Robinho opens door for Barcelona move

Asked about rumours linking him with a move to Barcelona, Manchester City winger and Brazilian international Robinho (25) is unconfirmedly quoted as saying to journalists that he's open to an offer:

"Until now, this is just speculation, there's nothing concrete. I didn't receive any offer. I can only say that Barcelona is a great team and that every player would like to play there."

I would happily take him for the LF position. He dribbles, assists, free kicks, I love his style on the pitch, but off the pitch, hmmm..not too sure. But please tell him theres somethng called PAYCUT.

it's a nicy player but indeed off the pitch.. that isn't good for a lot of youngsters..And also the wage problem as indicated.
He scores more easily than ribery but I think the frenchman is a little bit better because of his winning mentality and work rate. also stronger.

hope its true
imao Robinho is a bit better tha ribery.

about the ibra case
i have chnaged my mind..i wanted ibra before but know i think getting ibra will be bad for bojan."huge skillfull guy from italy..i´ve no chance!"..if we get someone like pato, benzema, aguero it will be much more easier for bojan to improve rapidly because he will be competing with guys at his age.

He wish... You've chosen for the money, Robby, now you cannot go back!

he's looking for revenge. image robinho playing in the starting 11 against real. imagine his possible performance.

he is young, very fast, skillful and dangerous. and he can't be marked with only one defender. players like him must at least be doubled. so there will be more space for iniesta, xavi, messi, eto'o/ibr....

i like henry a lot but he is 31 years old. maybe he can play one more good season at this level but what then? then barca must buy another winger and because they will be under pressure maybe they have to pay more?

robinho is a very good player. he is very fast . but, no thanks. we dont need ex madrid players.

Quite a good player , if not for his attidude and stuff.

Wouldnt mind him joining though he'll have to change his attidude and realise that he aint gonna be the star of the team and Barca aint gonna pay what ManCity pay lol.

Of course i doubt ManCity will sell him since they are fility rich and he did reasonably well and they are trying to build a team there.

Good player (although not consistent enough) but bad attitude.

Yep I am a fan. He is a fantastic player and a great alternative for Ribery. Yes his attitude is shit but he knows he can't stuff up his next b/c his reputation will end up like Anelka.

I think we should go for him if we don't get Ribery.

...was no fan of him, because of his divers, even though he's surely talented, til' he left madrid with the words " i better go begging at a fair than staying in madrid"...think,that he could be our next signing,if it's possible to make it with the money...barca had always brazilians at their offensive...there was a year without just like this now, last time with riquelme, til' dinho came one year after...think he could be good...maybe better than the others...he's playing at a club without any logical system, lost under average...i'm sure he would even agree to a paycut to join barca...let's see...
but whatever happens...
barca should concentrate first on toures contract-extension before making any signings...he deserves to be treated right...think also, that it's not gentle to contact mascherano before this is done...to let toure go instead of whoever, could be a sign of bad behaviour or just dumbness, since he proved that his development is just at the beginning...
hope everything ends positive...
to relax because of our titles last year could be also negligent...
after you won some, you need to make changes to bring new hunger in the team...that's a must...
as we saw also in the past what could happen if not...
but have faith in this board and think all comes to a positive result at the end...
also hope that the names like toni, riise, etc were just backflashs of 1st april-jokes...

i bet we can lure him to barca by throwing henry in the deal or eto, henry is on the plans of pep for next year and that showed in what vilanova said.

i wish he and ibra will come ,i bet robinho now started to understand that those money doesnt make it for not winning any trophies and made a call for barca to go get him.i think we should give him a change ,he will be trophie hungry and is way better than any of other players mentioned including ribery (at least for me).things are interesting this summer,i cant wait start the transfers allready hehe

He's very good on the ball, but at Barça you have to be very good off it as well, constantly putting pressure on the opponents.

If the club would be thinking about Robinho, I hope Pep makes time for a long talk with Robinho to see whether he's really motivated and committed to putting his feet down and work like everyone else on the team.

We obviously can't deny his talents, and if he were as professional as most of the players we have in our team, he'd already be on top of the world by now.

Robinho is way better than Ribery, u shud check the footwork and we can get him for far less than 50mil.. and he makez gamez interesting.. thatz why i lyk watching brazil play

SJP said...

watching him play at city this season he has no where near the right attitude to play for barca, every single away game he was completely anonymous, never tried, to be honest he is now something of a laughing stock. would prefer aguero or ribery, more suited to our system, but i do love it when barca has brazilians upfront!

Wanted47 you are crazy. Buy Aguero/Benzema would be better for bojan?! Apperantly you don't get it. Buying an older player, like ibra, is GOOD for Bojan. That signals that Bojan right now won't be a starter, but that he will in the future. Buying a young striker signals that Bojan always will be benchwarmer. It signals that there are other better young players out there, and that he isn't that speciall.

About Robinho, no way we would ever buy him. Don't you guys remember he played in Real?! he went from Real too Man City. Seriously the guy is a wh*re.

Poor Robinho...You'll never play for Barça..I hope.

Marc4barca said...

how desperate could you be. robinho your in behind ribery and silva, your chances of joining are rather slim.

Marws & wanted47 - i think that bojan will be implemented as a henry type player in 3years cause he just isn't suited for the cf role so aguero, benzema or zlatan won't harm him but ribery, silva or whoever comes will and he'll just leave anyways. i feel sorry for him cause these are the times where it is rather tough to break in a barca squad.

Robinho was a beast, his footwork amazing and skills amazing. He can improve the left flank, Robinho was a promising star with Real Madrid. Schuster ruined Robinho.

I wouldnt like Robinho at Barcelona, he is too inmature, if he was humble like Messi then yes. But Robinho>Ribery. But Ribery is a better player in Barca's system.

I've waited for years (since that pedalada penalty at Santos) for this to come true. let's hope it happens. Sure he's ex madrid, but so was Lucho. If he comes I'm sure he'll take a paycut and acknowledge that he isn't THE star of the team.

Great talent, though I'm not a big fan of his off the pitch. IMO a better signing than Ibra and Ribery. He's good on the ball AND off it.
