Barça B: Xavi Torres will join Malaga

Malaga regional newspaper Diario Sur claims that Spanish first division club Málaga has reached an agreement with Barcelona Atlètic defensive midfielder and captain Xavi Torres (22).

Xavi Torres would join Málaga for free thanks to the good relations between the clubs and will soon sign a five-year contract with Málaga, including a buyout clause that goes up every year.

Madrid sports tabloid As claims that Málaga will announce the transfer later today. Xavi Torres is on holiday and will sign the contract though fax. His agent Raúl Verdú would have closed the deal yesterday evening. The midfielder could be presented by Málaga in the coming days.

Free? no clauses? 0 Euros?!
if his contract is not over, this is absurd.

Anonymous said...

We give our players away for free "thanks to the good relations between the clubs"? What is next? Selling bojan for 2m euros to santander "thanks to the good relations between the clubs"?

fcbee said...

I think his contract ended but Barça had the option to renew it one more year (not sure though).

And you always get something in return if this is true. Now we do them a little favour, in the future it's our turn and we might have first options on promising players of them, that's how things work.

James said...

Do you guys overreact about everything?

He's 22, likely only has 1 more year left on his contract. We got him for free not too long ago. He's permanently blocked by Busquets. I'm positive there are clauses in the deal where we would get a % of the next sales fee.

The club isn't stupid, this is likely the best situation for both him and the club. If he stays on the B-team and becomes a permanent B-team player that doesn't do us any good either.

Anonymous said...

Tell us when our "good relations" really mattered? Did our good relations with Villarreal mattered when we were blackmailed for 17m euros for Caceres by them?

All we seem to do is always sell our players dirt cheap or simply giving them away. When was the last time we got a good price for any player?

James said...

Hi,

The club isn't stupid. Keep Xavi Torres to block youth players coming up the ranks is dumb. You can't make a deal that isn't there. Getting a nominal fee from another club if the player doesn't want to go there isn't possible.

-Thanks

groga said...

Zambrotta was a great price, Giovanni (looking back) too, even Ronaldinho and Deco (looking back). Our last sales were all good prices!

The thing is: we're not a selling club. We're not selling our top guys, we're offloading people we don't really need anymore. So you hardly can expect high fees.

If we want to have a good price for a player, we can just call Florentino and say Messi is for sale. I'm sure he'll offer a package deal including Cristiano plus money. And then you'll be probably happy... Cause, yeeeeeeeeaaaaaaaaah, we finally got a good price for one of our players!!!

Unknown said...

We let those boys who are not in long term plans for free, whats wrong with that? We got them for free too. Also, this is a thanks to them too, helping them find a club where they can develop further and have a decent career. This guys have no market value, AND IT WOULD BE FRICKING HYPOCRITE FROM US if we would make their future a misery.

Whats wrong with you? So many negative and pessimistic people. Did we get relegated to segunda last season? I can't believe...

barca4life said...

Good luck xavi torres. You guys dont understand what it means to come from the barca youth academy. We are not just training these players to play for barca, we train them so they can have a career in football even if its not with us. Most likely he would have asked the club to join Malaga because he sees the opportunity at having a career elsewhere in Spain. At barca he has Xavi Iniesta Yaya Keita Sergi and Thiago ahead of him not to mention possibly another signing coming in soon.

We do not get good prices for our players because we are not a selling club. We buy good players and sell them most times when they are past their best. Who was the last great player we sold when he was in his prime? Figo? and how much did we get for him? A whole lot of money

TengkuAmir10 said...

i agree wif everyone.we never seem to sell our players 4 a price dat is overrated like inter,MU,chelsea,ARSENAL,ACMILAN etc.

but wat about us???

ronaldinho 4 20 million is so stupid dat i felt like killing laporta and deco for 10 or 15 million is also stupid.

kaka is like 40 million but got sold for 57million.ronaldo is actually 60 million but got sold for 80 million.we bought alves 4 30 million.MAN!.and basically all other clubs r giving us crazy prices for their overrated players.

