Eto'o is in Milan

Italian sports paper La Gazzetta dello Sport claims that Barcelona forward and Cameroon international Samuel Eto'o (28) is in Milan, where he is kept hidden from the press.

After negotiations yesterday evening between the player's agent, Josep Maria Mesalles, and Inter Milan officials, the difference between offer and demand would only be 1 million euro. While Eto'o has reportedly dropped his salary demands from 12 million euro to 11 million euro (plus incentives), Inter would have raised their offer from 9 to 10 million euro (plus incentives).

The duration of the contract would already have been agreed upon with Eto'o, who would also be negotiating with Barcelona about his exit bonus, expected to sign a five-year deal with the Italian champions. A new meeting would be planned later this morning and a deal is believed to be close.

he just wants money thats what I can only say from the reports I read.

Everyone wants money, stop that stupid argument

You think Zlatan will pay for free? Xavi, Iniesta, Puyol? No.

barca nike said...

Anonymous dont u think he is asking for alot of money

tero said...

I wouldn't mind having "just" one million in one year but if I could have more,I would not decline :P

Don Luis said...

Every player wants money.

Adebayor said it best. If a player doesnt care about money, then why are they playing in big clubs instead of their local clubs in their home country?

Anonymous said...

If Inter wants to pay that, what's the problem? Mind your own business.

Don Luis said...

@ Tero:

Footballers earn nothing compare to Athletes in the United States.

A-Rod earn $30M alone from contract per season for the next 10 yr.

Kobe, Iveron, KG all earned 22-25M each per season.

Even hockey player make more then footballers.

A rod alone earns 3x of messi.

Exit bonus?

Does a player who signs for another club get an exit bonus from his former team?

You've got to be kidding me.

john said...

eto'o wont get a single peny extra from fcb for his exit.may be he wants bonus he deserved for winning UCL and la liga which is approximately 4 m euro.boy get the money and rush to inter.

trez said...

For your information: every player gets an exit bonus, which is part of the transfer fee.

Don Luis said...

Plus considering that Giant football clubs are among the most wealthy franchises in all of sports.

Clubs have the money.

Meursault said...

Exit bonus? He's got to be kidding right? he's already shifted his worth from the club to himself by not re-signing and therefore getting sold so his new club can pay a high salary. If he kills this deal because he insists on an outrageous exit bonus, he will really lose my respect,

groga said...

For the Eto'o bashers, we know you want to portray him as a greedy guy but apart from the argument that EVERY footballer is greedy and wants to have the last penny from the club, you can't deny that if it would have been all about the money:

1. he would have been in Uzbekistan last summer
2. he would have been in City earlier this summer

john said...

not true trez.ronnie clould get 15% of the transfer money for his move to milan.but he dropped the demand.thats why we sold him for 21 m euro rather than 25.as far i know there is no such clause in eeto'o's contract.

trez said...

He's entitled to an exit bonus like every employee who gets kicked out by his company before the end of the contract. You can't blame him for that.

And Zlatan will also get an exit bonus from Inter, that's in the contracts of most players: part of the transfer fee the club recieves goes to the player. Live with it.

Anonymous said...

so eto'o is finally leaving.who will be following him at inter?i guess groga....anyone else waiting for a flight to milan lol

groga said...

You go and follow Laporta to his dirty business in Uzbekistan when he leaves next year...

Anonymous said...

good luck eto'o.we all will pledge the board to give you some exit bonus to facilitate your exit

skanjos said...

exit money are in the contract people, yes its true ,many of you dont know cause its not on football manager but every player gets money for a transfer or a contract break.

i bet it will be in the amounts of 1-6 million.this wont be a stone in the transfer negotiations, both teams know this.

barca4life said...

I suspect we may have a few less people on this board after this deal goes through because some people think the name of the club is FC Samuel Etoo. Maybe there is an fcitransfers.blogspot.com somewhere that they can join.

