Asked about the renewal of Barcelona defensive midfielder and Ivorian international Yaya Touré (26) (read more here), the player's agent Dimitri Seluk has said in an interview with Catalan sports paper El Mundo Deportivo that a deal has been found:
"Everything has been agreed upon. And on Friday or at the latest on Saturday, we'll sign the improved contract of Touré."
The paper claims that Touré will interrupt his holidays to return to Barcelona and sign the new deal, which would only consist of a pay rise and not of an extension of the contract duration.
Catalan sports paper Sport on the other hand claims that, besides almost doubling his wage, Tourés contract would be extended for one more year, until 2012.

I woud find it very hard to believe Barça would double his wages without adding a couple of years to the contract. I'm guessing it'll be a two-year extension.
Good News, very good news...
Great news
probably best news this summer..
Nicely done Barca! Now fix the other renewals so you can concentrate on bringing some fresh blood into the squad!
super news!
@JR
It's believable. I think he was on 1.5m or so before. He probably wanted 5-6 in order to extend for 2 or more years. They probably compromised and went 3-4 and 1 extra year. But this situation will happen again in a year or so because this agent has been known to cause a ruckus as early as possible.
Really well done Barca, this is the best news all summer, except for the expected transfer of Villa. Touré is a rock in defence, and always plays out of trouble. Just what Iniesta and Xavi need to play their free flowing football.
