[2008] Negotiations on Hernanes in last stage

this post was published exactly one year ago:

Catalan sports paper Sport claims that Barcelona has made on Tuesday a second offer for São Paulo attacking midfielder and Brazilian international Hernanes (23), who has a buyout clause of 25 million euro°.

A new bid of 15 million euro° would now be on the table. São Paulo would not have accepted the offer although it's expected that -with the player possibly pressuring his club- an agreement could in the end be found for a lower fee, but including several variables. The paper claims that the negotiations are now in the final stage and that a deal could be closed next week.

Asked about the new proposal, São Paulo football vice president Carlos Augusto de Barros e Silva nevertheless denied any formal offer in an interview with Brazilian sports paper Lance: "We did not talk with Barcelona officials, so we don't know anything. We did not receive any offer for Hernanes or any other player of our squad."

F Roberto de Assis! This guy is clearly playing with other clubs interest.. Now even ManCity set a deadline, because they don't know until now if Ronaldinho would like to join them.
Damn, they are reported to offer 25-30 mio. €...

And then, a guy like Galliani comes out time and time again and says they can only afford him if he comes for a "very reasonable, favourable" price, which means -> nothing.
F AC Milan, most classless club after Real Madrid...

@Hernanes: I really, really hope we sign him. He seems to be the perfect replacement for Deco (if there is anyone available), I think the transfer would settle at 17-18 Mio., which should be, considering the actual market prices, reasonable.

I really like his versatility, all-around game and his shots and free-kicks, something our team lacked since the downfall of Ronaldinho.

The only problem could be the 'vote of no confidence', hence, I'm really curious to see what can be done if the vote succeeds.

Maybe some transfers in the winter period for the first time in a long time?

If I were Barcelona I would make the 15mil as a take-it-or-leave-it final offer to Sao Paulo. If Sao Paulo are holding off for 25mil then they can keep him. They should then turn to Hernanes and apologize for killing the rest of his career in the process! We will all be left to wonder how great the player could have become, but thanks to Sao Paulo we'll never know. Such a tragedy.

why dudes writing ronnie off for? I see him no worse then anyone staying or leaving the club...Barcelona didn't win..and not cause Ronalihno wasn't in form..its because The Team wasn't in form.. we were scoring but not capatalising leaving too many open spaces for teams to exploit..Ronnie is still the greatest in my eyes and i see no reason to sell just yet Ac Milan doesn't even have a birth-place in Champs League this go round..so if you were to get back your form this year it'd only help seal a spot for next year..So i hope he/you stay ronnie..Barca for life..
