Catalan sports paper El Mundo Deportivo claims that Barcelona has yesterday made two new bids for Shakhtar Donetsk defender and Ukrainian international Dmytro Chygrynskiy (22).
Barcelona would first have offered Shakhtar a fixed transfer fee of 17 million euro plus around 8 million euro in variables°. Barcelona later also proposed to sign Chygrynskiy on loan for one season with an option to buy the defender next year. With the Ukrainian club rejecting all offers, Barcelona would have started to accept that Chygrynskiy won't join this summer.

25 million euro =
35 million us dollar
21 million british pound
8 million euro in variables, OMG this is unblievable
We're spending more in centre-backs than in midfielders over the last year: Thuram, Milito, Henrique, Caceres. And still we're not finding the right guys.
the infatuation with this scrub is unbelievable...
WTF
lol i agree
Great news I don't want him cause we don't need him.
What is Guardiola thing with this guy?! Get over him already and start looking elsewhere.
Can't belive it's true that we're putting focus on two untransferable players like Chyrgrynskiy and Cesc.
I truly belive that Txiki is working quietly for another midfielder and another CB.
What they offered for him is unbelievable. What is more unbeliavable is the fact that they refused.
I'm actually happy with taht- don't think he's that good.
Our chances of signing a player from a Russian club are similar to those of signing a player from Valencia : slim to none . If this guy is so good and highly rated why are there NO other clubs trying to sign him ? We need to forget him and move on !!
yeah ofcourse. it's to much!maybe we could get felipe luis for free and move abidal up to the midfield. when our africans go to the world cup we can use maxwell on keita's position to..But i have somendoubts on abidal in the centre!
Go get Agger instead, he is much better
stop wasting money please.
from the games i've seen he is a solid player but for CB to cost more than 25mil shows how crazy this market has been. i prefer the verthogon (?) guy from ajax seems to have better technique. as has been said i think these may well just be paper stories as txiki said the next transfer would be 'maxwell style', swift and quiet. i've not seen affelay play too much but he seems like a good possibility as he can cover AM and LW and would cost alot less than cesc. as for DF we have fontas and munseia, they not first choice starters but we dont need that. pure madness not to get filipe.
f*** this guy we don't need him
we should focus on signing a midfielder
as the coin has two sides, why cant we look at the other side of the coin. if guar diola is so much interested in this guy, there is a bigger chance we might find a great CB, in such a player who doesn't interests too many clubs around europe. Although the fact that there aint too many interested parties for this player doesn't tell us how talented he is but neither does some youtube video which make him look the best option for us. Althoug fontas and muniesa are really gr8 prospects, and poyol isnt getting any younger too, it does calls for a good CB to be signed this summer.
i say, his physical attributs makes him a good CB for us. just imagine how well toure did last season, which shows having two physically strong CB (pique + toure) did us what we were looking for. he is tall and strong, along with pique he could be a great hit. considering the fact that we have had some serious issue with teams posing arial threat, we should have a CB like him. This will allow toure to stick to his natural position.
if guardiola is too sure that he could be a gr8 prospect, i dont mind paying any amount for him. After 45m febregas, as demanded by aresenal, still remains a unlikely signing.
