevilla local newspaper El Correo claims that Jorquera, whose contract with Barcelona ends in the summer of 2010, is also one of the four names (besides Leo Franco, Carlos Kameni and Iñaki Goitia) on a list of players managed by Betis Sevilla to strengthen the goalkeeping position during the summer transfer window.

Barça B: Betis interested in Abraham

Sevillian local newspaper Diario de Sevilla claims that Betis Sevilla is interested in Barcelona Atlètic midfielder Abraham González (23), who joined Barcelona B in the summer of 2007 and whose current contract expires at the end of this season.

Betis sports director Manuel Momparlet would recently have had several contacts concerning the transfer of Abraham, who made his first team debut last October in the cup game against Benidorm (read more here). The Primera División team could soon make a formal offer for the midfielder, who would be getting less playing time with Barcelona Atlètic lately because he would have rejected a first renewal offer by Barcelona.

Asked about the presumed interest of Betis, the player's agent Rafael Anguita told the paper that he was aware that Betis is following Abraham: "Betis didn't make us a concrete offer, but I can tell you that their technical staff perfectly knows the player. I cannot say more at this stage.

It's true that his contract expires in June and that he therefore can sign for any club from the 1st of January on, but we don't want to rush things. We have several options and we will look at them carefully. We have offers coming from Spain as well as one from abroad, but we should also listen to what Barcelona has to say.

Abraham wants to play at a club that can give him some guarantees, not really financial ones, but more sporting guarantees. He's 23 years old and he wants to play in the first division because he's perfectly capable of that. And the truth is that at this moment it's not easy to reach that goal at Barcelona."

Barcelona unwilling to let Caceres leave on loan

Asked about the rumours linking Barcelona central defender and Uruguay international Martín Cáceres (21) with a loan move to Betis Sevilla in January (read more here), Barcelona sports director Txiki Begiristain has said to journalists that an exit is not really an option at this moment:

"Betis didn't ask for him and the player hasn't asked to leave on loan. We don't have any plans to loan out Martín Cáceres. It's not scheduled. We're not willing to put a player on the market in January just because he's playing less than expected.

We actually don't plan any transfers during the winter transfer window. We're satisfied with the squad that we've built and that is performing great."

Catalan sports paper El Mundo Deportivo claims that Spanish first division club Betis Sevilla is interested in Barcelona central defender and Uruguay international Martín Cáceres (21).

Betis is considering to ask Barcelona to sign Cáceres on loan when the winter transfer market opens in January. The Uruguayan defender could then join Betis until the end of the current season.

Transfer history: Denilson (Palmeiras)

In an interview with Spanish football weekly paper Don Balón, Palmeiras left winger and former Brazilian international Denilson (31), who played for Betis Sevilla from 1998 until 2005, has said that he was very close to sign for Barcelona in 1998:

"When I was playing for São Paulo, one day I went to sleep thinking that I would join Barcelona and when I woke up the next day I was a Betis player.

The first official proposal I received came from Barcelona. The negotiations were almost finalized. The two presidents had reached an agreement and informed me about it. Everything was agreed upon but in the end the deal was cancelled because of a little detail, I think they couldn't agree on who should pay the taxes on the transfer operation.

Almost immediately after, Betis appeared with a proposal that São Paulo couldn't refuse. It was also for me a financially very interesting offer and I decided to accept it."

Barcelona gets money from Sergio Garcia transfer

Since Barcelona was entitled to 20 per cent of the transfer fee if Zaragoza sold former Barcelona player Sergio García (25) (read more here), Barcelona will receive 1,6 million euro°, which could rise to 2 million euro°, as a consequence of the transfer of the player from Zaragoza to Betis Sevilla last week (read more here).

Beits and Zaragoza agreed a transfer price of 8 million euro° plus an additional 2 million euro°.

Aragón regional sports paper Equipo claims that the variables are depending on the striker playing at least 125 games for Betis in the next five seasons and the striker scoring at least 60 goals during that same period.

