Guardiola ends Cesc speculation

Asked about reports linking Arsenal midfielder and Spain international Cesc Fabregas (22) to Barcelona, manager Pep Guardiola has said at a press conference that a transfer this summer will not happen:

"Cesc Fabregas will not come to Barcelona because Wenger has already sold Kolo Touré and Adebayor, two very important players.

We have to stay focused and in my opinion, it won't be possible to sign Cesc this year. He's a great player, he comes from the youth academy and gained experience in London but it's a fact that he will play one more year in England."

Don't think so, but the good thing is that now we can focus on buying another midfielder before every option is gone... Is there even any option left?

I hope Pep won't be adamant on this transfer as well & decide not to sign any body else since the board couldn't provide him the best or you can say what he wanted. Looks like he's not gonna sign any other CB since we couldn't get Chyhrynskiy and is instead concentrating on getting a RB back-up :( Hope that's not true as well...

next year he'll be a hotter commodity than he is right now, especially with the elections. the question is does guardiola want to buy a creative midfielder in xavi's mold & forget about cesc, or does he want to buy a defensive mid or a winger & hunker down until next year to start negotiations all over again (hopefully a little earlier in the transfer window next time)? i think barca's next move in the transfer market will show us whether cesc is indeed a long term transfer target or not.

We should sign Mancini from Inter since he is availablable for loan. No experiments sending Iniesta to play on the wing are required. He is a fantastic winger and no transfer funds are required.....As regards to Fab it is a good thing he is not coming this year lets just wait for a year for his price to drop

Guys come to reality... We do NOT need Fabregas. We have Iniesta to step up to the '4' or the latest '6' role after Xavi. All we need to do right now is buy a decent back up for CB, CDM(so that Busquee could concentrate more at CM) & LW. I hope Laporta does buy a super star for his SO-CALLED political reasons not at CM but at LW who could play in Iniesta's position as well, you know some one like Ribery, not exactly Ribery though because that's more impossible than getting Fab, say some one like Arda, who even if not a star now could earn his popularity among cules by the time of next elections.
I hope we win 3 or more trophies this season(3 being super-copas & world cup) and one of the 6 new signings Ibra, Maxwell, Kerri & the 3 others gaining a huge popularity. Also one of the current Canteras growing into THE most promising prodigy. That way Laporta's candidate would be winning the elections, the Laporta's achievements won't be gone wasted and we won't have to accept the rat back :)

PS : Fab's game was NOT so great today except for may be his pass to Denilson to set up the first goal.

laporta and txixi never believed in it, their goal was to make a contact with him have a deal promise from him so next year as laporta has presidential elections again, his main argument during the futur elections campaign would be : vote for im going to bring fabregas back.if they really wanted him for this season they would have gone for him since june..all this is well calculated, and plus all this we dont have 40 millions to recruit anyone right now after the IBRA DEAL

Laporta cannot run for another election