Imagine i am on soccernet having to argue with people that barcelona is not racist for selling etoo. And one dude even suggested that barcelona if they were not racist could have sold henry instead of etoo to bring new blood into the squad. LOL. Isnt henry black? Or is it only racist to sell etoo?

Anonymous said...

groga I am sick of this argument that if he wanted money he would have left for those pits of shit. he is willing to sacrifice the extra million he will earn there to get to play with teams like Inter and compete in the highest level which is the dream of everyone, and because it makes advertisments, winning bonuses, and fame which is priceless. Adebayor chances to actually win something are higher now with Man City than with Arsenal .

Anonymous said...

its void argument.even henry is mix.we respect him.we had no problem with ronaldinho as long as he was serious about football.ibra is joining us has left bitter feelings for epl and madrid fans.they are simply scared of us.

groga said...

Thanks, Anony. You just proved my point that is't not only about the money...

Anonymous said...

barca4life hahahahahaahh yes it is racist only to sell Eto'o ahahaha I am black and I am not offended by Barca behavior, they have 4 black players 3 of them are muslims even !! I mean seriously, what the fuck?
why did guardiola bring Keita then?
I will like it more when those fans are supporting intermilan.

Money, money, money...

Eto'o is not smart. He shoud close the deal soon as he can. He has got 2 injuries in the knee. If he decides to stay one year in barça and got injuried again... he'd earn nothing...

He shoud take 9mil per year and the 5 years inter offers.

Please Samu don't f*ck the operation!

Anonymous said...

if eto'o demand any money which he is entitled for according to the agreement i have no problem with it.good luck eto'o.will miss you as a player not as a person

Anonymous said...

Eto'o is not smart? He has been outsmarting the Barcelona board for the next year. He has the key in hands.

Anonymous said...

I like the idea that we mistreated Eto'o why can't he just fuck off already, yes we are racist, actually we should have never signed him in first place and went for Villa, and leave Eto'o to his beloved Mallorca, I am sure he would have scored the same amount with Arango and Cleber Santana feeding him wonderful corses.

Anonymous said...

i will miss you groga when you will leave forever from fcbtransfers with your idol eto'o.

groga said...

I was here before you, I'm afraid, and I will be here long after glory hunters like you who only joined in after the treble, will have left...

Anonymous said...

he is not outsmarting anyone, any average fan knew his intention since last season, if he outsmarted them he would have left for free next season. I have seen much smarter moves by players than this, the fact that he is trying to do so in itself justify the Guardiola reasoning that Eto'o "feels" bad.

NouBarca said...

I am shcoked people are asking why Eto wants what belongs to him.
JT is yet to say he would stay at Chelsea. That the power of "£$"
R10 couldnt make such demands because he wasnt playing football when he left. AC was taking a huge risk. Eto is still firing, so he thinks he can place demands.
And nobody would follow Eto to Italy. yes, some of us like him, like we like some other players in the team, but thats not to say we put Eto before the Club.
My order is Club-Players-Board.
Notes I did not say Club>Player>Board.
I wish Eto all the best for the future and I wish Ibra loads of goals for FC Barca

i cant wait to see eto'o leaving.we need a change and thats eto'o.

djoef said...

If Valdes gets 7, why wouldn't Eto'o get 11? He's more than entitled to that. He has one more than any striker around. So sad to see all the haters here.

barca4life said...

Believe me nobody wanted rivaldo to stay more than me or ronaldinho. It hurt me to see them go, but that is life, and i still love Barcelona because no player is bigger than the club

Anonymous said...

Don't bash groga peops! He can't help it either ;-) No seriously, he's noth seeing it black/White as some other, there is always a gray zone..

Imo: eto'o's done really great and i think we don't know the entire story. But at this moment in team, please dude, sign the contract, because otherwise, we'll have some serious problems up front..

Adding to that: I think Zlatan as an individual player is a bit better, but eto'o's hunger and madrid-hate were always nice to watch :-). by bringing in Zlatan, the team as a whole might play even better! We'll see.. anyways, you can't expect to win the treble again, it might happen but chances are slim..

