Formal offer for Moutinho upcoming

Catalan sports paper Sport claims that Sporting midfielder and Portuguese international João Moutinho (21) expects that Barcelona will make Sporting a formal offer before mid-June. The midfielder has a buyout clause of 25 million euro° (read more here).

The paper claims that Barcelona has been following the player for a while, with Barcelona scout Pepe Costa having assisted the last games of Sporting in the Portuguese league and the Portuguese cup.

While Barcelona first saw Moutinho as an option for the future, his progress over the last months could now make Barcelona accelerate its efforts to sign the player.

Asked about the rumours linking him with a summer move to Barcelona (read more here), Moutinho didn't deny at a press conference that Barcelona is interested in him but didn't want to pronounce on his future: "At this moment I only think about the European championship and about our next opponent. Once the tournament ends, I will have time to think about other things."

Would be a great asset. I love watching this player. He has great vista and the passing skill too use that vista.
Would be a big buy! The end of Hleb?

hleb is also seen as winger so maybe both would come.

although I don't really see what Moutinho has more than Iniesta

hleb is better in my opinion but surely mutinho is good too

Even without Moutinho, Barca is now complete on all positions, given the last reinforcements (Pique, Keita, Caceres, Alves). It is mybe Dani Alves that hasn't any proper subs but that will be solved, hopefully. Only thing that now remains is to unload unhappy / unmotivated / ego-tripped / used player and replace them with young and perspective players worth of wearing Barca's shirt. That reffers to: Ronaldinho (poor teamwork and attitude last 2 years), Deco (obvious lack of motivation), Eto (poor team spirit), Gudjohnsen (not really nedeed), Oleguer (some Greek club offered 2M € - price to accept), Thuram (nedlees to say). All those player should be honored for all ther contribution to Barca and should walk out on front door. That should provide FCB with some 100M €. Ideal replacements: Aguero, Benzema, Fabregas. Real replacements: David Silva, David Villa, Joao Moutinho while avoiding the likes Mancini, Hleb, Palacio... However, after around 100M € gained from selling maybe a push for one of the 'Ideal replacements' should be made...

we sure still need a left winger!! I can't believe that Hleb would be the regular on that position. Abidal-Hleb wouldn't work. Maybe Messi will play on the left and Hleb on the right?

I strongly doubt we will get 100M euro for the players you mentioned. Max 70M is what we can hope for and all of that cash is almost already spend. I hope that Silva/Mancini will be bought for the left wing, Moutinho to replace Deco and Sergio Garcia/Güiza as a reserve for the striker position. shouldnt cost more then 40-65M to buy those players.

Formal offer? I thought Sporting made it quite clear that they would only let Moutinho leave if his buyout clause was met? Even so we still need a "true" left winger and Silva would fit the bill. I'm just a little worried about having Iniesta and Mountinho as our attacking midfielders because although they may provide to be "evasive" you wonder if they are going to be able to stay on their feet because they are a bit light in the britches to say the least. I just hope they can both hold up for an entire season. Maybe that's another reason Barca are interested in Hleb to reinforce the midfield upfront?
