Contract renewal for Iniesta coming up

Catalan sports paper Sport claims that Barcelona attacking midfielder and Spanish international Andres Iniesta (25) will sign a contract renewal soon.

The player's agent would already have held the first talks with the club and there would be a prinicipal agreement on the main issues, but the deal will only be finalized when the summer transfer window ends.

The duration of Iniesta's current contract, until 2014, would not change but the Spanish midfielder would get a pay rise. Iniesta signed his last contract renewal in January 2008.

I don't think it's his official twitter, just some smart guy putting up "offial" accounts of Henry, Cristiano, Zlatan, etc. Didn't ever read something on there that I didn't already know through the media, so the guy is just reading the press and then putting something similar up.

Deserves every penny that he gets.C'mon guys, lets sing for our unsung hero. That's the least we can do for arguably the best barca player for the past season.

i don't want to be seen as one of the board-bashers as i think this board has done an amazing job but why aren't they extending the length of any of these contracts? surely we give you pay rise, you commit for longer? not saying he doesn't deserve it as e was our 2nd best player last season (possibly would have been first if he didnt have that injury)

Iniesta could end up as a runner up or second runner up(next to Xavi) to Messi in the Bal D'Or or the FIFA player of the year award or both . Every time Iniesta was absent Barça and Spain struggled !!
