Guardiola could leave next summer

Madrid sports tabloid As claims that Barcelona manager Josep Guardiola (38), whose current contract expires next summer, could leave Barcelona at the end of the coming season.

Guardiola would be angered by the attitude of Barcelona president Joan Laporta, whose statements over the last weeks wouldn't have helped the team and have broken the feeling of modesty the coach has been promoting during the whole season.

Because of the tense relationship with Laporta, it would be unlikely that Guardiola will sign a contract renenwal before the presidential elections in the first half of next year. And independently of who will become the new president, Guardiola might be looking for new challenges and thinking about moving abroad, with Italy being the most probable destination.

Yes ofcourse.

I thought our debt was almost payed off? I read i to, 483m. Anyone accurate info on that?

I can't believe pep would be angered to the one who believed so much in him.

They're exagerating things, that's what Madrid papers are for.

But it's generally believed, also in Catalonia, that Guardiola and Laporta don't get along very well. And Laporta sure has been talking too much over the last weeks. Leave the talking to Pep!

He earlier said he didn't want to sign a new contract because of the presidential elections; He doesn't want the new president to be stuck with him. If the next president wants pep to stay he will stay.

Barca4Life - u say u dnt want signings..lol r u ignorant? do u knw how difficult it is to defend titles?!?! our team is not gna b like last season, complacency will kick in whether u like it or not! and in ACN yaya kieta and eto r leaving for a month! busquets is the only stand in guy in midfield available ! and bojan will b our main striker! ok he is goooood but stilll not as good as eto or villa or forlan or llorente or ibra ! hell mayb not as good as keerison! he needs a few more seasons to bcome worldclass...no offence but u have no clue abt football if u think barca shud not sign ne players!

Regarding Guardiola Might leave:

if i was him i wud leave rite now!
pep is loyal to the club and wud not wnt to be season as the coach who got run over by madrid,,,for gods sake laporta the guy asked for a laaaaarrrrggggeeer squad! and u r shrinking it with ure stuppid cash plus loan deals...

imagine peps feeling now that he is almost a week from preseason and still no signings! must b nervous as hell,,,gna b veeerry tough for him to keep the motivation and hunger...

Can you pay a little attention to your spelling, blaugrana1?

Try for example to abvoid abbreviations like "u" "n" "r" "b" and so on. They make it harder for people to read the message.

I know it's a little more effort to write the full word, but with people from all over the world and most of them not having English as first language, we all have to adept a bit to make people understand each other better.

Thanks!

i think its just they are trying to destabilize us. if pep is really not happy w/ the way laporta deal w/ the board right now, then he should stay cuz next year there will be a new president ;)

groga said...

I think he'll only leave if we win the treble again. Or at least the CL in the Bernabeu. Then I would think he'll choose for some time off or another challenge.

harsha said...

i hope this is not true... he should stay for many years

jazzy said...

if he wants to go he should coach spain NT.. :D

I don't know about Pep leaving us. But Laporta has been talking to much BS lately. Stop talking and start acting...

We're getting tired of talking about rumours, instead of actual transfer...

Ok firstly who said i didnt want signings? I wanted Ibra, I wanted Ribery at one stage, I wanted Lahm at one stage, at didnt mind cesc, i was happy for filipe to come. So for you to say I dont want signings is silly.

What i said was, if everybody is asking for so much money that we cant afford. Screw them all, throw 2 middle fingers up at them and promote thiago gai and muniesa keep guddy and hleb and Barca FTW.

Parts of this story might be true. Guariola might be angry at how laporta has conducted himself but i doubt it would be enough to make him leave the club he has lived his life in.

The second part that might be true is guardiola may not want to sign a new contract but not because of the tense relationship but because he would want the new board to be able to choose their own coach rather then being sacked which would cost the club money.

He has already said he believes in shorter contracts for coaches so the club isnt financially burdened when they are fired or leave.

As for the part about guardiola wanting another challenge, why would guardiola leave here when he still has to match the record of 4 straigh la liga titles of the first dream team and break madrid's record of 5 straight la liga titles? :)

jazzy said...

whoaa.. b4l.. yeah im wishing for that 5 straight liga titles.. and if it'd come true.. maybe madrid will end up in bankruptcy w/ all their debt and no tittles. thats my dream. ;)

well, that would be so ungrateful of Guardiola towards the man who believed in him, first in coaching the B side, then directly to coach a team playing in La Liga and CL. I don't think this will be the scenario. highly unlikely. up till now we didn't hear Guardiola complaining, all what he said was that he believes that working under short term contracts motivates the individual better than long term contracts that may become "too" stable.
but that managerial talking of motivation in the short and long term is far too difficult for Madrid's press to interpret.. what they understood is "Guardiola is unhappy with the way Laporta is talking".. typical Madrid one-dimensional type of thinking.

See ya ej.We lost a great comrad.Wae!!!waewaewae.I wanna cry.WOOO HOOO.But it is true what ej said.

Anyway,if pep goes then barca will never be the same again. But still will be the best.....as always.

5 straight la liga titles? loool it will never happen in these times, football is way to tough these days. madrid won those 5 in the easy times, most we can get too is 3. but i say 3 la ligas and 2 cl in 5 years tops all especially since we have a treble.

we got two things real can't tak from us, first ever la liga and first ever spanish treble and a style of play everyone dreams of while real get criticized every time they play.

i'm not even gonna dignify this report with a reaction. i know though pep never intended to stay long, he said as much since the start, + i wont be surprised if he quits when a new president is installed, he would want whoever succeeds laporta to have a free choice.

ridiculous! why should he move to crappy Serie A when he can be a living legend in Barcelona! nothing serious about this in my opinion!

Don Luis said...

Teams can win the league 5 straight times during todays game no doubt!

Hello? Have you payed attention to other league and teams?

Inter Milan- 4 straight Serie A and will win next season

Man utd- 3 straight.

Lyon-you know their dominance in France

SO plz get some facts..

As for pep...I believe he could leave. He said he doesn't want to manage for a long time. I read about pep leaving in 2010 since december.

I thank Laporta and his board for getting some debt rid. But he doesn't want Barcelona full of debt like Liverpool! He is smart with the money. If you guys want transfers well just switch to Manchester United or Chelsea.

He does it the Barcelona way. If you been a long time fan of Barcelona you would understand it. I bet some of you have only been supporting Barca this season....
