Nike pays Barcelona treble bonus of 10 million

Barcelona president Joan Laporta has said at a colloquium yesterday that sports supplier Nike will pay Barcelona 40 million euro this year.

Nike pays Barcelona a fixed annual fee of 30 million euro. Because of the bonuses for trophies won during a season, an extra fee of close to 10 million euro will be paid this year.

Excellent. Use this 10M to buy Filipe Luis. BTW, Nike endorses him as well and it wouldn't be that hard to get him.

Gah, 10 million plus a canterano, kind of expensive. I hope it's only a loan and not a permanent move for the canterano. French media are saying Lyon are moving for Aly Sissoko and he's rated at 12-14 million.

Definately good news both Filipe and Nike.

Will this 10mill be added to our transfer budget or used to pay bonusses?

Actually, Filipe coming in at 10 mill is not a bad thing, maybe a little bit expensive, but so demands the market. It still leaves options open to get Cole if we ship Abidal offcourse or it just settles our LB position.

Bruno Alves wouldn't be bad as well, just expensive, but again 22mill as rumoured is not exaggerated. Everybody would welcome him for 15 but thats not going to convince Porto and they wouldn't have any trouble finding a higher bid elsewhere. 20 mill reasonable for us, probably still to low for the Portuguese. 22million not really such a difference from 20 but it gives it a switch to the expensive side.

Do you guys really think Laporta didnt knew Barça was getting this bonus? All strategies wont change now, they already calculated this extra 10 million in their prognosis. So the strategy remains exactly the same.

Guessed so, but still wondered given that it was announced so late after the Treble was won.

Anyway, I fully support pep in the fact that we're getting a little bit to uptight about our actions in the market.

We've got a great core to build on and with a top player and some back-ups I believe we can keep RM at a similar distance.

James wat did i tel u? monet is rolling in left, right and cetre.. wats the point if we not spending it? did u ppl hear the new rumours? Robinho offered himself to barca, why not get him? i know he made some mistakes at city but think about it... Robinho plays magnificent football at the company of magnificent players...

Manzo - 10 million is a nice bonus but it doesn't justify us spending hundreds of millions like some are suggesting.

Robinho is fine if we don't get Ribery but he's probably the highest paid player in England right now so I don't know if we can afford his wages. He's also a malcontent so maybe in a year he'll feel 'disrespected' and we'll have to go through all the drama yet again.

Robinho is about the 14th most paid player man. who wud say no to a payrise? plus eto'o is prepared to leave 4 40mil, y not jus swap with city or buy him with the Eto'o money? plus think of the fan base, how its gonna grow and that would be a good response to MADRID!!

Some sites reported that he signed for £160,000 per week which would make him the highest paid player. Other sites say it's closer to £95,000 per week but that's after tax so pre-tax it could be as much as £145-160,000 per week.

that is besyds the point.. wat does hav to do with signing him?

James said...

Well he has a 4 year contract. So he's not going to just give up money to come here. If we want to sign him then we're going to have to at least match that salary. That salary is pretty similar to the one we're not willing to pay for Eto'o because it breaks out wage structure.

I'm not saying Robinho wouldn't be a good idea. I'm just saying it could be more complicated than just, ok let's go get Robinho.
