Barcelona ready to make bid for Cole

British tabloid The Daily Mirror claims that Barcelona is ready to make a bid of 13,5 to 17 million euro° for Chelsea left back defender and English international Ashley Cole (28) (read more here).

Chelsea is not willing to give in to the wage demands of Cole, whose current contract expires in 2011 and who want to sign a renewal that would make him earn as much as the club's top earners.

New Chelsea manager Carlo Ancelotti is keen to keep Cole but has been told the club will not stretch their wage budget to accommodate him. Real Madrid and Manchester City would also be interested in the English left back.

No, he will only injure Messi on the training pitch :D

In my opinion he's a better left back than Abidal, people tend to focus on his ways outside of the pitch - which is a bit unfair.

But the reports I've been reading states that he's looking for wages around what Lampard and Terry are earning, who are among the top earners in Chelsea raking in about ~£150,000 per week and I can't see Barcelona matching his ambitions.

Maybe he 's just asking an insane salary so they let him go...

Don't know about him, but if there's money, we could do with a left back who can add some more in attack.

He wasnt the one that injured messi. it was del horno

We do have the advantage of lower taxes and a good exchange rate but we're not going anywhere near £150,000 per week. Although if he lowered his demands he'd be a great option, even Filipe will probably cost us 10 million euros, why not go for someone world class if we can afford the wages.

If we do end up buying Cashley, I don't think certain fans can accuse us of not paying black players what they're 'worth' lol, you better believe Cashley will get every cent he wanted.

I prefer Maxwell or Filipe from Deportivo

I dont like this situation...
Apart from this news,
Toure isnt gettin renewing for his contract, Eto'o's future isnt decided, Txiki wants Forlan(Eto'o is far more better player, Mascherano(Toure is far more better) and now Toni and Bruno Alves???
Real have just sign Kaka' and Villa and it is matter of time when they get Ronaldo or Ribery... (and everything that walk on two legs)
Im praying to hear Ribery joins barca... In Pep we trust!!

Cashly Cole would actually be a good player for us if he changed his attitude. I also think he is better than Abidal and could be a really good player for us. If he is rejecting a contract offer from Chelsea I can't see him accepting one from us. Chelsea pay some of the highest wages of any club in the world, I can't see him earning much more with us.

While this would upgrade the WAG box considerably, it will not happen. Barca is not going to spend that much on a left back with cheaper and better suited options available.

There are very few Englishmen that'd have any clue how to play in a Barcelona side. Xavi and Iniesta made Carrick look like a primary schooler.

Barca can sign Filipe for 1/5 of what it would take to sign Cole.

Depor want 15 million for Filipe so maybe not 1/5.

You never know though if that Abidal > Mascherano swap had any basis then this could sort of make sense, salaries not withstanding.

I actually like Cashley, maybe he just likes to come to Barca and is forcing his exit. Moreover, we will get some nice WAG-pictures over here.

But I guess the real truth is: he wants more money, wherever and from whoever.

Technically he would fit in, has good defence and good offence, only his heading might be inferior to Abidal. For 15mill I'd take a gamble in case we're not paying him crazy wages for years and years.

There's a rumor that Inter offered Chelsea both Maxwell & Burdisso for Carvalho, Chelsea is reported to have signed Glen Johnson. This might be why they want to dump Cole's large wage bill, or at least why Barcelona might be interested.

fot that money.....I say YEESSS

not this pr**k, please. barca players are humble decent human beigs that play for the club through loyalty, cole screwed arsenal, now screwing chelsea, we don't want mercenary players! he is a good player ut he is only the third best LB in the EPL behind clichy and evra, and chelsea would want a lot more than that for him, glen johnson RB and they don't have another LB so they need to keep him, and we don't want this tw*t.

What will happen with Abidal then?

Cole is a first choice starter.
A Starting eleven player..
What we need is a backup at that position and who can develop and maybe take Abidals place later..

Abidal is our best choice, Alves is attacking and then we have a 3 man line.
And Abidal can go offensive

Actually, i'd get Aurelio instead of Felipe, Maxwell, Cashley :-) he approved himself in game with Chelsea.

he is better than abidal...but i do not think chelsea will let him go...

I really hope not. That disloyal, greedy little bastard should stay where he is.

He has no place in a great club like Barcelona, no matter how good he is - he belongs in a club that tries to BUY greatness.
