Manchester United preparing a bid for Toure

British tabloid The Daily Mirror claims that Manchester United is preparing a move for Barcelona defensive midfielder and Ivorian international Yaya Touré (26) (read more here).

Manchester United manager Alex Ferguson has reportedly targeted the midfielder as fears grow about Owen Hargreaves's ability to overcome the tendinitis problems that have plagued his Old Trafford career so far.

If Barcelona would sign Liverpool defensive midfielder and Argentine international Javier Mascherano (25), the English champions will be encouraged to bid for Touré, with Ferguson having become aware during the Champions League final that he needs to add a physical presence to his midfield .

Pay the buyout clause of 100 million if you want him.

lol.. daily BS..
this is really funny. no club would sell a player right after they renew a contract.
they can only wish to have him, looking at the YAYA owning CR there in the picture. :)

encouraged ???? my foot.

he just renewed his contract. this news is bullshit. they would try to buy him before he put his pen on the paper and not after his buyout clause was raised to 100 mio euro.

BS. No need to say more.

Wat the F...??? I never thought any tabloid can go down to such disgusting levels..Hellooo..Toure just renewd his contract and extended his contract till 2012.

I guess, English people are sleeping..Even the clubs there are also sleeping coz all their superstars are joining La Liga. I am loving this..I dont know if certain players from Pool joins RM next year and Mascherano joins Barca, how they are going to form a team!! :P

Is it me or is Yaya still the most underated midfielder in world football!! We dont need to spend 20/£30 mil euro on Mascherano, he's good but he's not Yaya. Lets get rid of Hleb the pleb and if we lose Eto'o then lets bring in David Silva and David Villa, get some decent cover at LB (still a possibility we can get Zhirkov) and getting Gabby Milito back from injury will be like signing a new CB.
