Asked about the rumours linking Barcelona attacker and Iceland international Eidur Gudjohnsen (30) with a move to West Ham United (read more here), West Ham manager Gianfranco Zola has confirmed at a press conference in China that the English club is interested in the player:
"Gudjohnsen is one of the players who's been linked to West Ham. Obviously he is one of those players that not only West Ham would like to see playing for them. So we will see what happens.
We know that we have to be more effective going forward and certainly we are looking for a striker. I don't know who it's going to be, but hopefully somebody will come. I have total confidence in West Ham. There is a positive atmosphere and everyone is working well so I am positive it is going to be a good year."
