New Ibrahimovic offer: 75 million plus Hleb on loan

Italian sports paper la Gazzetta dello Sport claims that Barcelona has made a new bid of 75 million euro plus the loan of Aleksander Hleb after the club rejected to pay an exit bonus to Barcelona forward and Cameroonian international Samuel Eto'o (28).

Italian sports site Sportmediaset claims that Barcelona has rejected the exit bonus request and that Josep Maria Mesalles, the player's agent, would now be flying back to Milan for a new meeting with Inter Milan officials. The Italian champions would now have to raise the salary offer and come closer to the 12 million euro asked previously.

Another problem would meanwhile be that Inter Milan manager José Mourinho isn't interested in Barcelona attacker and Belarusian international Aleksander Hleb (28), who was offered by Barcelona to join Inter on a free loan. The Portuguese coach would prefer to sign Benfica winger Angel Di Maria to strenghten his squad.

Forward line: Messi-Eto'o-Ibra. Sell Henry to Arsenal, they need a forward after Adebayor's gone.

for me, let eto go, find another fwrd centre. i sure there are players a lot cheaper than ibra who better, same as him.

barca4life said...

Uhm so we refuse to pay etoo 3-6 million cash (or even if it is 10-15 as has been suggested) and instead offer inter 25-30 million more in cash (depending on who you believe)?

Something is not right with this story.

guardiola said...

bnah i wont keep eto'o in my starting line up anymore.enrique wants him for barca athletidc.he will play for our b-team.ruben rochina will be promoted

barca4life said...

Perhaps if the club figured 50 million for zlatan and another 15 for etoo = 65 they rather give inter 75 and etoo nothing. If that is the case something is very very very wrong with the way we are conducting this deal.

LeónDragón said...

do anyone believe this? me not.

believe that on this, could be more truth...

-President Massimo Moratti met with the player’s agent, Josep Maria Mesalles, at the club’s new headquarters in Corso Vittorio Emanuele, and it is suggested that Eto’o himself helped break the deadlock.

La Gazzetta dello Sport reports that Eto’o talked with Inter technical director Marco Branca on the phone in the afternoon, saying he was enthusiastic about joining the Biscione. Indeed, Eto'o also reportedly stated that he is ready to bring the Champions League trophy back to the San Siro.

As a matter of fact, the striker has supposedly agreed to tie his bonuses to Inter’s achievements, rather than personal ones.-

Aahh Let Eto'o play in Barca B and let Bojan play all games, he did pretty well 07/08 when Eto was injured

bob said...

eto'o is crazy to demand even 5 mil euro exit bonus.ronaldinho's exit bonuswas 15% of the transfer fee which was 3 mil euro.is eto'o crazy or he has gone mental

Anonymous said...

This is BS story. Barca can't affort having both eto and zlatan. Guardiola already said it.

fcbee said...

If true, it shows Eto'o was valued by both clubs at 25 millions (or 30 millions, because in Spain the reports were of 45 millions).

So now Barça would say: ok, no Eto'o, so we'll add his valuation in cash.

Unknown said...

I am confused now. Just a few hours ago, I read the exit fee was to be around 3-4mil. Not wanting to give Eto'o that, Barca would pay Inter 75mil, up 25mil from the earlier already outrageous 50mil. You're right B$L. Something's fishy here. I'll just wait for another 2 hours and see if by then maybe Messi will be included in the deal.

LeónDragón said...

don't spend so much energy, bout news, that could be wrong.
this whole thing said on the news, seems to make no sense.

barca4life said...

This deal only makes sense if we found a team that will pay 30 million for etoo. If not it makes no sense at all.

barca4life said...

OH i think i understand now. Etoo is no longer a part of the deal. its like with the atletico forlan thing. barca pay inter 75 for zlatan and inter pay barca 25-30 for etoo. Wink Wink. Etoo's ego is not hurt that he was part of a swap deal and everybody is happy. Thats what laporta meant when he said that the zlatan deal does not necessarily depend on etoo. it all makes sense now.

I always defended sammy, but if this is true..

But as someone said before, why would we want to pay 20/25 more instead of 3 million to eto'o..
I don't hink the board hates him this much :-)..

On the other hand, i think the board is gettin a bit desperate, first game in two days, if they want the new striker to fit in..

Or maybe, some crazy prez is giving 30 mill for eto'o, Berlusconi doesn't want inter to be too good, can't get fabiano and wants to safe his face after the KAKA-deal

bob said...

yeah hurt barca and stay on bench.we need some bench warmer and ball boy to clean messi's shoe

Unknown said...

I hope you're right on that one B4L. Though it make sense and the sums (incl. the 3-4mil exit fee) do add up, I do hope Inter does not back out of that deal.

i think eto'o's agent is doing this according to the suggestion of ac milan's advisor.i forgot this fucker's name ohh Ernesto Bronzetti.Ac milan want's to damage inter.it's nothing but conspiracy

Why pay $75 mil for Ibra when Valencia talked about $50 for Villa who is a much better fit to the system. Just send Eto'o to the bench, buy Villa for 55 and call it a done deal. Maybe try to get 15-20 for Eto'o and snatch up a winger or hold on to it for January if any serious needs arise by then.