This year i would prefer winning the CL than the liga: no-one has won it 2 times in a row and winning it in Madrid, the same madrid that spend over 200 mill to win that CL.. SWEEEEET

barca4life said...

Etoo cant get 11 because nobody is paid higher than messi. We have a structure and the "face" of our club gets the highest wage. How would messi feel if we gave etoo the most money?

Anonymous said...

no one is sitting on their knees, let him warm the bench and let's see who is going to pay him what he asks for, if there were any one who is going to give him that, where are they now? where were they last year?
they are ready to pay Forlan clause to get a striker instead of him, but Atletico are smart enough to know that Eto'o in the dressing room is unbearable.
a player that wins so many trophies with a team yet manage to make the fans ask him to leave is the stupidest person ever. actually it takes some capabilities to reach such a feet, I salute you Eto'o and all who are going to follow you to the path of higher pay. I like to support Iniesta more who is more important to the team and earn less and never speak. all hail Iniesta the opposite of Eto'o (hey hey hey not in color)

djoef said...

11 in Italy is not the same as 11 in Spain.

ibra9 said...

his madrid ating brought nothing to us in past 2 seasons prior last season.we lst shamelessly in bernabu.pep came and identified the problem.he wanted ronnie, deco and eto'o out.first 2 players left quietly.only eto'o forced his stay.he had to prove something after spending last 2 seasons outside football pitch due to injury.messi, xavi and iniesta helped him to raise his stock.now he gets fat money from inter.he should just leave now without bringing any more trouble for pep

fret said...

I'm sure you would hehn be the first to cry when Iniesta should leave and then we wouldn't hear the "no player is bigger than the club" argument anymore...

groga said...

Who do you all think you are to say that someone "should" leave? As if anyone listens to you...

If you have a contract for one more year, you will leave just like that to a minor company if your boss tells you so? No way.

Anonymous said...

lol fret you eto'o fan should n't bring iniesta issue just to cover up eto'o.if iniesta leaves it would be because we fans don't want him anymore.he has 150 m euro clause.so his exit wont be easy.we fans will decide who will stay or leave.

Anonymous said...

not really fret I saw ronaldinho go out, same with Rivaldo and Kluivert and never complained to the point of calling fc barcelona names. the only time I questioned the board was selling Ronaldo, we had no cover for him and sold him for big money, that was a greedy act, see?? when I see barcelona board acting greedy I call it out. but I can't blame Laporta hte same person who brought Eto'o when GUardiola wants him out. if Xavi came out tomorrow and started asking for pay rise I will shoot him in the foot.

Anonymous said...

The fans have nothing to say, don't be so naive.

barca4life said...

Iniesta will not leave the club. He is a quiet player, the ultimate professional and even if he does go it will be with grace and honour. Didnt you hear what he said, i will stay until the club doesnt want me anymore. Those are the kind of players we want. But i repeat Cruyff came and left Maradona came and left romario came and left rivaldo came and left ronaldinho came and left and all of them were greater than etoo and iniesta. Its nothing new for players to leave, thats life.

ibra9 said...

you are wrong fret.eto'o mentioned he is fan of rcd mallorca not barca.he said he just works for barca but his heart is set on mallorca.if so then why don't he join them instead of inter or man city.he is just money hungry twat

fret said...

He asked (and got) a pay rise last year, so you apparently forgot to shoot him then...

Anonymous said...

Laporta was on the verge of leaving this year because of the power of voting. he is not naive, but you are less advanced than him.

ibra9 said...

xavi deserved pay rise.he does all the dirty jobs for eto'o supplies him shit load of goals yet he earns 2/3 rd of hi salary.

fret said...

Mallorca gave him a chance when nobody believed in him. Messi also is fan of Rosario, what's the problem? Messi is also money hungry because he's not playing for them? Double logics...

fret said...

