Catalan sports paper Sport claims that Barcelona will appeal the red card handed to Barcelona player Eric Abidal and the yellow card handed to Barcelona player Dani Alves in Wednesday's Champions League semi-final second leg game against Chelsea.
Because of the cards, both players wouldn't be able to take part in the final. Although the legal department of the club thinks that Uefa will difficultly accept the protests, the club wants to use all means possible.

forget it. the yellow card for alves was at 100% correctly given. but the red card for abidal was too hard. but i'm sure the uefa will not change anything.
If the Uefa will revolke their card than Man utd will appeal again for their red card of Fletcher....
and this will not happen...
...alves card was 100% correct...and in abidals case, see no chance...after the penalty not given for piques handplay...for me,don't like what barca plans to do in this case...they should accept it like men...also didn't liked the things said after the first leg about ballack...don't defend him,but we could be happy too, because puyols second foul was also a yellow-red card...best what we can do now,is to prepare for the final and forget about this nonsens-stuff and be happy that piques handplay ain't got judged...it would be also respectless against chelsea...we have to prepare for manu with what we have and not with what we would want to have...ONE LOVE!!!!!...BARCA FOREVER!!!!!
ManUtd will appeal the card against Fletcher too, but I don't think one of them will be successfull.
Never hurts to ask right? The problem with the abidal red is that he was the last man, so the ref could not have given him a yellow if he wanted to. The red card would have to be rescinded completely which i'm not sure uefa is willing to do.
united are appealing on compassionate grounds, "biggest game of his life, blah, blah", i don't think they have a case but abidal did not even touch anelka, anelka tripped over his own feet, so for a player to miss the biggest game of his career because another player tripped over himself is incredibly harsh, and they should definitely look into the possibilities.
i'm sorry but alves deserves not to play in the final. i love how he has played for us all season but in these two games he was an embarressment, he showed a very bad side of his character, especially in the first leg.
regardless UEFA wont let this happen. its a massive blow to us but also to united, fletcher would have been one of their harrying midfielders used to close down our midfield and attack, united don't have a replacement for that role assuming they play anderson and carrick so hopefully we'll have more space.
Can't fletcher be replaced by Scholes? Against Arsenal they played with Carrick, Anderson and Fletcher, so I guess putting Schles there wouldn't affect them much.
I think Pep Guardiola will make Puyol play in the right side the Alves side. and Selvenio in the left side where Abidal play.and the Pique and Yaya Touré will be the defenders As in Chelsea.
All the best for FC BARCELONA
I think we have a very strong case with Abidal. There was very, very minimal if any contact at all. It seemed like Anelka (or whoever the attacking player was) tripped over and carried on like an idiot. I believe Man Utd have already appealed Flecther's red. I hope Drogba gets banned for 6 months. He is a disgrace.
groga - scholes is no help to manu has he is the worst tackler in football and against this barcelona side he could well be ent off quickly. i think tevez will play midfield as manu will look to replicate chelsea.
shbaeek -that is exactly what gaurdiola will do and he will instruct our holding midfielder to help mark cristiano as he is the only man that needs to be double marked. rooney is dangerous as well but the way manu will play he will drift left alot and puyol will be able to stop most of the time.
