Former youth player Merida unaware of future

Asked about his situation, Arsenal attacking midfielder and former Barcelona youth player Fran Mérida (19) has said in an interview with British sports site Sky Sports that it's unsure if he again will leave on loan and that he will soon be holding talks with his club:

"I don't know anything about my future right now. I am just training with the first team and I had the chance to play the Emirates Cup. In the next days we will see what is going on. It is fantastic, I have just got back to London last Friday and I did not expect it at all. It is good news and I really enjoyed it.

I think a success would be to push up in the first team, get some more chances and progress. That is all I can do and I will try my best. All the time I have been here I have really enjoyed it because of the kind of football we play and the dressing room, the people around, everyone is nice, so all the time I have been here I have enjoyed it."

This guy is even worse then Fabregas. He wanted to move to Real Madrid from Barcelona but they refused him for his bad school results and then he decided to join Arsenal.

He's already 19. If he stayed at Barcelona he would have been given a chance to break through by now.

His case was definitely worse. I hope the appeal fails and Arsenal will end up having to pay Barcelona the compensation. They trained him from age 8 to 15, they deserve it.

He played well this weekend however. Kids a legit player and has some real talent. Has a good first touch with nice control. Has a good touch with his left foot and sees the field well. Good accuracy on his passes. Took three long range shots two of which looked good. Kid is def a good player.

However Arsenal is stacked with young talanted midfielders most of whom are younger than he is (Walcott, Ramsey, Wilshire. Not to mention Cesc and Arshivin (sp?)Not sure how he is ever going to see regular first team action for them.

Oh well.
