International: Spain under-21 close to elimination

Spain u-21 lost 0-2 to England u-21 yesterday. Barcelona player Bojan started the game and was replaced by Capel after one hour of play. After two games, Spain is close to being eliminated from the tournament. They now must beat Finland on Monday and hope England defeat Germany.

hahah, big blunders from Joe Hart and Richards(if I am rigth).
Nice save from Asenjo on the penalty.
I want him despite VV extended his contract.

They are struggling, but I also think the expectations for this team is way too high. It would be fair if they hadn't lost six first choice players: Fabregas, Silva, Mata, Pique, Ramos, and Busquets.

Impressive display from Asenjo so far.

They lost 2-3 players, (Pique, Busquets, Mata) not 6. Fabregas/Silva/Ramos were never going to play on the U21 side, they've been fixtures on the full side. They're missing strength and strikers. Teams just push their wingers and Bojan out of the game, literally.

Yeah well james the point is not that fabby silva and ramos would not have played its that they were elligible and if spain had brought a full strength team as england did with walcott it would have been a different story

England played alright, better than first game. Spain were poor yet again. Excellent penalty save though!

eligible? what are you talking about ramos fab and silva have been on the team for a long time now, there was no way they would of gone to U21. there is no guarantee busquets mata or pique would of changed their fate, spain was poor the last U21 they are poor now. accept the fact that spain U21 is no match for for the other super powers of the world. england and italy have great teams and it's spain fault they have no experience players and must call on the younger players. personally i think spain's team is on par with england and italy the way they are now it's just that they played badly so stop with excuses of this player should be here and that player should be there cause from the get go you new cesc ramos and silva are all national players whether they were eligible for U21 or not, a real team knows how to cope and spain didn't do that.

Sigh you are an idiot sir, the SKYSPORTS reporters who were covering the game said that Spain were missing 6 or 7 players who could have played but were in South Africa and it was as if Spain ahd sent their real U-21 team to South Africa. Nobody is talking about winning or losing. I SAID and read closely because you apparently have a problem reading and understanding

"Yeah well james the point is not that fabby silva and ramos would not have played its that they were elligible and if spain had brought a full strength team as england did with walcott it would have been a different story"

Key point, i'm not discussing if fabregas silva and ramos are national team players. I said "IF"
notice the big IF spain had brought their players who were elligible, not if spain had brought those who were likely to come if they didnt make the spanish national team. IF they had brought all of there elligible players like england did, it may have been a different story.

Nobody is making any excuses, both games spain have played have been horrible. The only bright spot for the tournament has been asenjo.

You are a crazy man, spain is on par? This is england's best team of this age, compare it to spain's best players of the same age and you end up comparing theo walcott to silva. let me guess you'd rather have theo walcott. LOL.