Xavi will also do the dirty jobs for Zlatan and get 2/3 of his salry. You want to give Xavi another pay rise or Zlatan should accept a pay cut. Double logics...

ibra9 said...

messi said 100 times he will end up his career in fcb if we fans wants him to stay till then.eto'o never said that.rather he insulted fans by mentioning he just works here in barca which means he has n0o passion for the club.don't mix up messi with eto'o situation.messi is a cule since 13.eto'o case is totally different.

barca4life said...

Etoo said its just a job so why are people so agitated? Its just a job to him.

Anonymous said...

his asking was reasonable because he creates players like Eto'o and he is a product of the youth system, and he earns less than Eto'o!!!! and even after the pay rise he earns less than Eto'o. and he didn't create all that noise Eto'o is making, and once again there were many clubs willing to pay him his worth if we didn't. but with Eto'o, he is allrady paid more than what he is worth. and yes we hate him..why don't he just leave.
and leave barcelona to its loyal sons like Guardiola who has given this team his entire career until he wasn't wanted. in pep we trust.

Anonymous said...

exit bonus what??
wtf this man!

ibra9 said...

ibra just dropped his wage demand just to play for fcb whereas eto'o wanted another raise despite being 2nd highest earner in the club.

skanjos said...

i really start to think some people here are madrid fans bashing eto....

"Eto'o in the dressing room is unbearable" where did you see that, every player wants eto to stay, and even iniesta said he prefers eto to stay than ibra.

also you think fans decide who stays and who leave?jeez why am i trying..

on the funny now i know why pep wants eto out http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=QuUmiWHMDoU he felt so uncomfortable that he doesnt want this to happen hahahahahaha

fret said...

"messi said 100 times he will end up his career in fcb if we fans wants him to stay till then."

he said he wants to end his career at Rosario, just like Eto'o wants to end his career at Mallorca.

Eto'o is at least being honest, you believe all those emotional stories about "club love". Don't be naive, it's all about the money. If Xavi wouldn't have gotten his payrise last year, he wouldn't have signed the renewal. That's not wrong, that's just the way it is. They have a market value and wants to turn that into money.

Anonymous said...

we are happy with our Double logics why don't you just leave it to us? we like evil acts and support it.
fret why do you think barcelona wants to sell Eto'o?

skanjos said...

m8 ibra isnt dropping his wage demands, acording to tax he is gonna get more money playing for barcelona....also eto asked inter to pay him what ibra earns and propably he will settle for less.

fret said...

No, ivbra didn't drop anything. Because of the tax system in Sapin, he will have more than he had in Italy. And he still earns more than Xavi, who will do all his dirty jobs and provide him with goals (to say it in your words).

ibra9 said...

anyways we needed a change after winning treble to counter madrids transfer activities.we needed a fully motivated player like ibra.he is crazy to play with messi.he wants to win UCL.so the change looks good.we even needed change after winning UCL back in 2005-6.rickaard was afraid to do that and he was axed in couple of years.pep is smart.let me do his job

Anonymous said...

fret it is your problem that you think people don't honor their words. we enjoy being naive, we hope to never be as smart as you. and yes, through votes fans decides the policy of the club. when the fans saw that the club isn't doing good enough they went into riots and it paid off in the end. we do believe in this more than club project while to you it is just another club. to me Eto'o is just another player.

The socios can vote, that's not all the fans. Non-socio fans have nothing to say. They can only buy merchandising...

