Vidic offers himself to Barcelona

Catalan sports paper El Mundo Deportivo claims that Manchester United central defender and Serbian international Nemanja Vidic (27) has offered himself to Barcelona.

Vidic's wife, Ana Ivanovic, wouldn't feel comfortable in Manchester ans has asked the centre-back to move to a club in the south of Europe.

The Serbian defender would already have informed Manchester United about his plans to leave the club at the end of the season.

Vidic would in the meanwhile have offered himself to Barcelona through a confidant and is now waiting for an answer. Although Barcelona isn't really looking for a central defender, the club is studying the offer. Vidic, who has a contract until 2012, would be valued around 30 million euro°.

Seems like the ages are screwed up in almost every article. Vidic isn't anywhere close to being 21.

If Vidic leave Man U i would think that Milan is the proper club for him. They really need a good defender and he would also be a way to rejuvenate the squad. And what girl would'nt have a good time in Milano?

No, thanks.
The reason is simple. Watch the 27th minute of the first half.

Bad timing, Vidic. We're not really in need at the back at this moment...

even if it was a romour i wouldn't say no. a bit price but.. he's been one of the best defenders in the premier league. not to sure if sir alex would let him go though.
looking at the situation, marquez may be sold(old, lacks speed, injuries and does SOMETIMES make mistakes we can't afford)
gabriel milito will never come back to his usual form.
puyol is getting older, still pretty useful though

HouseMD- one thing in football is to never judge players from 1 match that makes you look foolish and fickle.

this is total crap but if it were true then he would fit nicely, ariel threat and great at the back, pique vidic partnership is all to sweet. puyol is getting old so being a substitue and starting some matches from next season would keep him fit.

Vidic is a thug and not Barca quality, IMHO

Vidic thug? Dont think so mate. he is well refined defender who also score a few goals. I like him alot and would not mind getting him for the right price

Vidić is not for Barça. Vidić is serbian, and serbian people are very bad.

Let's not play this card. All people are bad anyway.

@marc4barca: look mate, Man United lost this match 1-4. Vidic was weakest link the whole match. I didn't say he's a bad player. But you don't expect such a big mistakes in a crucial game from the player of 30M!? You agree?
I know shit happens, but dude, those players earn so much money (for that millions I'd fly on the pitch), so please...
He's Serbian, so what? I'm Croatian and I don't think he's a bad person.

Vidic is a good player. Bu com eon, ANOTHER centre back. Don't think so.

"Ana ivanovic", that's not the tennis player, right?

HouseMD said...

Yeah, right anonymous. He's Serbian (partially) and he's excellent little boy.

Regarding defenders, Filipe (26) and Zapata (22) both from Udinese are very good players. I don't think Barca should change defending line much, although, Puyol and Marquez are 30 y.o. and it would be nice to have their successors. Caceres didn't play much and I don't know much about Henrique.

Not a tennis player. Just the same name.

Mind Games from the Catalan press.

that said, i wish we WOULD go after Vidic. he's a monster.

where is the source of the news?

Kxevin said...

I'm with BA. Scores with the head, too. Puyol will lose another half-step this off season, and who knows how Marquez will come back from his "successful" surgery. I was ready to sell him this off season anyhow.

But as of right now, for the back line we have Alves, Sylvinho, Abidal, Pique, Caceres, Henrique, Milito, Puyol and Marquez. This doesn't even count a kid like Botia, who might be ready for a look. Yow.

But 30 million is a LOT for a central defender, frankly, particularly for a side that doesn't really defend the way they do in the Prem.

@HouseMD
please don't talk noncence...
Can you find any other game where Vidic made mistake?
He is playing for Unitde for 4 yeras now and that game vs. Pool was the only where he was bad.
Guy is been nominated for the best player in strongest league, 3 times in a row in a prefect team of PM...
Find me one player in world who played every single game in carrer without mistake, after al they are all humans just like you and me...
Also, Vidic is 100 percent Serb!

@Henry
You are an imbecil!

Race, religion or creed should have nothing to do with this. Vidic is an excellent defender. He has played brilliantly and consistently for the last 3 seasons. Man Utd would not be in the position they are in without good defenders. I think he is worth the money and up to Barca quality. I just don't see the CB position a priority for us at the moment particularly with Henrique coming back from loan. For the record I am partly GREEK. Does that make me a bad person?

to aussie
yes it does!!

To Anon people like you don't belong here. You are a coward for not expressing your name to begin with. Judge yourself before you start pointing the fingers at Aussie or anyone else. You are just a coward.

I like Vidic.He is great.And Henry,please, Serbs are bad?!Do you have a reason?
