Barcelona planning new move for Cesc

British tabloid The Daily Express claims that Barcelona will make a new move for Arsenal midfielder and Spanish international Cesc Fàbregas (22) (read more here).

Sources in Spain are reported to claim that Barcelona will offer Arsenal a transfer fee of 29 million euro° plus some Barcelona players, and play on the fact the Catalan midfielder has always idolised Barcelona manager Josep Guardiola, knowing their only chance of landing the midfielder is if he asks to return to Barcelona.

i think they should buy cesc.. so now we will have more option in the midfield. i would rather to use cesc for the direct replacement to xavi (maybe rotate with xavi)..his role in arsenal nearly like xavi at barca..even we have busi, keita, toure, and few youngster, but cesc would be special addition to the squad n to add more depth to the squad

Great news!

Cesc will fit perfect with the "new" Barca team.. Gives Pep at lot of options in midfield + can put Iniesta in attack..

29 million euro + Gudjohnson + loan of Henrique...

sorry but why keep henrique?fontas and muniesa are better prospects and if arsenal wants him permantly we should give him to cut some money of the cesc transfer

Indeed, it's better to take the money for Henrique if they don't believe in him.

I'm not sure Arsenal would want Guddy or Henrique...I think they would rather have cash than two more players that maybe won't fit in. About Henrique I think we should loan him to a primera team, like zaragoza. That way he would learn the Spanish way of football as well. Next year he will be ready to compete for a spot on the team.

We need to make the team bigger not smaller! We cant give arsenal gudi and henrique guys..

What about Filipe Luis??? Is he not in plans any more?
BTW Henrique would be great addition for Arsenal. He would accept in a heart beat. They are short of defenders like us.

I think a price for Fabregas will be abouth 40 million + some player, but it's a still good job for Baca because he's young and worldclasss, a player for future. If we can get him and Cirginsky for 60 millions, i think that's a good job, even if it is lot of money. Next year we only need to buy Aguero for abouth 50 millions, and sell Henry, Hleb, Caceres, and we will have a good young team for comming years.

Filipe transfer has been ruled out tho I just won't accept the report at face value as Barca's board has the tendency to flip-flop on transfers. Ibra's case is one.

As for wanting a bigger squad, it don't always mean a better squad. Pep will just have to find a different role for the players that he has if the need arises, at the same time gives youth players the chance to show their abilities when called upon to do so.

If Guardiola puts more trus in Muniesa, the squad doesn't shrink if Henrique leaves. Henrique wouldn't have played anyway. Would there have been a difference last year if we wouldn't have had Caceres? Or Gudjohnsen? Or Hleb? Not really, since youth players can perfectly replace them and do at least as good as them.

guddy contributed well when he played, the only logical reason for him to leave is if it is for someone like cesc ie direct replacement/improvement. arsenal are desperate for CBs so henrique could be good option although he does deserve more than a couple of friendly games to prove his worth, also we then have to rely on montoya as alves back-up which could be risky.

saying all that i really really can't see arsenal letting cesc go, even if he wants to leave. they have just sold toure and ade, the equivalent of us selling etoo/ibra and puyol, they are not gonna let there captain and best player go unless we offer them ALOT of money, which after horrendously expensive ibra deal i can't see that we can afford.

Guddy contributed well but he costs us too much (Jonathan or Thiago would probably contribute as much for one fourth of his salary) and now we still can get a fee for him or include him in another deal.

To galla: just go to www.google.com and look for "football shirts", you'll have enough links thre I guess.

guys you are dreaming!! Arsene is very tough in business first of all he will never accept selling his best player one week before the start of the season ,he will only do it if CESC starts the cinema Xavi alonso did to liverpool (unhappy face, not talk to anyone, transfer request...) and the price would be veeeeery expensive. i can imagine that arsene will ask for 50 millions plus one or two players from our young teams as he loves yougters from barcelona.. for all these reasons i see more a transfer after the world cup

I doubt that Gunners will accept this "low" deal for Cesc.. But who knows.. It would be awesome to have him at Barca.

As it looks like now, Arsenal again won't be able to compete for the trophies, so how much longer will they be able to keep Cesc with them and preventing him from winning something?

LeónDragón said...

think, we should seriously try to buy him, by paying his prize or stop wasting time to try it on the low and concentrate on players, who are more realistic to buy for money we want to spend, before getting refusals all the time like in filipes or mascheranos case.
want honey, need money...
txiki should be more involved in serious transfer-stories than in cartoons

LeónDragón said...

sometimes have doubts over txiki, as every worthy transfer made, was always with help by laporta and not on his own.
but nevertheless, it shows also a united, goodworking-together board, what is not bad, but things would be easier to have the messi-of-the sportdirectors, affirmitive and tricky

And as for Cesc, anything over £30M, lets forget it

If we can't buy Fabregas, we should try to buy Essien from Chelsea. Maybe it's possible for 40 millions + Eidur . He would be fantastic player for Barca, he can play as a central or defensive middlefielder, and as a fullback. I know he's expensive but it's powerfull player.

This bosnian guy is crazy. Dude, quit jerking off to football manager before you get on this blog. Aguero? Essien? Superman?

bosnian_likes_barca said...

Hahaha, yes, we are Barcelona, and we can buy one expensive player, just look Barca's history. When Guardiola want have Ibrahimovic, and Ibra want to play for Barca money is not a problem. The same thing is abouth Cesc, Aguero, Essien or anybody else. We can have one of them, if they want and if Guardiola think that, 40 millions are not a problem.
This is Barca blog, not of Getafe or Salamanca. I know what is reality, but you don't know.

bosnian_likes_barca said...

And there is no need to buy superman, we created some of them, their names are Messi, Iniesta, Puyol, Xavi.

barca4life said...

We dont want essien because he will leave for the african nations cup along with keita and yaya and we'll be worse off than when we started looking for another midfielder.
