Italian sports paper Il Corriere dello Sport claims that Barcelona is following Standard de Liège midfielder and Belgian international Axel Witsel (20).
When the player was fifteen years old, he would already have received an offer to join Barcelona, but preferred back then to stay with Standard.
Witsel has a contract until 2013 and his Belgian club would ask at least 10 million euro for the player. Real Madrid, Ajax and Arsenal are also said to be following the midfielder.

i live in belgium and know all about witsel's game he's very talented thats for sure but right now if he joins barcelona he will need to be loaned for at least two years because he's to light for the starting XI and to young to be a bench-sitter so .....
i second that, also live in Belgium. Frankly i don't think he'll ever be good enough for a starting XI..
...what the...how can you call that football...think,even spains youth plays better...
not good enough. the only belgian talent who could do well in barça are eden hazard, dembele and kompany.
Kompany is quite poor. Dembele as well. Witzel not good enough, it is time to quit watching this kid, and start promoting Thiago who is far better.
