[2008] Meeting on Trezeguet next week

this post was published exactly one year ago:

Italian sports paper Tuttosport claims that Barcelona officials, amongst which Barcelona economic vice president Ferran Soriano, will travel to Turin next week to meet with Juventus representatives and to make a formal offer for Juventus forward David Trezeguet (30). Barcelona would plan to launch a first bid of 12-15 million euro°.

New Barcelona manager Josep Guardiola would be pushing the club to sign the Frenchman but Juventus doesn't seem willing to let Trezeguet go. Trezeguet, who knows Spanish which would make it more easy to adapt to the city and the club, would like the idea of teaming up with his former team-mate Thierry Henry.

This is pure madness on Barcelona's part! There's no way that Guardiola could be pushing for this guy. I'm sure Laporta and/or Txivi would veto his demand in a heartbeat! This has to be coming from ontop. And if your realy serious about acquiring him why make such a low ball initial offer for him? It's not only a waste of time but it's also a sign of disrespect to both Trez and Juventus! Don't be like AC Milan.

Well it just goes to show, once again, that Guardiola's not a clever human being...
He's made the worst decision in his life by agreeing to coach Barsa. With him, Barsa will win maximum of 5 games out of the first 15, will be knocked out of the Champions league and he will be fired disgracefully, never to coach again.

12-15M is quite fair price but I don't see reason to buy this "old" player. Barca will get another goalless Henry while they selling family silver-Giovani. Maybe Krkic will be next to leave. Who knows. For that amount of money(12-15M) they could get Gomez, younger, faster and stronger player. Exactly, Barca act just like AC Milan or Chelsea or Real. Pure nonsense.
