Ibra will wear the #9, sweet.

Madridistas's are dying with envy now!

Why would Madrid be envious because of Ibra? They got their Kaka, Ronaldo, Benzema fix that should last them awhile. They should be envious of the harmony within the squad and the beautiful football we play.

to tell you the truth this is more like a dream coming true, I won't believe it, that Ibracadabra is a Barca player, until I see him playing on the field. this would really make us a dream team, formidable attack. we will electrify Madrid whether they are envious or not. by the way they tried to sign him early in the summer but his evaluation was more than what could pay with chrisitna Ronaldo(go watch his pictures at Madrid's offside blog, even them admit he is too much sissy to look at) and the choir boy Kaka.

There's only one choir boy - San Andres Iniesta :P

then Kaka is a choir girl.

The top EPL clubs will have to think fast of a new "spineless" strategy . Parking the bus against Barça will probably NOT work anymore . If we have Alves and Maxwell supplying Ibrahimovic with crosses , the EPL defenders will be very helpless . Mancester United , Chelsea and Liverpool should be afraid . Very afraid !!

not meaning to be a party crasher but has ibra ever scored against an EPL team? i only remember the united vs inter match where ibra was annoymous. anyway after last years CL final they'll be worrying about the aerial threat of messi!!

I think Vidic and Ferdinand prefer to play against Ibra than against Eto'o actually. He's more easily to control for them.

Ronaldo has never scored against a top spanish team either so whats the worry

@yuti: "I think Vidic and Ferdinand prefer to play against Ibra than against Eto'o actually. He's more easily to control for them." Why is that ? Ibrahimovic is bigger and stronger than Eto'o . He is a better header and and dribbler and his technique is superiour to that of Eto'o . Btw., more than 70% of Eto'o goals were simple Tap-Ins !!

we need to use the bus breaking thing cleverly or we are going to be predictable and dull - ball to alves/left, ball to box, ibra try and head, not exactly our style of football. just because they dont want to play good football doesn't mean we should sacrifice ours. i'm sure pep and co will work on ways to use ibra as a decoy, like etoo in classico, hope he is prepared for that. either way just wish it wsa sorted so we can concentrate on CM/LW

a lot of people dont realise that the ibrahimovic of inter will be entirely different to the new ibra of barca let me tell you guys why i think this:

at inter they have a good midfield of good players with decent creativity and hard work ethic and they play a 442 which means ibra is limited to his movemement and ability on the ball als mou is an ardent taskmaster of reatricting a players creativity in order to sacrifice for the team, i recall a game a few season back when mou was chelski manager he lambasted joe cole for using tricks and skills and wowing the crowds even tho chelski were 4-0 up with sum 20 minutes left, i was amazed cos as a west ham fan i was used to seeing young joe using his dazzling skills and creativity and wowing the faithful down upton park!,

now i imaging mou did the same with ibra dont do this dont do that etc, it was no secret that ibra didnt like mou's negative defensive approach even in a league renowned for defensive tactics and although his relationship with him was cordial deep down ibra enjoyed his time as player under the likes of mancini who allowed a far more attacking creative approach and encouraged ibra to use his skills and creative abiliy to score goals and win matches, anyway to my point (yes there is one lol)

simply put barcas midfield is by far the most creative and strongest in the world and the supply of chances ibra will get will mean he will be far more clinical and more an allround player under pep than under mou at inter, and if anyone doubts that ibra will not work hard as eto'o think again cos pep will drum it into ibra until hes sick with envy that he must close down and pressure opposition defenders if anyone doubts this just look at the transformation of players such as titi and messi who werent great at closing down under rijkaard but actually enjoy it under pep cos they realise it really does bear fruit and for an even more good eaxample the likes of xavi an iniesta have followed suit at doin the same whilst under rijkaard were told not to!!, also the combination play between ibra henry and messi would be fantastic im willing to bet big that ibra will set up both titi and messi countless times with flick ons knockdowns and through balls etc for them to score x-amount of goals, also lastly consider this if for one moment ibra had any doubts about having to work harder etc he would have just stayed happily at inter cashin his €12m euro per season wages and bein comfortably the best player in italy, but no ibra realises and indeed has seen just how special someone like pep is and also how someone like pep can make him a far better all round player and who will have confidence in him sing his skills and creativity for me this is teh perfect replacement for eto'o.

peace out!!

I don't think ibra would be willing to play a winger and in that case we would definitely miss the style of play where forwards interchange and escape the markers.
If that is the case, then selling eto'o would be a disaster.

For big guys like Vidic and Rio it's more worrying to play against a player like Eto'o who moves the whole time than a more static player like Zlatan, Anony.

But in the Liga, the defenders are worse with the head, so that shouldn't be a problem there.

Anonymous said...

La liga's defenders are nt a big problem for our team. Main "bus parkers" are from epl and against them a more agile eto'o would have an edge over a tall ibra...

Replacing Eto'o with Ibrahimovic is a win-win situation . Now opponents can no longer concentrate on Messi and try to take him out of the game . Ibrahimovic will present another serious threat so opponents' defenses will find it difficult to have 2-3 players converge on Messi everytime he touched the ball . Messi will punish them with his passing . Remember Chelsea's game in the CL semifinal? Messi set up Iniesta with a great pass that sent Barça to the final . I can visualize a lot of Messi to Ibrahimovic and Ibrahimovic to Messi one-twos !!

@anon under blaugrana_uk - ibra will be willing to play on the left as he does it on inter every match. what he does is like what henry used to do at arsenal he drifts back to the half way line and when the ball comes to him he runs to the left and either cut in and shoot or cross the ball, he used to do it at ajax too interchange with the left and right wing)who played the 4-3-3 formation.

@yuti- that is a 50-50 situation, with eto constant movements it is hard to man mark him and slow people like vidic and ferdinand will have world of trouble closing him down but what will eto do when Manchester decide to zone mark like Chelsea instead of man mark cause zone marking is watching the zone and keeping your position not marking one person and when english zone mark it's usually defenders and midfielders in defense, in that situation zlatan has the advantage as his strength, long shots and ariel ability would help and there is always a chance chelsea or manu will make the mistake of dropping to deep to allow a shot from just outside the penalty area like iniesta's goal.