I DEMAND BARCA GET A MECHANIC TO FIX LAPORTA N TXIKI'S GODDAMN HEAD!

TengkuAmir10 said...

@marko.MAN UTD bought cristiano 4 17 mil n sold him 4 80 mil.so i dont get wat ur saying.i can name even more clubs who bought it for
-------€ and sold it for ---------------€.

do u get it???

Unknown said...

When did you start supporting Barca Amir? In May 2009?

TengkuAmir10 said...

^^^^^^^^

im sorry my comment from above for "it" means a player.

James said...

We actually got 21 + 4 for Ronaldinho. Plus he waived his 15%? portion of the fee. That means we actually got ~25+4.5 million for Ronaldinho. Pretty good for a guy who was out of shape, lost his desire and only wanted to party. He had a huge wage bill to boot. I think he's proven Txiki & Laporta geniuses this year. Milan struggled to 3rd and we won the treble. You can't be more vindicated than that.

Unknown said...

This is Xavi Tores, a player for 3rd division who would never make it to 1st team. What is wrong with you? You have no clue how things work in real life...

TengkuAmir10 said...

i know but we cant sell him for free.we only have 30mil to buy players so wat r u talking about huh???

TengkuAmir10 said...

no idiot.its been for my whole life.its just dat i didnt register for this blog.ive been following dis blog for one year same as all of u..

Unknown said...

@Amir. I'm not talking about the blog, I'm talking about FCBarcelona. It's obvious you don't know what this club stands for and what it represents, the history and the Barca way. If you would understand just a tiny bit of it, you would never write such crap as you did up there. Have fun, over and out.

Manzo said...

I dont tink its a bad idea i mean playing 4 da b team at age 22 is just gross and its either u hav it or u dont and thats something we should figure out at age 17... and im sure the real reson hes leaving is coz Guardiola doesn need him.. I trust his judgement

Anonymous said...

Giovani was hardly a good price. We got 5m-6m euros for one of the most promising young players in the world. We couldn't sure that he would be a major flop, and he can still put his career on track. Deco for 10m euros was a good price?

Ronaldinho for 20m euros when 2 year earlier we could have gotten 100m from Chelsea? Even when Ronaldinho became worse during those two years, he was still a massive marketing name.

Other top clubs get good prices for their players, including Real Madrid. What did we get for van Bommel, who has been a very important player for Bayern, Giuly, Saviola, we never get reasonable prices. Reasonable price is not necessarily Messi for 150m euros, all i am asking for is that we don't simply give our players away or for dirt cheap even if we would want to sell.

TengkuAmir10 said...

@marko.ive been supporting barca my bwhole life as i said b4.u r just jealous becoz u r not a true cule n seriously dont have wat we call EYES to read my previous comment sucka!so u can shut ur damn computer n jump off a 20 floor building bcoz it seems to me dat u r so goddamn sTU dat u prefer barca go bankrupt than us getting richer.

p.s. although we r already rich

Manzo said...

ag Marko stop hating on Amir just coz hes keeping up with te timez... The history of the club? anything can be history, we basically made history less than a month ago we still have a long way to go so dont tel me about hhistory... As for cash, i think we hav mor den 30mil to spend if we made a bid 4 40mil whereas we still have some players on the way i mean, Laporta said 3 or 4 top players, how are you gonna do that with 30mil?

TengkuAmir10 said...

@manzo.im also sure dat barca has more than 30 mil but thats wat they sayy from a previous article.n i agree wif anony n manzo.

FINALLY!someone to agree wif.

ronaldinho is better than ronaldo and u say its a good price for 20 mil???even freaking kaka is 60 mil€

Anonymous said...

Manzo: how are we gonna do that? That's easy:
Toni - 10m
Bennayoun - 10m
Riise - 8m
Sartor - free

TengkuAmir10 said...

