Brazilian newspaper Folha de S. Paulo claims that São Paulo president Juvenal Juvêncio has declared to people from his entourage that the club has received an interesting offer from Barcelona for São Paulo attacking midfielder and Brazilian international Hernanes (23).
The player's current contract with São Paulo expires in 2012 but it is expected he could move to Europe this summer. His coach Muricy Ramalho is quoted as saying: "Hernanes is our best player. He's young, versatile and very strong. It's clear to everybody that he will not stay with us and will leave to play in Europe one day."
Hernanes is owned by São Paulo, sports marketing agency Traffic and Hernanes' agent, who all hold one third of the rights on the player. São Paulo only wants to let the player go for for a transfer fee of little more than 10 million euro°, while the other owners think that price is too high.

Like most Brazilians, Hernanes is an absolute wizard on the ball. He is very creative and can make show-stopping movements.
With Hleb and Moutinho also on the agenda, I have to wonder if there will be room for a striker in Guardiola's system or if he is opting for the 4-6-0 formation made famous by Luciano Spalletti.

I have to say for that price this guy is maybe a better option than Moutinho...

Considering price/quality this might be our best buy.

Are Barcelona seriously considering this guy as an alternative to Moutinho? or as a player to add along with him? So it's either that he's a better (more talented) player than Moutinho or he's not as good but a better "value" signing? Which is it? Not knowing anything about this guy I guess I'd have to lean towars Moutinho (if choosing between the two).

I've seen him play at one occation (Brazil-Sweden) and he was really good. For 10 million he is a really good signing.

Believe me, at this price Hernanes is worth it! He'll be worth double after a season! Hernanes is not a flash player though. so, don't expect stuff like Ronaldinho Gaúcho produces (occasionally) haha.
Who no team is even mentioned about buying him this season?
They're busy with other names, once there's less news, he'll sure re-appear... ;)
