Picture of the day: Laporta

Barcelona president Joan Laporta was earlier this week for a few days in Israel, where he attended the wedding of a daughter of player's agent Pini Zahavi. Manchester United player Rio Ferdinand and Chelsea chief executive Peter Kenyon were also present.

During his stay, Laporta also visited in Jerusalem the Wailing Wall and the Church of the Resurrection, where he burnt a candle for the passed season.

Do you anyone of the political talkers even live in Israel or her neighbors? Have you experienced the thing that happen around there? if not, stop making stupid comments. you CANNOT talk about it that way unless you're part of it... "Worse than the holocaust"... when will stupidity end?

and to the topic:
Oh how much i wanted to catch him somewhere and have a chat... if i only had known before he was coming, he caught me by surprise.
Nice to see him visiting the Wall... It's a spiritually uplifting place, i just love it.

Some reporters caught him and asked him about Gai and f from what i remember he said: "We like Gai alot, Guardiola knows him and knows he is a good player and he will have his chance in the first team"

BTW pep, and all other people, Gai had an interview with the Israeli media regarding the Israel U-21 national team which he refused to join for the U-21 World Cup qualifiers, and that he prefers in the meanwhile to stay at Barcelona.
Patriotism is high in Israel and opinions were splitted about his decision talking about disloyalty to his country and selfishness from the one hand and concern for his future on the other.

Anyone would like me to translate it?

Socrates said...

Dan R: I do think you CAN talk about things you don't have experienced or else there soon be no one left to tell about the WWII. But I agree about the "worst than holocoust" comment, just made me sick.

And yes the interview with Gai is indeed interesting, I want to hear more about that.

No, this I can not respect.

@Dan R

i understand hebrew , and i read your newspaper and israel internet pages . 95% people are happy when a Arabic guy get killed or injured by car accident or by israele soldier.

Israel Ministers think its ok to throw a 1 Ton bomb in a building where there is a hamas member to kill him and his another 30 neighbours that die with him its there own fault to live in the same building .
but ofcource israel say "we will investigate on that"

Israele soldiers have a funny tshirt wearing with a preganant woman and its written 2 souls 1 bullet (israelis humor)this was revealed by a member of the israele perlament

so believe me everybody who know more about the conflict will hate israel more and more ...

about the girl from wikipedia

Rachel Aliene Corrie (April 10, 1979 – March 16, 2003) was an American member of the International Solidarity Movement (ISM) who traveled to the Gaza Strip during the Second Intifada. She was killed by a bulldozer operated by the Israel Defense Forces (IDF) while attempting to disrupt its actions

Eitheryou really are an American (north) or you are just try to make us laugh. Either way you succeed.

Americans don''t seem too inteligent to me. Last night i heard of a investigattion which showed that over 30 % of americans are illiterate and that 32 % don't know who the president is in USA. The same text said that 10 % of the 25 000 people asked, tought that Sweden was the capital of Danmark.

Dan R said...

I have no problem people having opinions, but the lack of information about the situation for people who aren't involved means these people have no solid ground to their opinions.

You say you read in papers you read in comments... well it's BS.
When you read Barca want every player you believe it? each paper chooses it's side, whether its pro-war or anti-war, and making assumptions basing on these papers is ludicrous!

When your town gets hit by a missile every 5 minutes, talk to me. Israel is just responding to the threats.

I am maybe biased, as i am currently a soldier in the Israeli Defence Forces, and by all means i want to defend my family and friends living here, and if by defending them i must destroy a house who is occupying a frickin terrorist, so be it.

The Arabs around us are spineless, letting terrorists control them. only lately Lebanon and Iran seem to have opened their eyes to the West world. hope it continues this way and maybe someday we can talk like human beings.

p.s
Theres nothing wrong with a civilized discussion about politics, as long as you keep it taht way, actually it's kinda refreshing not talking about Ibra and Eto'o :D

What I don't understand is how come Israelis are so selfish. Why can't you guys share the beach; maybe there can be a chance for peace if you just share the beach. You can't claim the beach for yourselves every1 should have an opportunity to enjoy the water. I maybe American, I maybe misinformed however Peace and Love will crush Hate, Ignorance, and the killings of innocent people. @DanR... If a bomb is dropped on a house that houses a "terrorist group", and even if there is 1 innocent does that not make Israel terrorist as well for the killings of innocent.

