Transfer history: Iniesta had deal with Madrid

Catalan sports paper Sport reports that former Real Madrid presidential candidate Juan Palacios claims that he had a deal with Barcelona attacker and Spanish international Andrés Iniesta (25) to join Real Madrid if he would win the elections of 2006.

Palacios lost from former Real Madrid president Ramón Calderón with around 250 votes but could have been declared the winner if the votes by postal mail would have been counted.

I don't believe this. Palacios just wants some attention.

What a stupid attempt to destroy the good mood the Barça fans have. ;-)

And laporta promissed he had beckham wrapped up. People say stupid things during elections. A recent real madrid president promissed cesc kaka and robben. They only got robben after his stock was falling and the same could be said for kaka with his injuries. These presidents say anything to get in.

lol, why do Real Madrid keep thinking they can nab Iniesta?

It doesn't matter what happened three years ago. He's a cule now because the fans love him. Don't expect people to be loyal to their clubs all their life.

There's even a video of Iniesta when he was like 12 years old saying that he supported Madrid.

Iniesta himself told that this were a lie. I don't think you could get a better source than that.