I'm seeing on la gazzetta that etoo is unhappy with guardiola's comments at the press conference and hat could be an issue, however they are italian so we arent sure if they do know what they are talking about with regards to guardiola and etoo.

It does seem silly to pay 75 for zlatan when we refused 50 for villa.

Unknown said...

LMAO Leon. that's the best that i've read "monkey to donkey"

I dont understand. If etoo is unhappy is he that mentally unbalanced that he will choose to waste a year of his life so he can get a few more dollars? The coach does not want you, leave. The more he reacts this way the more he damages his value, which club in their right mind will give him a contract after they see this?

Reading the goal.com article, I'm more incline to believe this is a misquoted report (mistranslation) or just some reporter liberally totalling the price that he thinks Barca need to pay for Ibra while seeing Eto'o as of no value (a surplus to requirement/reject), when I'm more of the idea that Inter pay us 25-30mil to even out the deal.

He is probably somebody from one of the rival blogs just trying to make a nusiance of himself in the hope that people stop coming here. remember we had somebody a few weeks back when pep had to moderate all comments. The person had the same sort of racial undertones about african people. Its quite sad acutally that somebody has such a low sense of self worth that they have to come on the internet and post obscene things to feel good about themselves. It shows the kind of home they were raised in. No sort of class at all.

Anurag said...

This is getting disgusting, seriously. And I do NOT mean the Eto'o case. I mean what is happening to this blog. A few months ago, there were sensible discussions after every post. It saddens me to see the sort of comments that are now being posted. NOTHING can justify this sort of talk, I'm sorry. Pep, please enable comment moderation again. Sorry I have to make this comment, but I think this blog is turning into some sort of flaming battleground.

i don't like how this whole transfer saga is daring.Pep has made a decision and i believe irrespective of how eto'o views this situation,he is not right, after all many left and came before he had his time at this great club and he must understand that as a professional no matter how you serve in an institution,it is the board who do the evaluation,i hope all parties find an amicable situation, paying 70mil is not true and i hope all of you guys will remain calm,Laporta knows that after all the bashing of madrid,he is not silly.

barca4life said...

But for some of the sensible people that are on this blog, what next? If the board are indeed balking at paying the 6 million to etoo. And we do pay 75 million for zlatan, what is the next course of action? Etoo will demand the 6 million no matter who we try to sell him too so what next?

Unknown said...

If this blog deteriorates further with all these irrelevant personal comments, I'm sure this blog will lose its followings or at least no one would want to discuss anything via comments anymore.

I do hope our editors find a way to make everyone wishing to join in the discussion register an account tho as Pep said before as this is a Google service, they don't provide for that other than with a google account. If they remove the Anonymous comment, the OpenID comment will be gone too, thus preventing people without a google account from commenting.

So to the editors, that's a small price to pay and it's not like they cannot create a google account which is free.

barcalove, thats my blog, and i am NOT saying people leave pep's, ok?

barca4life, i think i agree with your earlier comment, where you said inter will buy etoo for 2-30 mill in a separate deal. i think thats what will happen.

barca4life said...

Do we keep etoo pay him his 8 million that we owe him anyway this year and just let him go for free? Would he be a distraction? Would he settle for being 2nd choice to zlatan. Even if we keep him, would he want to play for us? Or is he just trying to hurt us in this last year?

Anonymous said...

barca4life, there is a lot of time left for it. I have a feeling that this is just to show that they cant be held hostage by etoo negotiations. Let's await few more days.

Byronic said...

If we pay 75m for Zlatan, so much for all the quotes by Laporta directed towards Madrid on their spending this summer, all that is undone.

It's also in my oppinion a slap in the face for Villa, who we could have for 45-50m.

barca4life said...

Even if we pay 75 million for zlatan and inter pay 25 million for etoo and then agree to compensate him for his exit bonus, would that not just be like if we paid his exit bonus in the first place? LOL. I feel the media have gotten confused somewhere. I do think that perhaps 2 seperate deals would be the way to go though.

Kxevin said...

It wouldn't be the worst thing if we kept Hleb. He and Guardiola would have to have a serious sit-down, however, about his attitude and his effort for the colors.

As for Eto'o, it isn't surprising. As I've said, the relationship is such a mess (no fault assigned here) that nothing would surprise me. It's a mess.

I'm sort of surprised that we would rather pay 75m for Ibra straight up than to give Eto'o 6m to be gone. But perhaps a line in the sand has been drawn. We've transferred him, made sure that it was to a contender who is willing to pay him his salary demands and atop that he wants 6.5m from us?

You can sort of see Laporta/Txiki, et al saying enough is enough.

Let's wait to see what transpires.

But if we cant agree the exit bonus, how come the italian media knew about it first? Would that not be something that was discussed between etoo's agent and the board in barcelona? None of the catalan newspapers reported that, they are only reporting that the italian news media said that.

Also if the deal is on the edge why is mesalles heading back to milan to negotiate? Is etoo doing a deal for this year or for next year? Hmmmmmm. All things that make you wonder

LeónDragón said...