You guys in the middle east need to Chill out and listen to Obama. If we were going around blaming each other for stuff that happened in the past we would always be at war. For godsakes we dropped an ATOMIC bomb on japan and look at our relations with them Now. Granted they attacked pearl harbor, but you see my point if we cannot put our differences in the past we will be forever at war

Marc4barca said...

what are you talking about japan is secretly serving Americans as slaves and are planning to dismantle europe in 2012. caribbean islands will be caught in cross fire and jesus will descend from heaven to get a glass of lemonade while this happens. seriously why do we always have to get political on a sports blog leave that to the politics.

Everyone has a right to live. The Jews have been slaughtered for centuries. Today, they are strong enough to defend themselves, which is a good thing as far as am concerned.

Palestine voted to power a terrorist organization by the name of Hamas.By this, they have ensured misery to themselves for many long years.Hamas needs conflict and bloodshed with Israel as peace would favor former president Yassir Arafat's party.

When the people vote for a bunch of terrorists who fire useless rockets to provoke Israel, what else do they expect in return???
The arabs/muslims in that region still dream of beating Israeli tanks and helicopters with stones and catapults.Should i say more about their intelligence??

Some months back,Hamas fired missiles at Israel, killing one or two of its citizens. In return, the offensive action of Israel claimed more than 1000 lives. Now who is reponsible??

she was christian american.

what you show us is a israele propaganda.

i can send u thousend of arabic propaganda but i choosed to show u a story of a girl peace activist who went there to try stop killing children and you killed her.

the funny thing is that you consider the one who is fighting against you terrorist but in fact you Dan R is a terrorist , every person who join Israele Nazi Soldiers Team is a terrorist , just because you are killing children with american weapons and soldier clothes doest make any different from the 19 years old guy who throw a rocket on you.

just remember there may be somethig after the death

Both Villa and Ribery had previously stated that they would prefer Barca over Madrid but in recent weeks, it appears that the Spanish capital has suddenly become the duo’s preferred destination.

words from an author on goal. i told you guys villa and ribery changed their mind cause real madrid have money and kaka and ronaldo. there is nothing i hate more than players acting fickle and going against their word. no room for people like villa and ribery in barca.

@whoever started the racist rant in an article about Laporta

What about guys who kill soldiers by cutting their throats alive, posting them on videos on the net and screaming their God's name while doing it? Murderers aren't specified by their race, country, sex or whatever sh1t you prefer. If you want to hate, hate murderers and not specific races. I myself am Indonesian and many such racist murders happen here. You can also add racism-driven rape to that.

rafouka said...

ok dan R i can understand ur patriotism but i think i am more patriotic myself.first of all i would like to answer u by saying that i am actually ur neighboor as i live in beirut lebanon and i am a druze so no muslim.i lived the war of 2000 and the war of 2006 against lebanon and i saw what happened in ghaza and i say again shame on u.my feelings didn't change than the last post.so i am actually ur neighboor like it or not and i am living the incidents.the nazi did provoqued a holocaust in jews so thats what the jews decided to do in arab in general and palestine in particular.like it or not all the world is watching.u know that my reasons are right but i know u will never admit it.so no papers as u claim.

ok i will tell u why the arabs r fighting u like hamas and hizbulah.
the main reason is because we think this is not ur land and u will say that ur grand father from 3000 years was born in israel and u should claim the land sorry man its 2009 now and this is ridiculous.u r raping our land.thats what we think and thats what we should do.u would have done the same in my place.sooner or later israel will end like it or nor and time will tell maybe not in my generetion but it will happen.ur country doesen't have the caracteristics of a country.i ask u a question:what the hell of a country this is that u can have the nationality just because u r jews?its ridiculous too.but trust me man like it or not again israel will end with the end of the usa that send tons of billions of dollars per year to israel.ur country will never find peace whatever happened.but u should expect maybe not now that the arabs will force u out of this land exactly how the nazi drove u out of europe.i know this will never happen using a stone a knife or a rifle but it will happen using time and patince.israel is the representitive of the demon on land.and if i was israelian and i had to go to the army i'd rather go to jail as i am a druze.

time will tell.
al mawt li israel.
all the world know that we r right and u r wrong but no one will ever say this because u know israel and jews so plz.israel is an american military base.BTW i like the usa afterwhat they gave to this world as they gave the world many things but the usa made one mistake and i hated that mistake and this mistake is helping israel.

It baffles me that Dan R, rafouka and others almost dislike each other over their comments and yet I bet, the moment they meet each other (if)at Nou Camp, I'm sure they'll hug each other over any Barca's win.

So why can't all of us put away our differences and look towards what unite us. Leave all this hate talk to the politicians.

