New Liverpool youth coach hopes to return

Former Barcelona youth coach Rodolfo Borrell, who signed last week a contract with English premier League club Liverpool (read more here), has said in an interview with Catalan sports paper El Mundo Deportivo that he hopes to return to Barcelona after his experience in England:

"Rafa Benítez personally called me and convinced me. I'm leaving but my wish is to return one day."

Over the next two years, Borrell will be the coach of Liverpopol's Under-18 team. Borrell was the most succesful youth of Barcelona's youth academy with 14 trophies won in 12 years. He left Barcelona a first time during the 20207-2008 season to become assistant coach at Greek club Iraklis Thessaloniki. Earlier this year, he had rejoined the youth academy.

And this isn't a minor loss either. I'm pretty sure he's the main youth coach who brought up Cesc and Pique. They've mentioned his name during interviews a few times.

Players aren't brought up by one coach, they have a new one each year.

He's gonna do like Piqué: picking up some experience in the EPL and then come back stronger.
