Medical: Henry out for at least two more weeks

Barcelona's medical staff has announced that Barcelona player Thierry Henry (31) has strained the posterior cruciate ligament of his right knee during last Satruday's league game against Real Madrid.

Henry, who was replaced by Keita after one hour, is expected to be out for at least two more weeks and will undergo specific treatment in the coming weeks.

The French striker wil certainly be out for the league games against Villarreal, Mallorca and Osasuna and for next week's cup final against Athletic Bilbao. He is doubtful for the Champions League final against Manchester United on Wednesday 27 May.

The club's official website is calling it a "strain," not a "tear." Let's hope it's a strain, b/c if it is a tear, he will be out longer than two weeks.

The clubs website also says it's his anerior cruciate ligament in the English translation, and posterior on the Catalan side... maybe they don't know what's wrong with him...

He will be ready for the final!

I agree with the last thing Anonymous said. Sport says that he will probably sit out until the last game before the final but should be fit enough to take part in the game before the UCL final. Let's hope we will have him against United at least from the bench.

There is no doubt in my mind that Henry will play in the final. He will do everything in his power to make sure he gets fit in time. This is Henry's dream, to win the CL. It is the only thing he has not won and I am sure he will be there to help us win it in 3 weeks time!

If he is not there, i dont see us having much of a chance to be honest! im a true Barca fan, but i cant bear to get my hopes up, only to loose a final! It will be heartbreaking! its just, without henry, and two defenders, we will have a major reshuffle! And we need iniesta and yaya in the mid! I say play a 4-1-3-2 formation with yaya in front of the weakened back line. That way we still get the best of xavi, iniesta and keita or busquets, guddy or hleb?! Im gonna take a chance on getting excited though! I have to suppport our team!!

Don't be so negative rObReV7! Toure can play as left back and I'm sure he can limit the threat of Ronaldo. We should play Caceres in the next few games as right back to see how he does. If he does well like he usually does at RB then he can play there against Rooney. Both are strong, fast players. Pique and Puyol can play in the middle. I don't think it is a good idea for Puyol to play at RB because the Defense needs his help to cover both Ronaldo and Rooney. I hope Sir Alex Ferguson will be stupid like he has been all season and play Dimitar Berbatov instead of Tevez. Dimitar is tall but not as tall as Pique and can be marked out of games easily and doesn't pressure the Defense. Tevez pressures all the time and that can cause mistakes and he is impossible to mark out of the game. If Sir Alex plays Rooney on the left flank and Ronaldo on the right and goes with both Dimitar and Tevez upfront, then we have a major problem but I don't think Sir Alex has enough faith in little Tevez for this big game though.

I dont think Toure should play in defense against Man U since most their threat is going to come for midfield anyway.

A fit Henry will be a great bonus for us in the final. What I dont understand was why he wasn't substituted at half time against RM. It was very clear he was struggling.

If Toure doesn't play in Defense then who else will cover?
Caceres-Puyol-Pique-Keita?

Keita has no positional sense and just chaces the ball without realizing the space he gives to the opposition. Sylvinho can play at left back but he wont last the whole game and Ronaldo will run circles around him because of his speed. Sylvinho would have been good for Chelsea though because he doesn't give away any fouls near our area but Man U don't pose as much a threat from set-pieces. Maybe play Keita as left back in the next games to see if it works out. If not, then like I said, Toure will be needed in Defense. But what's the point of my suggestions anyway?

Well, we saw how it went if we have Toure at the defence..

He is to big, to clumsy.
And he is capable to stop the hole midfield him self, so he is needed there.

Xavi and Iniesta are playmakers not a couple of defencive midfielders!

Toure got the Speed though so IF he going to play in the backline he ust l´play as left or maybe right back.

Davide SAnton did a great job to stop Ronaldo when Inter faced Man UTD so I bet Cáceres would do a pretty good job to, don't know if Ronaldo play as a right or left midfielder at the Rome final though.

Puyol, Caceres, Pique, Sylvinho.

Sylvinho's experience has shown this season. He has restrained his going forward to a great degree and gradually got better with playing time after Abidal's injury. I am not saying Toure did a bad job at CB but that his role in midfield is more vital for us. We need him to slow down the attacks and I think that will make it easier for the defenders to handle Man U's wingers.
