Shakhtar not willing to sell Chyhrynskiy

Asked about the rumours linking Shakhtar Donetsk central defender and Ukrainian international Dmytro Chyhrynskiy (22) with a move to Barcelona (read more here), Shakhtar president Rinat Akhmetov has unconfirmedly told journalists yesterday that the player is not for sale.

Shakhtar would be aware of the interest of Barcelona and a possible bid of 15 million euro° but would want to hold on to their key players this summer.

It's upsetting that a guy like Abiol who is a full cap and has been good for a couple of years in La Liga now cost Real Madrid 15m euros in a super inflated transfer season. Meanwhile we paid 16.5 million for Caceres who had one good year on a terrible team and wasn't even ready to start for Villarreal. As good of a prospect as Chyhrynskiy might be, his relatively obscurity and non-Spanish nationality means he should cost less than Albiol, but he won't to us, that's just maddening as a fan.

James, we are getting soon 28 year old Bruno Alves for 30m euros. Don't worry, be happy. :)

On the other hand: Real paid last season 11 million for Garay, who they apparently not even want anymore...

Caceres could still get there. And Albiol had one more year on his contract, so that price dropped seriously.

And we picked up Piqué for only 5, that's far better than Albiol for 15.

Getting lucky on Pique doesn't change the fact that Albiol - a direct comparison to Caceres, was a much better transfer than the one we made.

Pique is more like 7 as well, and he shouldn't even have cost 5+2. He was in his last year of his contract with no desire to play at Manchester United.

Garay may not be wanted but he's no worse than Caceres. And we were willing to pay 14 million for Garay so them paying 11 million is still better business.

You're right, Caceres may still come good. But it doesn't change the fact we overpaid for him, by a LOT.
