Barcelona still interested in Chelsea left back Cole

British tabloid The Sun claims that Barcelona is still interested in Chelsea left back defender and English international Ashley Cole (28) (read more here).

After Cole turned down a renewal offer by Chelsea this week, interested clubs could start moving for the player. Real Madrid is said to be on the verge of making a bid for the left back.

Good option please dont let madrid get him please. And how much would he cost?

Too much for us, I guess. And we cannot have AND Abidal AND Cole, those are two starters, you cannot expect one of them to sit on the bench for half the games.

No way. The Sun is a crap paper.

Cannt wait this transfer period to end. May be we bounce back to some common sense.

And now that I am avoiding football talks. I will give a general "out of football" info:

If anyone tells you that Sweden is a freezing country in europe, just kick him where it hurts! I just discovered it is in the warmest part of africa!

Its so very too many much warm in this country.

Alright, I will leave you with your "Transfer analysis/fights" ;)

if we do get him wich i doubt, he'll be the starter and abidal would be the sub.
and i dont recommend him he would cost us a fortune i mean if we cant get filipe and we're gonna pay a lot to get a lef back, why not Lahm ? he'd cost about 20 - 25 M and he's better than Cole.

Bruno Alves has become increasingly impatient at the lack of progress over his transfer to Barcelona, the player's father has revealed.

According to Record, Washington Alves, the player's father and representative, told the Spanish media when asked about Barcelona's interest, "Bruno is delighted, because it is a pride that such a big club have asked about him.

"However, even though he knows he has an offer from one of the best clubs in the world, he still does not have his future sorted out, which is why he is starting to become worried."

I wonder if our chase of villa isnt looking more and more like real madrid's chase of ronaldo last season. Villa now seems to be more like an obsession of laporta than anything else while everything else seems to be put on hold.

We need a left back yes, but his name is not Cole. Its either Felipe or maybe Andres Santos from Corinthians, and the transfer should be no more than 12M euros. If we dont lose anyone we have: Milito (??), Marquez, Puyol, Caceres, Pique, Abidal, Alves, Henrique (who can play anywhere in the back, a good backup to alves also), Yaya (in case of injuries or suspensions), Alves and maybe Muniesa and one more player from the youth ranks. There is aboslutely no need in signing two more defenders. And signing a central defender like Bruno Alves for 20M would be the most stupid thing i've heard of.

Ashley wants to stay at Chelsea. He is just trying to get more money. John Terry is on £150K/week, Lamps on £140/week and Ash is on £70K/week, all he is asking for in pay rise. maybe he is trying to "break the wage structure" lol.. We dont need him IMO

Someone mentioned Michel Bastos yesterday, and although he normally plays left wing midfielder for Lille it says on wikipedia he can play left wing back as well. He seems very fast and athletic while also having the brazilian touch and control. Does anyone watch the french league or have any opinions on this player? If he is as good defensively as he is offensively he could be an Alves for the left side available for no more than 15 mil.

NOT COLE!!!!!!!!!!! Waste of money... Cmon Barca..We can do better than that. I honestly dont think any1 from Chelsea is a good fit 4 us. Let Madrid have him while we make a move for Felipe or Yuri Z.

About Bastos,I watched some games and he seems like a good option, can play lw and lb..he's like zhirkov but maybe cheaper.and his free kicks are awesome,he netted lots of those last season....and about weather, ramzi you are lucky, here in eastern finland 9 celsius (dont know in fahrenheit, sorry) and rains...talk about vacation :D ~tero~

and what about Lahm... I guess he's cheaper than Cole

Hey I think Barca have to think about the G.Bale. He also fit in the future plan of Barca. He just about 21.

Lahm sucks ass, sorry but I've been very disappointed in him every time I've seen him play in Bundesliga or for Germany.....

Cole is an arrogant tosser but when he's playing as well as he did this last season, I tend to forget how much I dislike the guy and admit to him being the best attacking LB/LWB option in the world. He's an excellent equivalent to Alves, not in terms of style, but effectiveness. Thing is, we might need Abidal for his more defensive mindedness. Cole though, if we could get him for 25mil, I'd take it without doubt. Think he may have grown up a little of late. But as people have already said, he's probably the mercenary bugger I know him to be, and is just after parity with others in his contract. Shame, cos he may have a highly punchable face, but he's rather good at what he does.

As an aside, I think Villa has a punchable face, maybe it's the "soul-patch" beardy thing, which can be found dribbling down his chin.. Still really really want him to come to us though, very much so.. And Mata or Arshavin.. That'll do nicely for now.

Screw Kaks and Ronny. And Benny. And Albiol. And Pellegrini. Yeah, screw em all..

Mind you, I would sell my family for us to buy Nando Torres, I really would. Best out and out striker in the world, bar none.

Mata might not be a very good idea... didn't seem any good in the recent confed. cup, not effective against buses and isn't he of the same age as El Kun? Every body was like against recruiting El Kun because he might hinder Bojan's and Assulin's growth if I remember right.
Anyway Bastos is lloking to be just what we need right now. 26 years old...would be in his prime form taking his age into account and 2 years down the line won't be much of a problem to give Bojan or Gai more number of chances.
P.S. Some one was saying Mata is like left-footed Iniesta...I mean were u sooooo wasted last time u saw him play!?!
