Decisive day for Chygrynskiy transfer

Catalan sports paper El Mundo Deportivo reports that today can be a decisive day in the transfer of Shakhtar Donetsk defender and Ukrainian international Dmytro Chygrynskiy (22).

Shakhtar Donetsk will play this evening a Champions League qualifier against Timisoara and if Chygrynskiy takes part in the game, he won't be able to play in the Champions League with another team this season. If the centre-back does not play, signing him stays an option for Barcelona, although with Shakhtar asking 30 million euro and Barcelona only offering 20 million euro°, a transfer doesn't seem close.

Are all Ukrainians like these giants? The two of them are at least 192cm tall!

Pep likes skillful giants: Pique, Busquets, Toure, Zlatan, this guy.

He is 190. Some reasons why Pep want him. I guess at least:

I like his style, but I don't know how good he really is. So, he seems similar to Pique, he is young, tall and big, he wore the captain's band, so he is probably a leader-type and he has very good passing. But splashing out such huge amounts of money on such an unproven player doesn't seem right, especially since we have so many other CBs coming up through the youth system. Why not use Muniesa as our 5th centre-back? He is a good one.

Right. Barca could use their own man to play defense. 20M Barca is offering is quite reasonable price, but if Shakhtar insist on 30M I'd say no. The other reason not to get him is that Henrique is back and could be a good choice in this year's defending line. So, Muniesa can get his chance, for example in a Cup games and Marquez can jump into DM boots while Keita is off during January.

Is Caceras going on loan on permanent? I have read that he is now going to sign for $12 million euros??

I think Chygrynskiy is a very good player and I would prefer him to Bruno Alves. He would probably cost around $22 million plus incentives up to $25. It may seem a little expensive but he is a giant and has very good characteristics.

Lets see. It should be clear after tonight what the intensions are.
