Zaragoza wants Caceres on loan

Asked about the rumours linking Barcelona central defender and Uruguay international Martín Cáceres (22) with a loan move to Zaragoza, Zaragoza sports director Antonio Prieto has confirmed the interest at a press conference:

"It's a player we have been working on, we've followed him. Now we're trying to get him to Zaragoza. Let's see if we can close a deal next week. We're interested and I would like to have the player with us. It's the profile of players we're looking for and who could come on loan with a buy option."

Catalan sports paper Sport claims that the negotiations between the clubs are well-advanced and that a deal could be announced soon. Barcelona's technical department would have given the green light for the operation. Argon regional radio station Aragón Radio claims that Zaragoza wants to sign Cáceres on a permanent deal.

quote of the day.

Cesc said: "Of course my family would understand if I signed for Real Madrid because they love me, they want me to be happy and what is best for me. They'd support me - whichever club I joined. My family will always be there for me - whatever decision I make.

"They're the ones who are always by my side."

Barcelona have also been linked with a move to recapture the prodigal son who fled home as a teenager.

Curiously, Fabregas admitted it would be a difficult dilemma if he had to choose between Real and Barca but confessed he is proud to be aware of their interest in him.

He added: "At the moment it's not happened so I don't have to choose. For any player it gives great pride that those two clubs come to sign him. It would be a difficult choice."

With all due respect...

How can a catalan even imagine wearing that shirt? He says Guardiola is his idol! He will break a lot more hearts than Figo. I've lost all my respect for Fabregas. If you ask Iniesta - he'd never say such things even though Florentino would beg him on his knees to join RM - he'd never even consider it. Why? Cause Iniesta is class.

I think a loan move to Zaragoza would be great for Caceres as he was excellent for Recreativo and being on loan to Zaragoza was good for Pique's progression.

Why are people de-railing threads and talking about Fabregas. He is over-rated and a little spoilt brat. I don't understand some people's obsession with him.

Loaning Caceres out for 1 year is a good idea but no buy option.

betraying us was already foolish, i dnt think his family would be happy if he played for Madrid. They were all raised and lived long time in Barcelona? Busquets - Xavi - Iniesta... i hate Fabregas now!

a loan deal to a great club like zaragoza would be anice thung for caceres, but never include the buy option in it,after one year there i think he shoud come back home cos barca is his home.AND i dont really know what concerne we blaugranas think we have with fabregas,he as left he has left, lets forget the fact that he is a catalan.he is a real traitor,so lets just forget him and accept the fact that he is never a barca player.he is not the only catalan to leave barca by that forget him,i hate hearing nes about a traitor.and i agree with ANONYMOUS that iniesta will never talk like that,YES cos iniesta his a true cule.

Pique took a year at zaragoza if i remember correctly. Perhaps they can work with caceres to improve him.
