Cesc is still an option for this summer

Catalan sports paper El Mundo Deportivo claims that Barcelona could still sign Arsenal midfielder and Spanish international Cesc Fàbregas (22) this summer.

If it won't be possible to sign Ribéry, Cesc could become the star signing of the summer. If Ribéry would still join Barcelona in the coming weeks, Cesc could stay one more year at Arsenal.

Barcelona reportedly has alreeady sounded out Arsenal about a transfer and the English Premier League club would be willing to let the Catalan midfielder go for a fee between 35 and 40 million euro°.

Barca not need him right now ... if Barca can spend 35-40 m , should buy Ribery or worldclass striker. it s better !!

True anony. He's not a priority for now. Anyway it's not like he wants to move here for free. If we have to spend, forget it.

if the unbiased part of me speaks, it would be something like this,"YES PLEASE!! we only have three midfielders during the ACN, and we need quality cover!! xant rely on xavi and iniesta to stay fit all year!!"

but, the barca fan part of me says,"ah, f&@! him, he wouldnt say no to madrid! thats a disgrace!"

i wonder whom ill listen to if he does sign...

we can put pique and marquez in yaya's position. so we have busquet in inesta or xavi's position. i thinlk pep would promote someone for covering the midfielder, it's fine right? we don't have many problems in the middle.

Funny, few days ago, I wrote that I read some of the comments on emd, and one guy, who claims to know things, said that barca will buy villa for 45 mil, fabregas 40 mil + incentives and filipe luis for around 10 mil + loan of one player. According to him those are the done deals. Also, this guy said that Eto'o will stay. So, we will se what will happen:)

Soha, that must be "insideknowledge".. he comes here or do I say he came here and said same. Lets see how things unfold. I guess we have all expressed our wishes, some for Eto stay, Some for Ibra, some for Villa, some Ribery, Zhikov etc.. I cant really decide who comes.. once I have made me wishes known, its the board who decides, but I guess our post/arguements make the summer go quick and less boring (without matches)

If that's not greed then I don't know what is. Eto'o wants a 18 million departure fee from Barcelona, and a 15 million sign on fee from Man City plus a 16 million per year pre-tax wage. He wants to pocket 33 million for the transfer plus be the highest paid player in the world on top of that. How can anyone still defend this greedy mercenary?

How can anyone attack a Barcelona legend (and use every rumour he can find to bash him)?

ron said...

you are not barca supporter trez.you support fc eto'o.you should quit supporting barca and go support the club where eto'o will play next season.

good bye eto'o,good bye trez

As an african i am ashamed of eto'o.now lots of barca supporters start hating us and becoming racist just because of this greedy fool.

I could also say:

you are not a barca supporter, ron. you're a board supporter.

But let's not get that low...

please don't believe anything goal.com or other newspapers publish, take it with some critisism. certainly when there are no quotes, and even those are often misplaced.
it's not like eto'o or his agent would have phoned them and said "listen, this is the situation: ..."

the media have to sell and are no allies to truth then..

Buying Cesc would cover the LW position as Cesc could take Iniestas place and Iniesta can cover both LW and CM. My dream would be buying Ribery, that way Iniesta, the best midfielder in the world, can stay as a midfielder and won't have to cover up for Henry whenever he is gone. But if Ribery isn't an option and there is no other good LW on the market this would work aswell.

So you aren't a Barca fan if you support the Striker that is one of the top 5 ever scorers for us and has won us two out of the three Champions Leagues Barca has ever won?

And Jack, how long have you been watching Barca football for? Just look at that Goal.com site, it says REPORT right in front of Samuel Eto'o!

We make fun of Madrid for trying to push Raul out of their team while we our doing the same thing with pushing our legendary Striker out of the team. Without using rumours, explain to me what Eto'o has done wrong so far this summer? Just stop bashing him and show a little more respect to the guy who has been the best Striker in Europe for the last 5 years. If Barca want him to leave to buy a player they think is more useful to us, thats fine. Just let him go without going crazy and saying he's been bad for us.
