Talks with West Ham on transfer Gudjohnsen

British newspaper The Times claims that Barcelona has held yesterday talks with West Ham on the transfer of Barcelona attacker and Icelandic international Eidur Gudjohnsen (30), whose contract expires next year.

At this point, the problem seems to be that Barcelona would not be willing to pay a part of the player's year salary of close to 5,5 million euro, something that is asked by the English club.

E: Guddy has one year left on his contract. The problem we have when we want to sell our players is that nobody wants to pay the wages for the players that we pay them. We pay 5.5m euros a year for Guddy? WTF?

Does anyone know about Dembele? He plays for Dutch side, AZ as striker. He can even play as winger or attacking midfielder. A complete attack-minded player. Barca, please get him as a backup for Messi or Ibra...

I honestly don´t want to see him leave - he´s a model professional, never complains, he likes the city - his boys are in-rolled in the Barca academy. He is a hard-worker and has a great attitude about him.

Would be a shame to see him go, I´m one of those rare Guddy-fans it seems, but I like him.

like gudjohnsens professionality too, but as a barcaplayer, i had never faith in him, as he never found his place into this team, with his almost always poor performances.
he has a really good character, but never understood him, for prefer a bench role over a regular place everywhere else

skoob, just bcoz he doesn't complain, u cant keep him life long. wats the point of working hard when u are not able to contribute much to the team? just bcoz his kids are in Barca academy, that doesn't mean that we nurture ad take care of Guddy too.

his time's up here and we've got to get some cash back or someone who we spent close to 15 mil.

sashi: But Guddy says he feels good in the city and it is not just one kid, but TWO kids that are in the Barca academy and have friends with the other kids. We can't just break this thing up, his family is settled, and it would be totally cruel to force him and his family out just because of some money.

i thought it was guddy that wanted to leave

He'll have to leave anyway next year, Anony. Those kids are used to it, I guess, that's the life of a kid of a footballer. The paycheck will soften the pain...

He's clearly one of the players that is overpaid looking at what they have and can offer the team. He's probably getting a lot more than Keita or Busquets, and maybe even Touré, who are all more important.