get sick of stupid talk by some people here, all the time about etoo. this blog was a place to discuss and having debates before some of you freaks climbed down from your trees and lowed down the level with immatury talk.
it's not about like etoo or not, it's about praising our players for what they did for our club, or criticize them with intelligent opinions and well-thaught arguments.
to me, i don't care about the business-stuff, as it's beyond the reach of anyone here, not involved into any action, without having the possibility to make decisions.
etoo will ever be a legend, even in 50 years, when most here are six feet deep and nameless, people will look back and remind him, as a part of the first spanish team, that won the treble, when they speak about one of the best barca-teams in it's history (who knows or cares, how the character of the players of the '92 squad were? no one, because that's not what counts. that's what makes the club big).
no one knows etoos or laportas or txikis or peps character and it's ridiculous to discuss about it, as for the TRUE fan, as a spectator from the outside, the performances should be important, which from etoo were always best and exemplary on the pitch, as also said and endorsed by his teammates (like xavi and puyol, who spoke last year of him, as the best signing after he stayed - CHARACTER!). he especially showed a good character, after he were told he's unwanted, but helped the team, even after that to win everything (all pieces of a whole must work to bring that success).
but sometimes fans seem to be like b******, as they fast forget what earlier was important.
would like to see zlatan too, but it's a sign of character, what makes also, not just a good fan, but also a good cule, to let him go in peace, after many here surely celebrated his goals too, and now turning into snakes, which is a natural thing by some characters and b***** in the world.
to call cules madridista or advice them to go to interblogs, etc. is also a lack of character and surely also a sign, that for some the evolution from monkey to human was never completed.
think about it and ask the man in the mirror...i'm out, afraid that dumbness could be infectious.
to all true cules, ONE LOVE & BARCA FOREVER, you know what makes our club, really more than a club!!!!!

NouBarca said...

Aussie Barca Fan said...

A Rod, Kobe and all these other American 'World Champions' (what garbage) earn more money than football players b/c their clubs don't have to pay transfer fees.

Once their contract finishes the become 'free agents' and can negotiate with any team they want. Sure they have 'trades' but really the players usually dictate what they want and where they want to go.

They try to balance it out with a 'salary cap' but the proof is that these francises move cities every few years once the owners make their money and when the teams go in decline.

You can't compare American sports with football. They have little tradition as their clubs change cities all the time and it's all about money.

I don't care how much Eto'o and Ibra earn. If they can get top dollar and clubs are willing to pay their salaries that's their problem. I just want Barca to finish on top.

Let me start by stating that I love Eto'o as a person and as a footballer. I like his passion and really wish him all the best in Inter if the deal goes through. I also beilieve that its his right to ask for money and negotiate and nothing is wrong with that. However, I really trust and have faith that Gurdiola is doing the best for the team. When a team wins everything change is sometimes needed to stimulate the hunger for success. Also Ibra will be a tactical solution for teams which choose what I like to call the "Anti-Football approach". Add to that, economically Ibra will defenitely sell more shirts than Eto'o. To me its a no-brainer to go ahead with this deal. Anybody who opposes this deal is probabbly among the same people who opposed Pep Gurdiola appointment as FCB manager last summer and now hail his victories!

praths4barca, thank you for making the first step back in case of constructive opinions.
good example, how cules should not do it.

wanted to hold it back, but it was too strong, sorry.

now i move backward again, for sure, to keep the harmony. but it must have been said

Guess it's full of secret Madrid fans here, attacking Eto'o, still jealous because they let him go and he gave us the best era in our history...

I think this blog is going to the dogs . Too much back stabbing, narrow mindedness and lack of respect for other posters !!

Talk football, guys. There are other places where you can get rid of your frustrations.

Btw pep I hope you do the same to leodragon as well, just look at his comments and personal attacks. And also you have deleted my good crticism as well.

pep, I'm glad you decided to get involved . Until recently I was impressed with this blog and checked on several times a day . However, as you can see, some posters are getting too "personal "with other posters just because the y happen to disagree with them . It is sad in a way . Let's hope people would stop fighting and try to be more OBJECTIVE and RESPECTFUL !!

Hope we can celebrate as much without Eto'o as we celebrated with Eto'o...

wow my comment got deleted, what ever happened to freedom of speech. i guess we know which side the blog leaders have then, eto lovers. no need to get so touchy with everything, that would just drive people away instead. i'm done commenting on eto topics.

lol @ Marc4, I dont think pep is one of us (eto fans) he is just trying to keep it cool here.

This whole deal is making people stressed and angry somehow, like it's only about Eto'o or Ibra...we are supporting FC Barcelona,if we have reason to bash something, let's bash Madrid together as FC Barcelona fans