GIO was also so underrated .we couldve sold him for at least 20 mil€ like acmilan bought pato.who is i think d same level as gio.n he was bought for acmilan for i think 25mil€

MohamedH said...

@marko --- i think 17years is a little bit exaggerated. may i remind you that jaap stam started his professional carreer at the age of 21 - joined psv at the age of 24 --- man U at 27 etc...
another example is van Nistelrooij who played the first 4 years of his carreer in the dutch second division, before joinign heerenveen, psv, Man U and finale Real Madrid...

Anyway, regarding to Xavi Torres, i think he wont make the first team anyway and if we can benefit from our good relations with malaga in the future then its a good deal

barca4life said...

You are crazy if you think anybody was gonna pay 20 million for gio. Who would pay that? tottenham would have laughed us out of the talks. And look at how it ended up. Gio had to go on loan to ipswich and was seen having to be carried out of a club passed out drunk. Who would pay 20 mill for that. This isnt FIFA manager mode of Football Manager. This is real life. Look nobody wants deco anymore still. We begged ppl to bid for deco and the most anybody would pay was 10 million. And dont even start about ronaldinho

Manzo said...

Toni? Benayoun? Riise? Sartor?
Best club in Europe= Us
Now u wana ruin tha buy buying 3rd class players? Hav u lost ur mind? Hav u forgoten dat we hav T-shirts to sell as well? Now who wants to buy a T-shirt with a 30year olds name on da back? who wants to buy a T-shirt with someone who scores an own oal in the cl's name on da back? CERTAINLY NOT ME!! I mean to be honest whats a !st class team With 3rd grafe players?

James said...

If you guys are such transfer gurus clubs around the world would have hired you long ago. :)

Gio was in the last year of his contract and he wanted a huge raise or he wasn't going to sign. Keeping him would have cost us that money. We got 7 + 6 for him. Very few clubs can afford Deco's wages so 10 million is nothing to sneeze at.

Do you think if Chelsea offered 10 million for Deco and Milan offered 20 million Txiki would sit there and say "hmm, I don't think I want to take a higher, I'll just sell him to Chelsea". The market determines these players' values. They can only be sold for what they're worth. If they weren't sold for a higher fee it's because NOBODY BID a higher fee.

Anonymous said...

Tengku Amir for a lifelong supporter of the club the knowledge you continually demonstrate makes me think you were born in May 2009!

barca4life said...

Manzo we are not about selling shirts. If you want to follow a club that sells shirts go follow madrid or milan. And if pep thinks toni is the way to go (and personally i think he would be a good backup for etoo) i trust him. This board has bought us the treble and all everybody does is moan and whine about what they are doing wrong. Gai and Bojan are the future. WE DO NOT NEED ANY YOUNG SIGNINGS. We only need players like giuly a couple years ago who played for a couple of years and allowed messi to become the player he is today.

Manzo said...

Selling shirts? thts what every club does if not then y are barca shirts in store and on the net? Because its a source of income u idiot! Aint nothing wrong in trying to improve your source of income! Back-ups are suppose to be people who are there to prove a point for there little time they have on the pitch not some 30year old! We have seen Toni and dont tink we wanna see him again! we want players who can atleast make it into the nomination for the world player of the year! Now if you wanna be cheap with all your 3rd grade players, expect cheap and 3rd grade results coz thats what you most likely to get! TONI SHOULD GO TO MAN CITY! As for Peps judgemant, dont get me wrong, the guy is good but lets be realistic. it doesnt mean if hes good now, he will be good all the time, dont u think somewher down the line hes gonna screw up or someting?

TengkuAmir10 said...

