Hleb wants to stay at Barcelona

Asked about the rumours linking him with a loan move to Inter Milan (read more here), Barcelona attacker and Belarusian international Alexander Hleb (28) has said in an interview with German sports weekly Sport Bild that he wants to stay at Barcelona:

"I have a contract with Barcelona, so I'm preparing myself for next season together with the team. It's my goal to break through and to have success with this club."

The player's agent Uli Ferber added when talking to the magazine that he still didn't hear anything about a possible loan: "Nobody has yet spoken to Alex, to my colleague Niki Spilevski or to me about a possible move of Alex to Inter Milan. So we're at least a little surprised about the latest press reports, that we are not able to confirm."

Mino Raiola, the agent of Inter Milan player Ibrahimovic, meanwhile told journalists in Milan that Hleb is not part of the transfer operation that involves Ibrahimovic and Eto'o, but that the Belarusian player is involved in the transfer of Brazilian left back defender Maxwell from Inter to Barcelona.

"Its not official", but if this is true, then its funny some people can decide your future without you knowing about it

I hope this won't be another Gudjohnsen story. We tried to sell after the first year and he is still here.

What if he's in the axwell deal? Will we then have to pay more if Hleb doesn't go on loan? I thought that those 4,5 millions were a great deal for us, hope it stays that way.

I think it's best if he goes! Besides, it's only a 1 year loan! He's making out as if it's forever lol. If he goes, maybe he can crawl out of his ditch and when he comes back maybe he'll be as good as he was with Arsenal!

Isn't this a little confusing? If he was part of the Maxwell deal which has already gone through then why is he still with barca and how has he got anything to do with the Ibra deal?? If anyone can clear that up it'd be much appreciated! Thanks

forca barca

Moratti has confirmed (yesterday?) that Hleb wàs in the Zlatan-Eto'o deal... You can't believe the Maxwell thing, how would that be? A player who's not aware of anything is suddenly part of a deal that has already been closed and officially announced more than a week ago.

As of now, I just couldn't care less how much was spend or who was included, as long as we get them. Considering early in the transfer season the board says we only have 30-35mil and we still got Ibra (who Inter says back then cost 70mil) and Barca still entertains them.

They know the club financial ability and whether we can afford any deal or not.

Anyone knows of a loan of an established player like Hleb to a fellow top club? Can't really think of a similar case.

Regarding Barcelona, I remember Coco and Davids joining us on loan. Albertini too. Van Bronckhorst also was first on loan, I think.

fcbee said...

Now that I think of it, not sure that Albertini was on loan.

No Albertini was a free agent. Van Bronckhorst was indeed a loan, later we bought him. Coco & Davids was also a loan. Davids wouldnt like to stay....i remember that argentine left back that also was a loan, we loaned him from cruzeiro, also played at Lazio.....forgot his name

he's not even a good sub i'd rather see Pedro playing than Hleb he's rubbish, he doesnt have the quality to be like Henry in his second season.

He is crap, just offload him to Inter and that's fine

Does anyone know about Dembele? He plays for Dutch side, AZ in the role of striker, winger or attacking Midfielder. A complete attack-minded player. Barca, please get him as a backup for Messi or Ibra...

When factoring in how crappy Hleb has performed so far and the fact that NO club wanted to sign Eto'o(other than Manchester City) the Ibrahimovic deal may NOT be too expensive after all . We are basically getting rid of two players who have little cash value and getting a better player . Ok, Etoó lovers:1-2-3 : go !!

For goodness sake man go and take Guddy with you. Neither of you have what it takes to wear the Barca shirt your staying to get the medals that the other players win

coming to think of it , two out of three pep's signings caceras, hleb and keita turned out to be bad decisions. i hope ibra episode doesnt turn out that way.

i think he should stay.he MAY be a good property next season,he is skillful and somehow talented.i think may be he should be giving a bit of first team appearance next season sso that he would gain back his rythm

@anon
How do you think that Keita was a bad decision? He played when needed and made important goals. Not every player can be Xavi or Messi
