First offer for Deportivo left back Filipe

Catalan sports paper El Mundo Deportivo claims that Barcelona has made a first offer for Deportivo La Coruña left back defender Filipe Luís (23).

Barcelona would have offered a transfer fee of 5 million euro° plus a loan without buy option of two of the following three players: Barcelona wing attacker Pedro (21), Barcelona Atlètic wing attacker Jeffrén (21) and Barcelona Atlètic midfielder Abraham (23).

Deportivo signed Filipe, whose contract expires in 2013, last summer for 2,2 million euro and would now be asking a transfer fee of 15 million euro° (read more here) for the Brazilian defender who also has an Italian passport.

Asked about the rumours linking him with a move to Barcelona, Filipe said in an interview with Spanish newspaper Público that he's trying not to think about it: "The whole season, I've been talking with a psychologist about the possibility of joining another team and what I try to do is not thinking about it.

If clubs are interested, they first will have to talk with the president and later with me. I don't know if they've already talked with my agent. I already said that I don't even want to think about that. I have four years left on my contract and, as things stand now, I will fulfil that.

There are things to take into account when you join another team. Adapting to a new city, a different club, that's a big change in one's life… It can be complicated. It could be that the club needs money and that they decide to sell me. But they can sell a lot of players because we had a great season. If I will stay here for four more years, that's fine by me."

I prefer the porto kid cisshoko for that price!
If we don't get him nog we end up paying 25 m for him

No doubts felipe is a usable player but 15 seems too much

That's the market, that's not crazy...

Get it done already!

@ Dude:

Dani Alves cost Sevilla something like $600,000 and they ended up selling him for over $30million.

asking price isn't the same as market price. market price is what teams are willing to pay for him. i highly doubt any team is willing to pay 15 million for him right now. i'm sure we can lower the fee with some negotiations & loan offers.

i agree with jordy. keep abidal and buy Aly Cisshoko.
And slowly bring him into the starting eleven! he has immense potential, and is rather cheap.

Porto has said that Cissocko wont leave unless a 25m euro offer comes, Dan R...

5m is ok for me =D

let's see about that when cisshoko wants to leave. they want to extend his contract for a reason..15m for cisshoko is a fair price for everyone

he's good in defending. how he controls the ball was like he was born to be a barca player. im not sure about his crosses as from this clip

No way are we loaning out two players who are supposed to play in the first team this year. Pedro is already first team and jeffren will with 99% be promoted, and we nead many players because of the schedule.

If we can include Abraham only and pay less than 10M,that would be good. The guy sure is talented, only worry is that he ends up like Caceres did (but I have my hopes high for both)

his passing seems to be good. not sure about his technique and dribbling though. he is quite tall, he seems to be good defensively. not the fastest player in the world though. 10m is more than enough. Abraham is 23 years old, Xavi Torres soon 23, they are no kids.

Pedro is not good enough.

Well this is exelent!

We need to get this done as fast as possible otherwise other teams will come in and rise the price!

We don't want some bidding!

Let them get Abraham and Jeffren and maybe someone else, not Pedro, maybe Xavi torres on loan.
We just paying 5 m euro then plus the guys that we are sending on a loan are getting some regular playtimne wich is great for their development!

If Abraham and Xavi torres doesn't improve we can sell them for a higer price than now!

How can we knot, how can they shot them self in a Barça team wich have just superstars in their squad?

Do Xavi torres have any chace at al against Toure,Segi,Keita,XAVINIESTA?

I watched quite a few Deportivo games this year. He has great control on the ball, decent vision and crossing, but his main deficiency is his lack of explosive plays. You should not expect a pacey left defender who can overlap the winger on every play (which might not be all that bad considering Alves' style of play on the other side). In other words, he is reliable but he will not drop your jaws.

He is great for 5-8 million. But if we are to pay 15 for him, I would say, we might as well pay a little less than double that and get 10 times more value out of Zhirkov.

Groga... I understand but it just pisses me off!!! how teams always inflate their prices with us and when Barca is not interested anymore they sell to another team at a cheaper price.

@ Anon... Dani Alves is better than Filipe at the moment. Dani was with Sevilla since 2002 and within those 6 years he proved why he was worth €35 mill while Filipe is still developing...