PEACE

@Marc4Barca Don't worry bro. Wow Why am I awake? Anyways http://www.marca.com/2009/06/19/futbol/equipos/real_madrid/1245362832.html

If you can't read Spanish the gist of the article is that after Perez claimed that Villa is in the bag. Villa announced that he be let go to any team, but Real Madrid. However the article does mention Valencia pushing him towards chelsea... I imagine cuz they offered more $$$... But we all know he don't wanna play in epl, and what other team in spain would love to have him??? :D

Anonymous said...

@buj

its very easy to explain .

what will you feel for a person that is in army who kills everyday people from your country ?

the feelig that rafouka has will be the same like the feelig Dan R will have if he meet a german Nazi official .

it is the same .

you may think Nazis killed more than the jews but its easy to explain why , germany was then the strongest in the world so they could kill as much as they want the israelis will do the same if they could but they always kill as much as there loby will be able to cover in the usa and tell the americans that the israelis are defendeing there self.

do you think that if hitler won the war , he will be the bad guy in the history ???

ofcource not.i do think he was evil but if he won al will speak with him)

I dont want Israel to get eliminated and the jews go away i want that there will be a peace where all can live together but the Israelis doesnt want this and because of that i am sure israel will one day dissapear ...

Je me'apelle Samuel said...

I'm sorry for starting all this talk as it has turned to a sour route. I was simply making a joke to make people laugh. I didn't know hate like this still existed in the world. I find it very sad that people can be consumed by hate in this day of age. All this hate will be the end of you both.

The sad part is all these people dying for shit that happened in the past. Live your own life and make your own history. Don't be a slave to the ideals and beliefs of others even if those others are your leaders. Take a note from Iran and fight for what you believe in through NON VIOLENT Means

You Heard me BOTH. Jews and Arabs, if you don't get your act straight we (As in Americans) will drop many ATOMIC BOMBS and let the survivors fight for the sand, as that will be the only land left. Then maybe you guys can share the beach and stop fighting.

Make love not war

pep said...

End of discussion. You all had your say but we won't solve anything here, so back on topic: football.

buj said...

@ Anony

I do understand the feelings but this a forum for Barca fans so let us be amicable with each other, other than ofcourse about football.

P.S. I won't go deeper with this topic as I'll never end.

Anonymous said...

Je me'apelle Samuel: the ignorant has spoken.
you broke the record of the most void, empty and shallow group of words ever put together in one sentence. congrats.
now back to football.
Egypt has always played possession football with slow passing starting from the back line, but true we are missing the Xavi and Iniesta type of players, but we compensate for that by other means.
we could have actually done better if we had one of our main 3 strikers fit and in form, Mido, Amr Zaki & Mota'eb. that would allow us to play with someone in front of Zidan and leaving Abou Trika who is our main playmaker, more free space and the ability to get the ball from early part of the field which result in better and more concentrated attacks, but I can't complain, now we have to beat the US, which is never easy, even with the two defeats and two players out.

guys somebody now where does aboutria play , maybe barca sign him as a sub .

Anonymous said...

in Al-Ahly, Barca will play against them in the Tottenham tournament.
he is already 30, besides it will not easy to persuade Al-Ahly to sell him, he is a fundamental part of the squad for 6 years now and irreplaceable.

Anonymous said...

maybe al ahly will like to have gudi for him i guess the wage will be a problem

Anonymous said...

then, as an Al-Ahly supporter, I will go and piss on the club main gate. I would personally prefer you Anonymous to play instead of Gudi, in Barca too. even though your IQ is not the highest, I think you are ready to be the next Gudi, even surpass him, not that it is that hard..

You love the druze? No doubt, since they sold out their Palestinian brethren - both muslim and christian alike - back in 1948. Betrayed them and joined the stronger team, the treacherous zionists. The british colonial scum taught you the divide and conquer tactic well didn't they? The funny thing here is that your army is called Defense forces. Now thats a good one. The force that used to comprise of known terrorist militias like Haganah, Lehi/Stern gang and Irgun that massacred innocent people, rapes, torture, summary executions, ethnic cleansing. I hope you are proud of your history. The soul of Israel is rotten and filled with decay. But kudos to you for fooling the world about what happened back then and what still is happening in Palestine. Nah, sorry Dannyboy, but for the amount of blood you have on your hands, for throwing one million people out of their homeland in 1948 and again in 1967, YAHWEE will never forgive you. The Palestinians WILL Return to their homes.