Zaragoza also keeps 25 per cent of the transfer rights of Sergio García although it's not clear what this means for Barcelona.

Former Barcelona forward and Sergio García (25), who was earlier this summer rumoured to be on Barcelona's target list (read more here), has yesterday been officially presented as new player of Spanish first division club Betis Sevilla, where the striker signed a five-year contract.

Betis had offically announced the transfer of the Spanish international on Tuesday. His former club Zaragoza officially confirmed the news the same day.

His new club pays a fixed transfer fee of 8 million euro° plus another possible 2 million euro° variables.

Sergio García came through the youth ranks of Barcelona and joined the first team in 2003. One year later he was loaned out to Levante. In the summer of 2005 Sergio García was transferred to Zaragoza.

Henrique will sign on Monday

Asked about the rumours that he's on the verge of becoming a Barcelona player (read more here), Palmeiras central defender and Brazilian international Henrique Adriano Buss (21) has said to Catalan radio station Catalunya Ràdio that he hopes to complete the deal in the beginning of next week:

"On Monday I arrive in Barcelona to finalize my transfer. There are only some last details left."

Catalan sports paper El Mundo Deportivo claims that once the 8 million euro° deal is closed, the negotiations on a loan deal will be started with the clubs who already have shown interest to have Henrique in their squad next season.

German tabloid Express confirms that Bayer Leverkusen is, together with Ajax Amsterdam and Betis Sevilla, in the running to sign the Brazilian defender on loan (read more here). Bayer Leverkusen sports director Rudi Völler hopes that the quality of the Bundesliga will be decisive in the decision of Barcelona and Henrique.

Catalan sports paper Sport claims that a total agreement concerning the transfer of Palmeiras central defender and Brazilian international Henrique Adriano Buss (21) has been reached (read more here).

Henrique, who can also play as defensive midfielder, would arrive on Monday in Barcelona to sign a five-year contract and to start working with the group.

The Brazilian player would do part of the pre-season with the first team but would then be loaned out for one year. Betis Sevilla, Ajax Amsterdam and Bayer Leverkusen are the three clubs that have contacted Barcelona asking for Henrique to join them next season.

Asked about the rumours linking Palmeiras central defender and Brazilian international Henrique Adriano Buss (21), who is close to joining Barcelona with a loan deal (read more here), Henrique's agent Marcos Malaquias said to Brazilian sports paper Lance that he hasn't heard about that possibility so far:

"I haven't yet been informed on a possible loan. But I will meet on Wednesday with Barcelona officials to resolve all outstanding issues. In any case we will do whatever is best for the player."

In an interview with Brazilian sports site Globo Esporte, Malaquias said that on Monday he was contacted by the Ajax Amsterdam board who considered a last minute attempt to sign the player: "I thanked Ajax for the renewed interest, but explained to them that we have already signed a contract with Barcelona. There are just some minor burocratic details left for Henrique to be presented in Spain."

Catalan sports paper Sport says that Henrique could arrive in Barcelona next Monday. The paper claims that Guardiola will first watch the player during the first weeks of the pre-season and then decide if he has his place with the squad or if he will be loaned out. Dutch clubAjax would in that case be the first option (read more here).

Sevilla sports paper Estadio Deportivo meanwhile claims that Betis Sevilla could be another option. Barcelona would be looking for a partner in the Primera División where young players like Henrique could gain some experience with European football and with the Spanish league and Betis could be that club.

Madrid tabloid Marca claims that Betis Sevilla sports director Manuel Momparlet has contacted José Fuentes, the agent of Barcelona defensive midfielder José Edmílson (31) to talk about the possibility to sign the player, whose contract expires in June.

Betis manager Paco Chaparro would already have asked to bring in Edmílson in January, but the club didn't consider the option back then. Although the former Brazilian international, who has a salary of two million euro, not totally excludes Betis, he is likely to consider other options first.
