Catalan radio station Ona FM claims that Barcelona held this morning a first meeting with the agent of Barcelona manager Josep Guardiola (38) to discuss a contract renewal.
Because the focus is now on the end of the transfer market, the meeting would just have been to hear about the positions of both parties (read more here).
Guardiola would want to have more influence in the transfer and in the youth academy. The coach also wants his contract to be renewed year by year and wants a more important role for Barcelona director of communication Manel Estiarte, a close friend of Guardiola.
Catalan sports paper El Mundo Deportivo announced the meeting earlier today saying that both Guardiola and his agent Josep Maria Orobitg had already informal contacts with Barcelona board members to discuss the renewal of the coaches contract that expires next year.

hope he leave benfica for another club this winter.
Woot LOl... i love this picture... Anyone else think that Pep has major style...?
i seriously wanna know where he gets his clothes....
can you guys imagine him saying in the next summer "Coaching Real Madrid has always been my dream" ... and he goes there and kisses the badge !! how would that be :-)
2 harsha
You're crazy )))
I can imagine this guy running for president in 10-12 years from now. Or at least the fans like us would want him to.
Pep deserves it after what he has done. Besides I would rather have him in charge of the transfers than Txiki: He has been slow to get the players the team needs and now he says the targets are impossible to get. Well of course they are, the window is closing, no team wants to lose their best players at this stage.
Pep has demonstrated he is capable of great things and like some already mentioned he has still so much to learn and give.