@anony's. u r crazy guys dudes .who r u to decide when i was borned n dat gio is an underrated player who at least to say if not 20 mil than at least 12mil.we even bought caceres for more than 5 million euros n if i was born may 2009 i wouldnt have known about gio wouldnt i???geez i bet ur so stupi* no matter anywhere u go anony above n

@barca4life.asmuch as i agree wif u wif the TREBLE winning team,i have to disagree wif u about selling shirts.selling shirts is another major way to make us more money to have a big budget.so wif the money we could buy players like wat we have today n although we get alot for free(lamasia),lamasia cannot guarantee us a treble like wat we r today.i agree wif 7 of our players in clf were homemade but wat about henry, eto'o n toure yaya n etc. who has also contributed to the team??huh??we need to buy players n at the same time grow them.could any player in who is from lamasia beat except messi(genius) beat henry n eto'o at scoring when needed??i think not.n xavi n iniesta r world class so i dont 100% disagree wif u

Anonymous said...

gai is not ready i think, and I doubt he will ever be ready. I think we should put our trust in Thiago and Muniesa, as Gai doesn't seem all that to me.

Anonymous said...

Why is everyone trying to act like a transfer guru here? There's a reason why people like Pep and Txiki (well..) are the ones to decide and not us.

Just sit back, relax and watch the show.

TengkuAmir10 said...

@anony.i agree wif u its bcoz the youth players i trust are only 5.without gai in my list.

barca4life said...

Manzo so i guess according to you barca should never have gotten henrik larsson. And which player with something to prove is willing to sit on our bench? And our primary role is not to sell shirts. Messi Henry Xavi and Iniesta sell enough shirts. You sell shirts when you are a winner. We are winners right now. We dont need any more big names to "sell shirts" that is madrid talk

And Amir how do you know nobody in our acadamy can score like etoo? Before messi we could say nobody in our academy was ever the best player in the world. because it never happened before does not mean it cannot happen now.

TengkuAmir10 said...

bcoz if it does happen now.u guys shud be loving(really loving) a player rite now bcoz u guys do watch EVERY barca show,RYTE????????so if there is a so called"new messi" he would have got a lot of attention from media coz as i have remembered messi was really x999 good when he was very young n these guys just got promoted n is like 22,21,23,20?????messi n bojan got promoted when 17 bcoz dey were really x9999 good.unlike these guys now although some of them r good i dont think theyll make it like xavi n inista n messi n bojan.

Manzo said...

Selling shirts is not our Financial Fundamental but fact is it generates income! Imagine with Ibra, Robinho, Cesc or Ribery n Benzema... Dont you think that will top or maybe even match Madrids "galacticos"?

If Bojan didnt have something to prove he would be in the starting line up dont you tink? We know hes good but he has yet to reach his peak! Next year will be a tough year, we shouldve have someone to back up someone, we should have someone to back up SOMEPEOPLE!

Unknown said...

Hehe, but the season ended 2 weeks ago, and some are already panicking as if it's 30 August at 23:55.
We'll get our players, there is still time. I'm sure the board is working behind the scenes and that the rumors are just rumors.
We have the best team in the world, we don't need to break the bank this summer. We must buy smart and rational. If anyone is jealous of Madrid, thats their problem, but I think it will all backfire at them.

Anonymous said...

Yes, we need someone new in the front 3, even if no one leaves us. We have only Bojan as backup for the front 3. What do we do if Messi get a 2 month or 3 month injury? There is very little squad depth up front. I think Ribery would be good. Maybe we are too dependent on Xavi and Iniesta too...

barca4life said...

The key to life is variety manzo. We want players like toni and trezeguet because they would be relatively cheap, willing to take a bench role and have different attributes to our current players i.e. tall, strong, good in the air.
Bojan isnt starting because he is 18. Which 18 year old has a starting place as a striker on any major team in europe ahead of players like messi etoo and henry?

And Amir gai hasnt got through yet because of the eu passport problems he has had. you are only allowed 3 in the first team at any time. If it wasnt for that, gai would have played at the end of last season. he has trained with the first team on more than 1 occasion this season. So watch this space........... And we do have a great young striker called icardi who is tall and from the same place in argentina as messi (rosario) in our youth academy. Called up to the argentina u-17 team at age 15. He has scored 400 goals in 4 years so we are waiting with baited breath to see how he develops.

