West Ham coach trying to convince Gudjohnsen

Asked about the rumours linking Barcelona attacker and Iceland international Eidur Gudjohnsen (30) with a move to West Ham United (read more here), West Ham manager Gianfranco Zola is quoted by British tabloid The Daily Mirror as saying that he is trying to persuade the player to join his team:

"He's playing for Barcelona. He's playing in the Champions League and although he is not playing regularly he is there.

The alternative is to come and play for West Ham, which is obviously a smaller club. I can understand his concern. He is human. We are a good club with a good future but this is me saying that. Maybe he doesn't see that. But we will see what happens in the next few weeks."

As far as I remember he DID mind being on the bench.

IMO he should go- doesn't bring anything when he's on the fields- something taht a youth player can also do...

i think he can contribute well, like he has done since he came, but i think it would be better for him to go to west ham, he'd be one of the stars of an up and coming team instead of a bit part player.

we should not sell him before finding an addition to the midfield.

keep him, we need someone who knows how Barca plays.
Sure, he isn't anywhere near as good as Xavi or Iniesta but he sure is better that Keita.
He's had 5-6 goals last seasson, pretty much the same as Keita, he has some assist as well, more than Keita and most importantly he doesn't always get a free kick against him when trying to win the ball back, unlick Keita... I'm not a fan of Gudjohnsen, but I prefer him to Keita. I don't understand what people see in Keita...

He is useless . I hope he leaves !!

not on the same level as keita in my opinion, although both are different types of players neither of them have much skill but at least keita has a fantastic work rate. everything gudjohnson has keita has and slightly better and he is younger. and if my memory serves me right he doesnt like accepting a bench role, which is where he'l spend most of his time if he stays.
