Agent Filipe confirms that deadline expires today

Asked about the rumours linking Deportivo La Coruña left back defender Filipe Luis (23) with a move to Barcelona (read more here), the player's agent José Carlos Lages said in an interview with Galicia regional newspaper El Ideal Gallego that Barcelona has set a deadline that expires today:

"Barcelona has made a little effort in the last days and their offer is now closer to ten than to eight million euro. We wait for the answer of Depor that should come today, so we know if they accept or don't accept the offer.

If [Deportivo president] Lendoiro doesn't answer or doesn't accept this last offer, Barça will forget about Filipe and start looking at other options. For Depor, it wouldn't be a good thing to have an unhappy player in the squad. Not being able to join Barcelona, would be a serious blow for him on a psychological level, because he was very much looking forward to go there. If Depor doesn't accept the offer of Barça, Filipe will stay with Deportivo until the last day of his contract and they won't be able to make a profit by selling him."

The guy is ready to spoil his career if denied an opportunity to join us! And our board didn't seem to put much effort in signing him. I feel very sad for him. Only hope it all goes well and he signs for us.
But at the same time feels so happy when some one shows so much desperation to join us. Only speaks the greatness of FC Barcelona :)

the agent is forcing the way out.GOOD

this guy really wants to join us dont know how good he is but if we cant get him coz 9m is the best we can give ..we shld start looking for other options

cissoko (porto), mohammad sakho(PSG) both r france players so wont have ne prob relating to that non european player part

jazzy said...

is this gonna be our first official signing?? at last.. come on. lets all pray.. ;)

Cissocko is French? Like Abidal, Sakho, Clichy and Evra? Too bad France can't play with 11 LBs in their national team.

nice one jazzy.

can anyone tell me who are occupying the 3 NON-EU spots in our squad currently and wat are the criterian for a non european citiczen to be considered and eu citizen???

Anonymous said...

Hope to hear good news ! Extraordinadry player and much better than Abidal. He is young and really talented. Defence would be absolutely superb if we got him !

AJ said...

i think it depends on the player's country.. If the country is not part of the European Union, than the player would take up a non-EU spot. Players from Latin countries can take up Spanish citizenship after staying for 2 years I believe, the rest 5 years. Right now, I believe it's Eto'o, Yaya and Caceres. Dani has Spanish citizenship, so does Messi. I think Keita has French citizenship.

barca nike said...

the non-EU players are hleb-toure-caceres

Sachincule said...

AJ
thanks for the info, but i guess eto has a spanish nationality as he has been in spain for over 9 year... i guess the other one might be hleb and i heard somewhere that apparently yaya has a dual nationality

Have a feeling, guys, that we're gonna announce a few signings soon if not all together, then all in succession in a week or two, just in time for July 20th. I honestly don't mind if Villa doesn't come, K9 looks good and he can become backup to Eto'o (who is fresh from a record breaking season) till January. If he isn't performing well, we have Henry, Bojan and Messi to operate in the centre. Eto'o scores 20 goals by January from CF, then K9 or whoever else takes over, then we continue. Doesn't look that bad to me! So, K9, Felipe, plus Thiago and Gai's promotion will be this summer's signings.

so of our newsignings only keorrison must be non eu and he would leave on loan anyways. But henrique would occupy the other non eu spot that would be left by caceres who would leave on loan most probably(actually caceres might get a spanish citizenship this year as he has already been in for 2 years and since hes latina according to AJ then he should get it) and if hleb(not likely though) leaves that would leave space for another non eu slot.

AJ said...

i dont tink so Eto'o has Spanish nationality. Read somewhere that he refused it or something. Sounds like something Samu would do, no?

Faniba said...

Our non-EU players are Hleb, Caceres, Keirrison and Henrique. African players have a special treatment that makes them not count as EU, so Yaya isn't part of the non-EU group. Filipe has EU passport (Italian I think).

We can have 3 non-EU players, so one of our 4 non-EU players has to go (seems like it will be Caceres).

a good news el mundo deportivo claim that an agrement had been found between barca and soriano about villa where barca is going to pay 45 millions + gudy and the announcement will be delay until barca find a solution with eto'o

fcbee said...

Do Belarus player also don't have a special treatment? Thought I read it somewhere. I sure didn't yet read anything of problems for the non-EU spots for next season.

u all heard what laporta said today? he said if it was up to him he would sign any new players to the squard.but its only because the coaching staff wants new players. laporta is the one who is holding up the f...king money to spend on the new players i kno it long time.

groga said...

It's speculation, marc10452. Even EMD didn't really said it they just say that there were "rumours out there". This is even less trustworthy than EMD reporting it themselves... ;)

Anonymous said...

sorry he said he would not sign any new players if it was up to him. sorry my ppl there.

trez said...

He said "if it was up to me" but he's going to follow the coaches and sign players. He just meant that he believes in the current squad.

guys... read Melo signed for Juve??? so case closed on tat too now.

westinho said...

You guys talking about Cissokho...isn't he officially transfered to AC Milan for 15 million euro..?

Anonymous said...

@ Westinho

No mate, the found something during his medical exam and the transfer fell through.

aydink-1 said...

No,he didnt pass medical because of the teeth problem.
But in reality, guy is fine and healty,it was just Milan trying to lower price because they are in such shit that it is so funny.
Berlusconi even said that Milan as it stands now is the strongest team in Italy and needs no signings.
What a funny man.

Barca for life!!!

WHAT DID I TELL YOU?????
BASTOS, CESC, VILLA!!!
FILIPE IS OFF!!

Unknown said...

who are you anonymous and how much will they cost and how who do we sell?

Anonymous said...

Isn't Bastos more of a left-winger than a left-back? If what you claim is true why would the deal of a defender be off to accommodate a winger?

hawk_barca_4_life said...

lol ya i have also heard regarding bastos rumours 2 weeks ago but didnt have a good source to belive it

bastos is good can play both LB and LW

cissoko deal was canceled coz milan didnt want to pay 15m for him and used excuse of dental prob after he had cleared the medical and agrrements regarding contract had been done.. shit milan always want players for less and play dirty

cissoko is too good just watch he can be our future LB when abidal is gone ..he can compete this season with him

here is the link for his performance against manu

part of the translation ( free translation.com):
Even so, the calendar of the presidential changeover in Mestalla can delay the oficialización of the transfer of Village, although this be negotiated. Yesterday speculated with the imminence of an agreement for 45 million euro and the transfer of Eidur Gudjohnsen to the Valencia.

Perhaps today new details of the negotiation in mouth of the own Village be known. After being seen with Soriano, Village anticipates to arrive at its Campus in Plainsman (Asturias) toward the six in the afternoon to direct a session with the children. Then it will attend to the press, in the middle of a great expectation

Regarding Cissokho... Happened to watch both the legs of Man.United vs Porto. Very impressed with his performance. But IMO he's been brilliant in his short passes, fakes and all... Would be excellent addition for the team because of that. But then I felt his crosses had been not so good. Has scope for development though

Anon, you keep sayin Cesc, Villa a,d Bastos.
I am off to the betting shop. If I dont win, you know I would come back for you..lol..
jst kidding.

If this Filipe issue cannot be done and dusted then why don't we go for Andre Santos of Corinthians, he looked pretty solid for Brazil at the Confederations Cup.....

Come on! Still about 1 hour left! Txiki has strong finish:)

I also got impresses by cisshoko in the matches between porto and man u. I would prefer him. Milan indeed always plays dirty!
9 million tops! we shouldn't pay more nor give player in loan for that amount.