Manzo said...

Variety my Ass!!!!! What we need is physical characteristicss take Ibra 4 e.g... Luvly skill, great in the air, speed, technique and independency! Now Toni and Trezeguet know this stuff alright but thats the problem, we need MASTERS!! Someone whom it is a pleasure to watch!

Doesnt Mario Baloteli get a startin role? Isnt he 18?

Unknown said...

Gai will be promoted when he gets his Spanish passport. He is not with the first team because if he would play for the 1st team as a foreign, then he wouldn't be able to return to Barca B. So, once he gets the Sapnish passport, he'll be playing for the 'big boys' and Barca B... like Pedro this year.
I've seen Gai playing live in LaMasia, and I think he can be the 'next real thing' with Thiago. Gai has that flow, that 'sticking ball' like Messi has. I can't wait next season to see him play again with the seniors...

TengkuAmir10 said...

OH YEAH!!!!i remember now barca4life thnx n no hard feelings ryte??icardi was the guy that they say scoring ability is in his DNA.ok x999 i remember now but still dont agree wif u about gai.he will never be as good as messi or eto or henry

kamikaze kontiki said...

Manzo, we topped the Galacticos by playing a better brand of football and winning more trophies. With more than 3 Galacticos in the team RM managed only 1 trophy. We dont need to buy players to top them. If we did, we never would either because Real can always generate more money.

They cant beat us at football and we dont want to try matching them at generating shirt sales.

barca4life said...

Yeah Amir i dont take any discussion personally, and i enjoy a good debate. After all we are all barcelona fans and we all want what is best for the club.

Balotelli got to start sometimes towards the end of the season, but which other strikers did he have in front of him?

TengkuAmir10 said...

p.s. although he is really good.

@marko.dont even think u can dribble wif a 10 year old kid wif ur knowledge HA HA...ciao

Benzema isn't that good, Manzo. He is overrated.

Manzo said...

Barca4life you are expandind the arguement... Lykd that comment though

barca4life said...

Key word is team manzo, not a collection of stars. Too many stars and we would have problems. We've seen this movie before, look at inter in 99 madrid in 03-06. It doesnt work when too many people need the ball to be effective

kamikaze kontiki said...

I get what you are saying, generating money is important but we are doing that in the best way possible by developing players and a team and a philosophy of football and it is sufficiently successful. Our finances are healthier than RMs. Why should we try to imitate them when this works?

Of the youngsters we got glimpses of this season, he definitely stood out for me...And, of course, I didn't see anyway he was going to break into this starting XI in the near future.

wow...you'd think barca had flamed out of the CL, lost to madrid 2-6 in el clasico and had just overpaid for two stars in a controversial manner that don't even fit their main need.

oh, wait...that wasn't barca..which team was that...hmm...

transfer fees are a combination of quality of player and length of contract the player is under (and its size).

Xavi Torres was stuck behind a 26 year old Toure and a 23 year old Busquets. He had practically zero value to Barca in terms of helping the first team in the near or long term and Malaga will likely return the favor, either by agreeing to give X percent of any future transfer fee (which will only be higher once he gets to play with a first division squad) or by giving barca first rights at one of their players. What...the 2 or 3 mil euro are make or break for barca? The good will is worth more to a large squad like barca.

good will is why barca's got the first option on ribery even though he might prefer real madrid.

smart team management is why barca can win the treble and sell TONS of shirts even without having to spend like real.

but enjoy the crazy season!

hey, we won the liga, cup and champions league, so why still doubt the barca management? xavi torresis somewhat good, but we still have better players, and much younger than he is. plus, he has been with the b tem for a while now. barca is actually giving him a chance to actually play top flight football, just like what they did to crosas, gio, lago, etc. we still have thiago, which i think is a much better player than xavi torres.

goodluck to xavi torres, i hope he does well and use his barca skills to his best.
