Barcelona reconsidering Van Persie transfer

Catalan sports paper El Mundo Deportivo unconfirmedly claims that Barcelona is reconsidering the transfer of Arsenal winger and Dutch international Robin van Persie (25).

Because the transfer of Ribéry would have become more difficult, Barcelona is again reopening other options, with Van Persie being the first name on the table. The Dutch attacker still didn't renew his contract that expires next summer and could therefore be available for a transfer fee of around 10 million euro°.

British tabloid News of the World claims that Van Persie, who has been offered the double of his current salary by Arsenal, is postponing a new deal with Arsenal, which could force the English Premier League club to listen to offers coming in during the summer transfer window.

It's a very good price, I wouldn't mind if the transfer of Ribéry is deemed impossible - however, that would certainly be my first choice.

...what is with david silva...he should be our first option...as he proved how well he plays together with xavi and iniesta...also like his creativity, his pace, his technic and his skills on the ball...also he is well versed with the style of spanish football...to see him come to us would be like a dream to me...he could be the perfect piece for our squad...van persie is not the badest, but like most oranje-players he has always his critical ups and downs, especially him...

I red somewhere yesterday about it. It looks like he rejected a new contract at Arsenal and Mourinho expresses his desire to bring him to Inter. Ribery is better but it seems that he will join RM, unfortunately. Anyway, what will Barca get if they sign him? Nothing. Just like Hleb. Flop of the year.
Let's get someone else:
-di Maria (Benfica)
-Capel (Sevilla)
-Babel (L'pool)

david silva would be my first option if ribery deal fails, but what about diego from bremen? he's a good player, not sure about on the left, but still a good player.

No... RVP. get Silva instead. He is far better than RVP. Also he work well with Xavi and Iniesta.

I think Diego already reached an agreement with Juve.

I like Van Persie but he is to injury prone. He will be another 'glass man' like Robben. Ribery should be considered a 'MUST.'

Very good price. Get him for 10m euro if possible. But a target striker should be the main focus.

Noooo!!!!
Not RvP, he sucks.
Agüero og Silva for the left wing, if that can't be, Ribery can be a third option.
But not RvP, he's fast and that is it, he's got no passing and no technique

I think Barca is trying to get a good Dutch player..
in the hostory of Barca, they always had Dutch players. But been years without Dutchies in team since Gio VB left.
But Van Persie? Nah there r way better players available for tht position.

10m euros, it is a smart buy. All you people who are against it, think about the price. Van Persie is Arsenal's top scorer this season, 10m euros is a good price, it gives us backup. With Silva there will be no Gai Assulin in our team, ever.

--> Ano
I don't agree, there are plenty of cheap bargains, fx. they can get me for free, that don't mean i'm good enough to play at Barca.
Even if RvP was free, he wouldn't be good enough for Barca.

Cash in on Henry, get Agüero or Silva and use Gai as a backup.

Are you the top scorer in Arsenal this season? Henry should stay, he can play on the left and as striker.

Søren Mortensen said...

No, I suck, as do RvP...

Persie may not be as good as Aguero or Ribery but at least he is a way more useful than Silva. Persie is tall and strong, can play as a centre forward and can score, but he is injury plagued though. Those who want Silva in other words want fruitless possession, inefficient scoring and even bigger problems vs EPL teams. If you replace Henry with a guy who scores 2-3 goals a season, the result is a disaster. Barca should get one more game-winning player in order to rest other key players but still maintain the quality of play. Now Bojan is Barca´s only useful benchboy what comes to attacking.

for 10 mil i think we should serioiusly consider him, the way barca play we need a player for our LW who can score, thats the most important aspect. we got xavi, iniesta, alves, messi, all players than can create chances. the reason henry has been so great this year is that he has the skill to create chances and he has the ability to score lots of goals. if we don't get ribery (and he isn't perfect only because he is a midfielder and not a striker, doesn't guarentee lots of goals) then we need a goal-scoring forward, i like silva but we don't need that type of player, we have enough 'creators', for the LW we need a finisher. we should keep henry and promote gai to learn from him but if not then,

1st choice would be aguero, lacks aerial ability but both a creator and a finisher
2nd choice would be someone like RVP, to say he has no technique is a lie, no one can play at arsenal that long and not have good technique, his draw backs are his injury proneness and his bad attitude.
3rd choice silva or di maria (but don't know much about him)

Silva might be adapted to spanish football, but can he make a diffrence against a team like Chelsea? much less than RVP that's for sure, a player who is playing his 5th season in the EPL is good for us, and especially one from an attacking mentality team, which can play LW and Striker and scores alot (relativley to his playing time). Remember Messi before this season? he was injury prone too, but now it seems a new fitness regime has taken over and is doing wonders... imagine a fully fit RVP all season long... yummi!

AGÜERO or DAVID SILVA! they are fantastic players, and will adapt well to the passing style of barcelona pluss both players have played well with barca players on the nacional team! el kun with messi, and silva with xavi and iniesta!

visca el barca

RVP has the skills Barca needs on the left, but I don't like his injury problems. Maybe Pep can fix that with his dietary regimen.

He is strong on the ground and in the air. He can score. He is also an outstanding set piece taker. He can do a lot of things and also serve as CF back-up.

For only 10m euros, it is worth speculating if Ribery can't be landed.

No way in mny life would I ever want to see RvP in blaugrana. Bojan has the ability to play on the wing, but I'd rather see Silva or Ribery there.

Well, i'm culé since rivaldo's times. The signing of van persie could be very possible. First of all, Pep and Txiki are looking for a skilled left forwrd that can score a decent number of goals in the campaign. The first option is Ribery, but in the last week it seems that it had became a little harder than we expected. Here is where van persie appears. All of usin the gent blaugrana have good regards about dutch players. What about Silva? Well, it seems that he doesn't fit in Pep's profile for the position. He is fast, is skilled, but he lacks the goal.
