Barcelona would have put Gudjohnsen for sale and the player is reportedly keen on going back to England. Several English clubs are said to be interested, with Portsmouth eyening him as a possible replacement for Crouch and Fulham being willing to move if the price is right.

Gudjohnsen is nevertheless quoted by the tabloid as hinting that he would like to join West Ham: "Returning to England is probably inevitable. There is a lot of interest from the Premier League.
