Barcelona and Milan talk about Eto'o

Catalan sports papers Sport and El Mundo Deportivo claim that Barcelona sports director Txiki Begiristain met yesterday with Italian intermediary Ernesto Bronzetti, the representative of AC Milan for the Spanish market, to discuss the transfer summer so far.

Sport claims that AC Milan is interested in Barcelona forward and Cameroon international Samuel Eto'o (28) and that Bronzetti has sounded out Barcelona on the situation of the Cameroonian striker.

British tabloid The Daily Mirror meanwhile claims that Manchester City confirmed yesterday that they have held preliminary talks over a deal to bring Eto'o to Manchester. The English club would offer Eto'o a year salary of 8 million euro and officials from City have reportedly been in Spain for talks. The club would be confident they will be able to sign the player for 29 million euro°.

David Villa..... i Guess ..

No Villa is going to Madrid. I think if Eto'o leaves we will end up buying Ibra for sure.

Villa to Madrid, Ibrahimovic only leaving for money we don't have, Forlan not leaving Atletico Madrid, Benzema only leaving for money we don't have, Torres not leaving Liverpool.

I guess we'll end up with Luca Toni.

Forget Zlatan. Inter again repeated he's worth more than Kaka and probably the same as Cristiano, so don't even go there. Let's don't do this fantasy thing and stop acting as if we have 150 million to spend...

Iniesta Goooooaaaaal !!!!! said...

Maybe we can buy Robinho (he can leave when a team that plays champions League wants him) so Robinho on the left and Henry in the center....

Why do they always sell our "best"players to Milan ?
1.Rivaldo went there
2.Ronaldinho
3.Etoo (maybe)
4.Will be Messi?

Keep Etoo , buy Ashley Young and Mascherano , sell Guddy and Hleb and 2 or more players on loan and try to spend less then 40mil.
Then we got great team , or just keep players and get backup for left back and maybe central defender.

furymaker : the players we sold to them spent their best years in our club n only then we sold them. wat did Ronaldinho do there? nothing more than being a shadow of Kaka. there are still doubts whether he would play anywhere close to how he was even after Kaka left! so ur arguments are no gud... same applies for Rivaldo... Eto's case is different as he is trying to rob us with his high salary n we have no other option than to sell him.

we should sell Eto'o only if Villa is going to sign for Barca.Villa or Eto'o!

Eto should stay in Barca, because he is in the heart of most of the fans of FCB, he will become a legend soon..let it be in Barcelona . . . Dont sell Eto'o

I Barca sells Eto'o, in my opinion we must land Villa first, otherwise we could end up chasing mediocre panic buys if Villa doesnt arrive. Villa may not the big busbreaker the team needs but he is the best replacement for Eto'o and we cant let him join RM, thats for sure. Villa´s RM move would be the last straw.

Now the reports say that Valencia is pushing Villa towards Chelsea or Barca because Valencia´s president, Manuel Llorente, has apparently decided that he`s prepared to sell Villa to any team rather than to Real Madrid. If RM has really ended their Villa push then Barca should act quickly and seal the deal. But Barca may not be ready to pay 40-45 million for Villa plus loan Bojan. But it seems that Eto'o is leaving anyway and Bojan is not ready to start lots of games if Barca wants to remain competitive. If Eto'o leaves then he should join ManC who (unlike Milan) is ready to pay decent fee and in addition City is not Barca´s direct rival in Europe at least for now. We know that Milan´s transfer policy is again like: "here is our 10 million, take it or leave it" and they want to land Eto'o next year on a free transfer.

After the striker case is decided, the team should buy a talented left winger(not Malouda or Young!) if we want to have more depth. Chasing Mascherano doesnt make any sense unless Pep starts to use double pivote in almost every game, that would mean that Iniesta could play more often as a winger. But like we know, Benitez has been unwilling to sell his key players and now they have realistic chance to win EPL next season

If Etoo goes, we need to replace him with another quick player and the best one out there is Aguero. He is worth any amount of money, even 55 million €.

Perez said yesterday its only a matter of time before villa is a real madrid player. I dont think he is gonna come, but football is funny, never say never.

I don't know about you all but do RM really has any more funds for big money tranfer/s? We know Perez promises Kaka and CR but he got them at inflated prices.

Now almost every top player is linked to them and yet can they afford the prices? What I'm implying here is we want Villa/Ribery and their prices were inflated just because RM is interested. Even if they're not, we know what happens to the transfer market.

Are they i.e RM upsetting the whole transfer market just so they can "play" "if we don't have them neither can you" at least for the current window? Do they have the funds to do all this in one swoop?

This week it was made public that Madrid has opened two new credit lines - banco santander and caja madrid - worth together 150 million euro.

buj said...

@ groga

Is this after Kaka and CR? Coz these two alone cost them 136mil Pounds, I guess that's more than 150mil Euro.

Unless they start confirming sales of some of their current squad, I doubt they can go for anyone expensive.

I'm only saying this as I don't want Barca to be duped into buying mediocre players now just because we can't afford the best and use up our funds unnecessarily when we can use them when things settle down during mid-season transfer window.

groga said...

It got public this week, but don't if they had a del before. It is anyway expected that it will help to fund their transfers.

I think in euros it's 94+67 or somethign like that so that would be around 160.

And they have apparently half of the squad for sale: the six Dutch guys, Diarra, Heinze and Saviola.

buj said...

And yet no movements there. I've read most teams find their players salary too high. Even Robben was told to leave and take a pay-cut with any new club or else he will not be registered with the first team next season. So unless someone is sold, I don't think they can go for anyone expensive anymore for now.

Does anyone else know about RM's finances and whether they are just talk and yet unable to do the walk?

barca just buy freakin tevez and call it a done deal for the transfer window...

SJP said...

only let him go if we get villa. if he does we get around 30mil, plus guddy 5mil, plus 30 odd transfer budget, so around 60-70mil.

villa - best part 0f 40mil so we have 30mil for LB, DM, LW. zhirkov is good option as can cover henry and abidal, or other way round and he would be around 20mil, so we have 10mil odd for DM, mash too expensive, melo going to arsenal so who can we buy?

James said...

As long as we don't sell to Milan I'm fine with anything. Milan is one of the cheapest clubs out there and they'll try to get Eto'o for a major discount. Eto'o will also have to concede a lot on wages to be able to play there.

Eto'o is one of the most underrated player when I comes to market value. 30 million is a joke compared to what others ask for Villa, Ibra or Torres. Sure there might be age and contract factor but OUR TWO CHAMPIONS LEAGUE TITLE WERE HUGELY THANKS TO HIM. It irritates me every time I see his price tag!!

R10FCB said...

only 30 mill? i know hes on his last year but he is worth more than that!. with the transfer market going crazy people should be throwing numbers like 50 or 60 mill for him.
i agree with what iniesta goal said, if we cant get villa or even if we do get villa we should get robinho for left wing and use henry for rotation for both or starting as a CF.
it would also be nice to see robinho score against madrid at their home ground, that would really piss them off.

no one is going to give you 60 million for a player you could get for free the next year!!!! 30 million i about the best we could hope for

just leave and do for everyone a favor everything good must have an end so this is ours
